Sodus Point sits on a small peninsula between Great Sodus Bay and Lake Ontario in Wayne County, roughly 35 miles east of Rochester. The village is a summer-focused fishing and boating community, and most RV camping clusters along the bay and the Lake Ontario shoreline rather than in the village itself. The area works well as a base for exploring the southern shore of Lake Ontario, the western edge of the Finger Lakes wine region, and the apple country inland along Route 104. Options range from full-hookup private parks to state-run campgrounds. Close-in choices include South Shore RV Park inside the village, Lake Bluff RV Park on the bluff east of town near Chimney Bluffs State Park, and Nor-Win Farm and Campsite inland among the orchards. East along the shore, Port Bay RV Park and Campgrounds sits near the mouth of Port Bay, and Twisted Creek Campground offers a quieter inland setting. For a public-land alternative, Fair Haven Beach State Park lies about 15 miles east and adds electric sites, non-electric loops, cabins, and cottages managed through the New York State Parks reservation system.
