Campgrounds near Naples, New York
Naples sits at the southern tip of Canandaigua Lake in the Finger Lakes region of western New York, roughly an hour south of Rochester. The village is a town of roughly 1,000 people at the southern tip of Canandaigua Lake, and calls itself the Grape Pie Capital of the World. RV travelers use it as a base for lake access, wine trails, gorge hikes, and fall foliage drives through the surrounding hills.
Private campgrounds cluster in the wooded ridges and creek valleys around the village. Stetson's Tumble Hill Campground and Holiday Hill Campground are close options, with Bristol Woodlands Campground, Tamarack Campgrounds, and The Finger Lakes Campground within a short drive. The Finger Lakes Campground is located in the wine country of the Finger Lakes, with sites for daily, monthly, and seasonal stays, and most sites offer up to 50 amp service.
State-run camping in the wider area includes Keuka Lake State Park to the southeast and Stony Brook and Letchworth State Parks to the west, all bookable through New York's central reservation system.
Things to do near Naples
Canandaigua Lake anchors most trips. Boating, swimming, and fishing are within a short drive of the village, and Grimes Glen Park in town offers a creek walk to two waterfalls. Ontario County Park at Gannett Hill offers hiking, mountain biking, and trail running, with an overlook and access to the Finger Lakes Trail, which runs through the park and extends toward town.
The Canandaigua Lake Wine Trail runs through Naples with stops including Hazlitt Red Cat Cellars and Arbor Hill Grapery. Bristol Mountain, about nine miles north, runs a fall sky ride during foliage season.
Since 1961, the Naples Grape Festival has been held each September in the village, considered the Grape Pie Capital of the World. Travelers should build plans around it if visiting the third full weekend of September, when local lodging fills quickly.

The camping season around Naples is short and weather-driven. Most private campgrounds open in May and close in mid-October, and state park campgrounds follow a similar window. Naples has a humid continental climate with cold, snowy winters and warm, humid summers, an average January low near 18°F, an average July high near 83°F, and around 80 inches of snowfall each winter.
Late spring brings unpredictable rain and cool nights, with sites easier to book but water hookups sometimes still shut off. Summer is peak: July and August weekends fill early, especially around the Fourth of July, and it is the best time for swimming, wine tasting, and water sports. Leaf-peepers flock to the Finger Lakes state parks in fall.
Fall is the second peak. Foliage color typically runs late September into mid-October, and the Naples Grape Festival weekend saturates local lodging. Book well in advance; the third full weekend of September is one of the busiest on the entire Finger Lakes calendar. Winter camping is limited to a few year-round private sites.

How to book
Private campgrounds around Naples, including Stetson's Tumble Hill Campground, Holiday Hill Campground, Bristol Woodlands Campground, Tamarack Campgrounds, and The Finger Lakes Campground, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Summer weekends and the Grape Festival weekend routinely sell out weeks in advance, so lock in dates as early as possible.
For state park campgrounds in the wider Finger Lakes area, bookings go through the New York State Parks ReserveAmerica portal. Reservations can be made up to 9 months in advance, campsite same-day reservations are allowed until 3 p.m. on the day of arrival, and cabins, cottages, and yurts must be reserved at least one day prior to arrival.
Do not call individual state campgrounds to make a reservation; all reservations must be made using the ReserveAmerica system.
What to expect on the ground
Roads into Naples are narrow, hilly, and lined with vineyards. Big Class A rigs can make it, but check individual campground size limits before booking, since some wooded sites are tight on length and overhead clearance.
Hookup availability varies by campground. Sites in the area commonly provide clean toilets, showers, and 30-amp and 50-amp electric hookups, with dump stations for non-sewer sites. Cell service is spotty in the valleys and stronger on the ridge tops, so download maps before arrival.
Plan for cool nights even in July, biting insects in June, and dark skies away from the village. Grocery runs, laundry, and RV supplies are easiest in Canandaigua, about 20 minutes north. During the Grape Festival, expect heavy traffic on Route 21, the main road into the festival area; Saturday morning backups of 20 to 30 minutes start around 9 a.m., so arriving before 9:30 a.m. or after 1 p.m. reduces that delay.

