Campgrounds and RV parks near Mount Jewett, PA

Mount Jewett is a small borough in McKean County in the Pennsylvania Wilds region, positioned between U.S. Route 6 and Pennsylvania Route 59 just east of the Allegheny National Forest. It sits at roughly 2,000 feet of elevation on the Allegheny Plateau, and the surrounding terrain is dominated by hardwood forest, deep gorges, and creek valleys. The area's headline attraction is Kinzua Bridge State Park, a 339-acre park built around the remnants of the historic Kinzua Viaduct, now the Kinzua Sky Walk. RV travelers use Mount Jewett as a base for the national forest, the Allegheny Reservoir, and the Knox and Kane Rail Trail. Private RV parks close to town include High Pines RV Park and Bettum's Idlewood Family Campground, with Pine Acres Golf & RV Resort, Kinzua East KOA, and Majestic Kamp and Lost Trails within short driving distance for full-hookup and cabin options. Expect a rural setting with limited services in the immediate area, patchy cell coverage inside the forest, and short drives between the borough, the state park, and the reservoir shoreline campgrounds.

Sites at Allegheny National Forest campgrounds are booked through Recreation.gov or by phone at 877-444-6777. The reservation window opens 180 days in advance on a rolling day-to-day basis, and designated group sites can be booked up to 365 days ahead. For three-day holiday weekends, a three-night minimum applies. A limited number of first-come, first-served sites exist at some campgrounds; availability should be confirmed with the on-site camp host, since online reservations take precedence. Kinzua Bridge State Park itself is a day-use park and does not offer overnight camping. Private campgrounds near Mount Jewett, including High Pines RV Park, Bettum's Idlewood Family Campground, Pine Acres Golf & RV Resort, Kinzua East KOA, and Majestic Kamp and Lost Trails, are booked directly with each operator. Summer weekends and fall foliage weekends fill early; book well ahead.
