Campgrounds and RV parks near Leith-Hatfield, PA

Leith-Hatfield sits in Fayette County in southwestern Pennsylvania, just outside Uniontown and inside the Laurel Highlands. The area is a practical base for RV travelers heading to Ohiopyle State Park, which encompasses approximately 20,500 acres of rugged natural beauty at the southern reaches of the Laurel Ridge. Most nearby campgrounds are within a 15 to 30 minute drive of the park's whitewater, waterfalls, and rail-trail access. Private options closest to town include Benner's Meadow Run Camping and Cabins and Tall Oaks Campground, both on the Route 40 and Route 381 corridors that feed Ohiopyle. The Blue Canoe RV Resort, Sand Springs Campground, and Scarlett Knob Campground Inc round out the private inventory, generally offering a mix of full-hookup RV sites, tent areas, and cabin rentals. The main public alternative is Kentuck Campground inside Ohiopyle State Park, with 200-plus campsites open April to mid-December, operated by Pennsylvania State Parks. Travelers who want hookups and amenities tend to stay private; those who want walk-to trail access tend to book Kentuck.

For state park sites at Ohiopyle, reservations go through the Pennsylvania State Parks reservation system on ReserveAmerica. Campsite reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance, and must be made at least three days ahead of arrival; the booking window opens at noon Eastern Time.