On RVezy, travel trailers typically start around $90 to $150 per night, while Class C motorhomes generally range from $175 to $300 nightly, depending on size and season. Prices peak around late September during the Naples Grape Festival and through October leaf-peeping season, so booking a midweek stay in June or early September can often save you 20 to 30 percent. rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Naples,%20New%20YorkWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Naples, NY?
Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Naples, NY. New York State does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) or special endorsement for the motorhomes, travel trailers, and campervans you will find on RVezy. Approved drivers are generally 25 or older, and RVezy verifies your ID securely through the platform during booking, so there is no extra paperwork at pickup. Visiting from outside the US? Bring your home country license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) and you are set. Most first-time renters are surprised how quick and easy the verification process really is.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsIs RV rental insurance and roadside assistance included for my Naples trip?
Every RVezy booking in Naples comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance included, so you can hit the Bristol Hills knowing you are covered. The protection plan covers most damages to the vehicle and gives you real financial peace of mind on winding roads like Route 21 and Route 245. During checkout you choose the protection level that fits your trip, the host does not pick it for you. If you get a flat tire on the way to Grimes Glen or need a jump at the campground, one call brings help to your location any time, day or night.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat happens if I need to cancel my Naples RV rental?
Booking is low risk: RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and every reservation includes a money-back grace period right after you book. That means you can lock in your dates for the Naples Grape Festival or peak fall foliage with confidence, then adjust if life changes. The exact refund amount depends on how far out from your trip you cancel. If a host ever cancels on you, RVezy refunds your booking or offers travel credits so your trip is protected. You can review the current cancellation details on RVezy's Help Center before you confirm, or reach out to the 24/7 support team any time you have a question.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a Naples RV rental?
Absolutely, and Naples is a tail-wagger's paradise. Use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to instantly see every pet-friendly RV rental Naples has available, then message the host about your specific pup so everything is squared away before pickup. Once you arrive, dogs are welcome on leash at Grimes Glen Park, the Finger Lakes Trail through Ontario County Park at Gannett Hill, and along Naples Creek. Engine 14 Brewery right in the village is famously dog-friendly, so you can clink a pint after a hike. Pro tip: pack a towel for muddy paws after Grimes Glen, the trail follows the creek bed and adventurous pups love splashing through.
co.ontario.ny.us/187/ParksCan the RV be delivered to my campground in Naples?
Yes, RV delivery in Naples is one of the easiest ways to start your trip, especially if you are new to RVing. Many RVezy hosts will deliver right to Ontario County Park at Gannett Hill, Tumble Hill Campground in nearby Cohocton, or even a friend's driveway in the Bristol Hills, then level the rig, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before they leave. Just use the Delivery filter when searching, or message hosts to confirm fees (often priced per mile from their location). You skip the towing stress, get a full orientation, and step into a fully set-up motorhome rental Naples travelers love.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Naples,%20New%20YorkHow far can I drive on my Naples RV trip with the mileage included?
Most RVezy hosts in the Naples area include 100 to 150 free miles per night, and many offer unlimited mileage packages, which is perfect because almost every classic Finger Lakes destination is within an easy day's drive. From Naples village, Canandaigua Lake's north shore is about 25 miles, Keuka Lake State Park is around 30 miles, Watkins Glen State Park sits about 45 miles southeast, Letchworth State Park (the Grand Canyon of the East) is roughly 50 miles west, and Niagara Falls is about 110 miles. Check each listing's mileage policy on the pricing tab, and if you are planning a big loop, message the host about a higher-mileage package upfront.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Naples,%20New%20YorkWhere are the best campgrounds near Naples, NY for RVs?
