Campgrounds and RV parks near Port Vue, PA

Port Vue is a small borough in Allegheny County along the Youghiogheny River near its confluence with the Monongahela, roughly 15 miles southeast of downtown Pittsburgh. The location puts RV travelers within easy reach of city attractions, the Laurel Highlands, and the interstate corridors that feed western Pennsylvania. Most RV-friendly campgrounds sit outside the borough itself, spread across the suburbs and rural townships east and south of the city. Wallace Trailer Sales and Court is the closest option, while Madison/Pittsburgh SE KOA Journey, Fox Den Acres Campgrounds, Mountain Top Campground, and Washington / Pittsburgh SW KOA Journey extend the search radius into Westmoreland and Washington counties. Each sits within about an hour of Port Vue by highway. The area blends urban day trips with mountain and river recreation. Travelers can base out of a hookup site near Pittsburgh for city visits, then move deeper into the Laurel Highlands for hiking, whitewater, and state park camping. Interstate 70, the PA Turnpike, and Route 51 handle most RV routing in and out of the region.

For Pennsylvania state parks in the region, reservations open eleven months in advance to noon of the arrival day through the Pennsylvania State Parks and Forests Reservations website or by calling 888-PA-PARKS. The eleven-month window releases at noon Eastern, which is unusual among state systems and worth setting a calendar reminder for on high-demand weekends. Private campgrounds near Port Vue, including the two KOA Journey properties and Fox Den Acres Campgrounds, book directly through their own websites or franchise portals. Holiday weekends carry longer minimum-stay requirements. Booking summer weekends by late winter is the safest way to lock in hookup sites at the KOAs and other private parks.
