Matt was incredible from start to finish. Replies almost immediately to all messages and questions from time of booking, leading up to the trip and during your trip. The RV was immaculate on the outside, the entire cabin, refrigerator, bathrooms, etc. And it came with everything we would need for the trip. Was our first time staying in an RV - Matt showed up promptly when he said he would (even earlier), set up everything for our stay and walked me through everything we needed to know to use and enjoy the RV for a week. I would highly recommend Matt to anyone and would certainly book with him again!

How to book campgrounds near Vernon
New York State Park campgrounds, including Verona Beach State Park, take same-day reservations until 3 p.m. on the day of arrival for campsites only; reservations can be made online or through the ReserveAmerica Call Center at 1-800-456-2267, and walk-ins are permitted on campsites only. Camping reservations can be made up to 9 months in advance.
Private parks handle their own reservations directly. Villages at Turning Stone RV Park accepts campsite bookings up to a year in advance. Cedar Valley Campsite, Cider House Campground, Mayfair Campground NY, and Treasure Isle RV Park each take reservations by phone or through their websites.
For July, August, and any weekend tied to a Turning Stone event or a Vernon Downs race card, book eight to twelve weeks out. Shoulder-season midweek stays are usually available on shorter notice.
What to expect on the ground
Sites in the area lean toward standard eastern-forest campgrounds: level pads under mixed hardwoods, gravel or paved roads, and full or partial hookups at the RV-focused parks. Each of the 175 paved sites at Villages at Turning Stone includes full hookup with 20/30/50 amp electric service, water, sewer, and cable TV. Smaller parks like Cider House Campground and Cedar Valley Campsite are quieter and more rustic, with fewer pull-throughs.
Mosquitoes and black flies peak in late spring and early summer, and visitors can expect to experience a larger than normal gypsy moth caterpillar population into mid-summer at Verona Beach State Park, which can cause tree canopy damage and a general nuisance to visitors. Cell coverage is generally solid along the I-90 corridor and thins out on rural roads south of Vernon.
Most parks are pet-friendly on leash. New York State Parks allow a maximum of two pets in campsites and day use areas, and proof of rabies inoculation shall be produced if requested by staff.