Naples sits at the doorstep of some of the prettiest campgrounds in the Finger Lakes. Ontario County Park at Gannett Hill, about 15 minutes south of the village, offers RV-friendly sites and the famous Jump-Off overlook at over 2,200 feet elevation. Stetson's Tumble Hill Campground in Cohocton (about 20 minutes south) has full-hookup sites with 20/30/50-amp service and a heated pool. Keuka Lake State Park (about 30 miles east) provides electric sites near the vineyards, and Hickory Hill Family Camping Resort near Bath rounds out the options. Pro tip: book Gannett Hill cabins and RV sites through the Ontario County Parks reservation system as early as January for fall weekends.
co.ontario.ny.us/187/ParksWhen is the best time of year for an RV trip to Naples, NY?
Late June through mid-October is the sweet spot for RV camping Naples. Summer days run 75 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit with cool 55 to 60 degree nights, perfect for sitting around the campfire. The real magic, though, is the last week of September into the second week of October: the hills turn fiery red and gold, the Naples Grape Festival fills the village with grape pies and live music, and harvest season is in full swing at Inspire Moore Winery and Hazlitt's Red Cat Cellars. Spring (May to early June) is quieter and cheaper, and winter brings skiing at Bristol Mountain just 20 minutes north for adventurous RVers with four-season rigs.
weather.gov/buf/I have never driven an RV before. Will I be okay in Naples?
You are going to do great, and Naples is actually one of the friendlier places to learn. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup covering the generator, slide-outs, water systems, and dashboard controls, so you leave knowing exactly how everything works. For first time renting an RV in the area, stick with a smaller Class C motorhome or a campervan rental Naples option (under 25 feet) and you will handle Route 21 and the hills around the Bristol Valley with confidence. Avoid the steepest, narrowest climbs up to The Jump-Off in a big rig (use the main park entrance instead) and you are golden. Your host's phone is just a tap away if you have any questions on the road.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat if something goes wrong with the RV during my Naples trip?
You are never on your own. Every RVezy rental includes 24/7 roadside assistance, so whether you get a flat on Route 245, run out of fuel heading back from Watkins Glen, or need a battery jump at Ontario County Park at Gannett Hill, one phone call brings help directly to you. For anything mechanical or systems-related (think a finicky water pump or a furnace question on a chilly fall night), your host is your first call and usually responds within minutes through the RVezy app. RVezy's customer support team is also available before, during, and after your trip. Naples is small but well-served by tow operators in Canandaigua, about 15 miles north.
rvezy.com/insurance-and-protectionCan I take my Naples RV rental on a longer road trip to Niagara Falls or the Adirondacks?
Yes, a Naples RV trip makes an incredible launchpad for a wider New York road trip. Popular RV road trip from Naples routes include Niagara Falls (about 110 miles west, roughly 2 hours), the Adirondacks via Syracuse (about 175 miles northeast, around 3 hours to Lake George), the 1000 Islands along the St. Lawrence (about 175 miles north), and the Catskills (around 220 miles southeast). Cross-border travel into Canada is sometimes possible depending on the host's listing and insurance, so message the host before booking if Niagara-on-the-Lake is on your list. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental. Confirm your route in the listing's house rules and you are set to roam.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat kind of fuel mileage should I budget for my Naples RV rental?
Budgeting fuel for your RV rental in Naples is pretty straightforward. Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 miles per gallon, Class A rigs run 6 to 10 mpg, and campervans (Class B) can reach 16 to 20 mpg, mostly on regular unleaded. Gas in the Naples and Canandaigua area typically tracks near the New York State average, often around $3.40 to $3.80 per gallon, with stations along Route 21 in the village and a larger selection on Routes 5 and 20 in Canandaigua, 15 miles north. Pro tip: top off in Canandaigua before heading south, prices in tiny villages farther into the hills can run 20 cents higher per gallon.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground around Naples?
For the best campgrounds near Naples, NY, book as early as you can, especially for fall. Ontario County Park at Gannett Hill takes reservations through the Ontario County Parks system and fills up six months out for Naples Grape Festival weekend (last weekend of September) and Columbus Day weekend foliage. Keuka Lake State Park reservations open through New York State Parks' ReserveAmerica system 9 months in advance and weekends sell out fast. Private campgrounds like Tumble Hill in Cohocton often hold sites a bit longer. Pro tip: midweek availability is wide open even in peak season, so a Tuesday-to-Thursday family RV trip Naples works beautifully if your schedule is flexible.
parks.ny.gov/camping/What are the driving conditions like around Naples, NY?
