Campgrounds and RV parks near South Webster, OH

South Webster sits in Scioto County in the unglaciated hill country of southeastern Ohio, surrounded by the rolling sandstone ridges and dense hardwood forests of the Appalachian foothills. The village is a practical base for RV travelers heading to Shawnee State Park and Shawnee State Forest to the southwest, Wayne National Forest units to the east, and the chain of small lakes scattered across Scioto, Jackson, and Pike counties. Campground options in the area range from full-service private resorts to electric-only state park loops. Jackson Lake State Park offers a small lakeside campground a short drive northeast, while Big Bear Lake Family Resort and Rockwater Campground provide private-park amenities within easy reach. Holiday Point Marina and Campground and Little Bear Island Campground round out the closest options, both oriented toward boating and family stays. Sites in this region tend to be wooded, hilly, and built around water access rather than open RV pads.

Ohio State Park campgrounds, including Jackson Lake State Park and the loops at Shawnee State Park, use the ReserveOhio system. Campsites can be reserved up to six months in advance online at reserveohio.com or by phone at 866-644-6727, with reservations available as late as the day of arrival. Summer weekends, Independence Day, and Labor Day fill earliest, so book as soon as the six-month window opens for those dates. Private parks handle their own reservations. Big Bear Lake Family Resort, Rockwater Campground, Holiday Point Marina and Campground, and Little Bear Island Campground each take bookings directly by phone or through their websites. Cancellation policies vary by park, so confirm deposit and refund terms when booking, especially for holiday weekends.
