Campgrounds and RV parks near Bladenboro, NC

Bladenboro sits in Bladen County in North Carolina's Coastal Plain, roughly halfway between Fayetteville and the South Carolina line. RV travelers use it as a base for the Cape Fear region's blackwater rivers, Carolina bay lakes, and the I-95 travel corridor. Most nearby camping is spread across two state parks and a cluster of private lakeside and interstate RV parks. The closest state-park option is Jones Lake State Park, comprised of 2,208 acres that include Jones Lake at 224 acres and Salters Lake at 315 acres, established in 1939 as one of the oldest state parks in North Carolina. To the southwest, Lumber River State Park lies about 60 miles south of Fayetteville with two access areas located about an hour from each other, offering paddling on a 115-mile river with federal designation as a National Wild and Scenic River, the only blackwater river in the state to have that honor. The Princess Ann Access is the closest to Bladenboro. Private options include Sandy Ridge Campground and RV Resort, the Lumberton / I-95 KOA Journey near the I-95 corridor, and Camp Clearwater Family Campground on White Lake, with 1,300 feet of private white sandy beach and four piers.

State-park sites at Jones Lake and Lumber River are reserved through the North Carolina State Parks reservation system. Sites can be booked online at ncparks.gov/reservations or by calling 1-877-722-6762. Reservations must be made 1 day ahead of arrival and can be made up to 6 months in advance. Each of the 20 wooded campsites at Jones Lake State Park is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring or grill, drinking water and a bathhouse are located nearby, and six campsites have full RV hookups for electric, water, and sewer. Reservations are suggested, but campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis if not reserved. Lumber River's Princess Ann Access offers primitive walk-to and group sites without hookups, so RV renters looking for hookups should target Jones Lake or a private park. Private campgrounds including the Lumberton / I-95 KOA Journey and Camp Clearwater book directly through their own websites. Summer holiday weekends at Camp Clearwater typically fill weeks ahead.