Naples sits in a steep, scenic valley where Routes 21, 53, and 245 meet, so expect curvy, hilly two-lane roads with gorgeous views and the occasional tight switchback in the Bristol Hills. Summer driving is easy and pleasant, with light traffic outside of festival weekends. Fall can bring sudden fog in the mornings as the valley holds cool air, and winter occasionally adds lake-effect snow squalls rolling off Lake Ontario, so November through March driving needs extra care. There are no major highway clearance issues on local routes. Pro tip: take Route 64 north toward Bristol Mountain for a stunning ridge drive that any RV under 30 feet handles comfortably.
511ny.org/What amenities do campgrounds near Naples typically offer?
Campgrounds around Naples are well set up for RVers. At Ontario County Park at Gannett Hill you will find 30-amp electric pads, potable water fill stations, a dump station, restrooms with showers, and a large dumpster near the entrance for trash. Tumble Hill Campground in Cohocton offers 20/30/50-amp full hookups, laundry, a camp store with ice and firewood, and dog areas. Keuka Lake State Park has electric sites with shared water spigots and a centralized dump station. Most private parks include WiFi, though signal can be patchy in the deep valley. Pro tip: fill your fresh tank before leaving the campground each morning, water spigots between Naples and Watkins Glen are limited to state parks.
parks.ny.gov/parks/142/details.aspxWhat features and amenities can I expect inside a Naples RV rental?
You will feel right at home. Most RVs on RVezy in the Naples area come fully equipped with a queen or king bed, kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, and sink, a private bathroom with shower and toilet, climate control with both furnace and air conditioning, and dinette seating that often converts to extra sleeping space. Larger Class C and Class A motorhome rental Naples options typically add a TV, onboard generator, awning, and outdoor speakers for evenings at camp. Many hosts also include linens, kitchenware, and camp chairs. WiFi hotspots are increasingly common as an add-on. Check the Amenities section of each listing for the exact inventory before you book.
nps.gov/articles/rv-camping.htmWhat add-ons and pickup options should I look for when I rent an RV in Naples?
RVezy hosts in the Naples area offer a great mix of add-ons that make your trip easier. Popular extras include delivery and setup (often priced per mile from the host's location), generator hours for boondocking near Hemlock-Canadice State Forest, bedding and kitchen packages, bike racks for the Finger Lakes Trail, propane refills, and dump-and-fill service so you return the RV ready to go. Pickup is usually flexible: meet the host at their home, get delivery to your campsite, or arrange a handoff in Canandaigua. Mileage allowances vary from around 100 free miles per night up to unlimited mileage, so compare the pricing tab carefully and message the host with your route to find the best fit.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Naples,%20New%20YorkHow does payment and the security deposit work on an RVezy Naples booking?
Payment is simple and secure: you pay through RVezy's platform at booking using a credit or debit card, never directly to the host, which protects both sides. A refundable security deposit is held separately from the booking payment (amounts vary by RV) and released back to your card after the trip once the host confirms the rig was returned in good shape with the agreed fuel and tank levels. To avoid any deposit issues, take date-stamped photos at pickup and dropoff, follow the host's mileage and generator policy, and dump the tanks if that is part of your agreement. Pro tip: topping off at a station on Main Street in Naples before dropoff keeps the fuel-level question simple.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksCan I winter camp in a Naples RV rental?
Yes, and winter in Naples is a quieter, magical kind of adventure. Bristol Mountain ski resort is just 20 minutes north, Harriet Hollister Spencer State Recreation Area offers groomed cross-country ski trails, and the Bristol Hills look stunning under snow. For cold weather you will want a four-season RV with heated holding tanks, an enclosed underbelly, and a reliable furnace, so use the RVezy search filters and message hosts directly to confirm winter readiness. Plan on shore power (30-amp electric) at a winter-open site, since most state campgrounds close in mid-fall. Pro tip: Tumble Hill Campground in Cohocton stays open later in the season and pairs perfectly with a ski weekend at Bristol Mountain.
