We had a fun road trip in Loveshack25. The listing is accurate, it was super clean and communication was great. Now… we want one ! Ed & Wanda

Wanda B. - Sep 2025

Host and "rig" were awesome. Desiree knows all the tricks to make your home away from home perfect, it was just what we needed. Communication was great and very accommodating, highly recommend!

David was great plenty of communication whenever needed. This is the first time we have done this and it went great.

Scott D. - Mar 2025

The Majestic Weasel was definitely worth our trip. It was my first time every driving and living in an RV. My family rented it from a Fri-Mon. By Sunday I had figured out pretty much everything with how it ran and it began to feel like a home to our family. David was fantastic at quickly responding to all of my questions in figuring out all of the nuances and specifics of an RV. The price was fair and it was so close to Pueblo Resevoir which is where we stayed. I would easily recommend, and consider renting again, The Majestic Weasel.

How much does an RV rental in Rockvale, CO typically cost?

An RV rental in Rockvale, CO is often more affordable than booking in Denver or Colorado Springs because you are reserving in a small Fremont County town near the Royal Gorge. What license do I need to rent an RV in Rockvale, Colorado?

A regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Rockvale, no commercial driver's license (CDL) or special endorsement is required in Colorado, even for the largest Class A motorhomes on the platform. Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home country's auto association and pair it with your home license. Is my Rockvale RV rental protected if something goes wrong?

Peace of mind is built into every booking. During checkout you choose between protection plan tiers based on the coverage level and deductible you want, and the choice is entirely yours, not the host's. While it is not traditional auto insurance, it offers substantial financial protection so you can focus on crossing the Royal Gorge Bridge instead of worrying about what-ifs.

What happens if I need to cancel my Rockvale RV trip?

You can book your Rockvale RV rental with confidence. RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and there is a grace-period window after booking when you can cancel for a full refund. After that, your refund depends on how far out you are from your trip start date. Because RVezy handles cancellations centrally, you do not have to negotiate with the host, just reach out to support and they will walk you through it. If a host cancels on you, RVezy refunds you in full or offers travel credits. That flexibility is one reason first-time renters feel comfortable locking in their Royal Gorge dates early.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Rockvale?

Rockvale sits at about 5,463 feet in a milder pocket of Colorado, so your RV season runs longer than you might expect. The sweet spot is late April through mid-October, when daytime highs range from the mid-60s in spring and fall to the mid-80s and low 90s in July and August, with cool 50-degree nights perfect for campfires. I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving around Rockvale?

You've got this, first time renting an RV is easier than it looks, especially in Fremont County where the roads are wide and traffic is light. Every RVezy host provides a hands-on orientation at pickup: they walk you through driving, braking, leveling, hookups, and the propane and generator systems before you pull away. The route from Rockvale out to Royal Gorge on US-50 is a gentle two-lane highway with shoulders, and you can avoid steep mountain passes entirely if you stick to the Arkansas River corridor. Ask your host to send a quick demo video before pickup so you arrive already familiar with the rig, and remember you can message them any time during your trip through the RVezy app.

Your host is also just a message away through the RVezy app and usually knows the local mechanics best. Cañon City has multiple RV-capable repair shops within about 10 miles of Rockvale. Can I take my Rockvale RV rental into other states or across the border?

Yes, your Rockvale RV trip can absolutely cross state lines. Most hosts happily allow travel throughout the U.S., which opens up incredible routes: north to Wyoming's Grand Teton (370 miles), south to New Mexico's Taos and Santa Fe (220 miles), or west into Utah's Mighty Five national parks (around 450 miles to Moab). Travel into Canada may be allowed with advance host approval and proper insurance documentation, so message before booking. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance coverage doesn't extend south of the border. Pro tip: share your full itinerary with your host upfront so they can confirm mileage allowances and any cross-border paperwork before you hit the road.

How much should I budget for fuel on a Rockvale RV road trip?

Fuel is one of the easier line items to plan. Colorado gas prices typically run around $3.00 to $3.80 per gallon, and most motorhomes get 8 to 12 miles per gallon while travel trailers tow at about 10 to 14 mpg behind a truck. For a typical 4-day Royal Gorge loop covering around 300 miles, budget roughly $90 to $130 in fuel for a Class C. Pueblo, about 40 miles east, often has some of the cheapest diesel and gas in the region, so top off there before heading into the mountains. Download GasBuddy and fill up before climbing toward Cripple Creek on the Gold Belt Byway, where stations are scarce and prices can jump 30 to 50 cents per gallon.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Rockvale?

Earlier is better, but you have options. For summer weekends (Memorial Day through Labor Day) at popular spots like Royal Gorge KOA, Royal Gorge RV Resort, or Lake Pueblo State Park, book 3 to 6 months ahead. Colorado state parks open reservations 6 months in advance through Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and they fill fast for holiday weekends. Private RV parks in Cañon City often have weekday availability even in July if you are flexible. If you strike out on reservations, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) dispersed sites like Oil Well Flats just outside Cañon City are free and first-come, first-served, perfect for a spontaneous Rockvale RV trip.

What are the driving conditions like around Rockvale?

Driving in and around Rockvale is genuinely manageable, even for first-timers. The town sits at 5,463 feet on relatively flat terrain just off CO-115 and US-50, the main east-west route that connects Pueblo, Cañon City, and Salida. Roads are paved, two to four lanes, with gentle grades along the Arkansas River. The one stretch to plan around is US-50 west of Cañon City through Bighorn Sheep Canyon, where the highway hugs the river with some curves, take it slow and you'll be fine. Winter driving (November to March) can bring occasional snow, but plows run frequently. Pro tip: avoid the steep, narrow Phantom Canyon Road and Shelf Road in any rig over 25 feet, those are scenic but built for trucks and small campervans only.

Can I rent an RV in Rockvale during winter, and is cold-weather camping doable?

Yes, and you will love how quiet Fremont County gets in winter. Royal Gorge KOA and Mountain View RV Resort stay open year-round with shore power so you can plug into 30 or 50 amp and keep the heat running. Filter for four-season or winterized rigs, ask your host about tank heaters and skirting, and plan a soak at nearby Cottonwood Hot Springs (about 60 miles west) for the ultimate winter Rockvale RV trip.
