Campgrounds and RV parks near Geneseo, NY

Geneseo sits in Livingston County in western New York, roughly 35 miles south of Rochester and at the western edge of the Finger Lakes region. The town is a practical base for RV travelers heading to the Genesee River gorge, Conesus Lake, and the rolling farmland between the Finger Lakes and Lake Ontario. The closest full-service campgrounds are private family parks with hookups plus one large state-park facility. Conesus Lake Campground sits on the east shore of Conesus Lake with RV and tent sites, cabins, and cottages. The Ridge Campsite and The Ridge Campground are located near Mount Morris, a short drive from Letchworth State Park, and offer full hookups, a pool, and fishing ponds. Letchworth State Park itself operates a large public campground on the western side of the park, above the Genesee River gorge. Most sites in the area sit at moderate elevations in gently rolling terrain, which keeps summer nights cooler than in the Rochester lowlands and adds wind exposure on ridge-top sites.

Letchworth State Park camping is booked through the New York State Parks reservation system operated by ReserveAmerica, either online or by calling the ReserveAmerica call center at 1-800-456-2267. Sites can be reserved up to nine months in advance, with a fourteen-night maximum stay. Same-day reservations are allowed until 3 p.m. on the day of arrival, and walk-ins are permitted for campsites only. Conesus Lake Campground, The Ridge Campsite, and The Ridge Campground are private and book directly through each operator's website or by phone. For summer weekends and fall foliage dates, reserve well in advance: Letchworth in particular fills quickly for July, August, and October weekends.
