Campgrounds and RV parks near Foster Brook, PA

Foster Brook is a small census-designated place in Foster Township, McKean County, Pennsylvania, sitting just north of Bradford along Pennsylvania Route 346. The area places RV travelers within short drives of two very different public-land systems: the Allegheny National Forest to the south and west, and New York's Allegany State Park across the state line to the north. Base camp options range from full-hookup private resorts to state-park loops. Pine Acres Golf & RV Resort sits on the outskirts of Bradford within the Allegheny National Forest region. Bettum's Idlewood Family Campground and Riverhurst Park Campground serve families looking for smaller private grounds, and Kinzua East KOA anchors the south end of the county near Kinzua Bridge State Park. Allegany State Park, the largest of New York's state parks at 65,000 acres, has two developed areas, Red House and Quaker, offering sand beaches, hiking trails, museums, and naturalist walks. Most visitors use Foster Brook as a jumping-off point rather than a destination in itself, pairing a campground stay with day trips to Kinzua Bridge, the Allegheny Reservoir, and Red House.

Reservation systems vary by land manager. Allegany State Park (Red House Area) books through ReserveAmerica on the New York State Parks system. Camping reservations can be made up to 9 months in advance. A reservation is required to camp, and no walk-up camping stays are accepted. Allegheny National Forest campgrounds book through Recreation.gov, which typically opens sites on a six-month rolling window. A limited number of first-come, first-served sites exist at some forest campgrounds. Private parks handle their own bookings. Pine Acres Golf & RV Resort takes reservations through its own site and Campspot, and generally enforces a two-night minimum on Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day weekends. Kinzua East KOA takes reservations by phone or through the KOA network. Bettum's Idlewood Family Campground and Riverhurst Park Campground book directly with the operator.
