Campgrounds and RV parks near Seneca, PA

Seneca sits in Venango County in northwestern Pennsylvania, along Route 257 between Oil City and Franklin. The area is part of the historic Oil Region, following the Allegheny River and Oil Creek valleys, and RV travelers use it as a base for state parks, county parks, and rail-trails that thread through the hardwood forests of the Allegheny Plateau. Private campgrounds close to town include Oil Creek Family Campground, Gaslight Campgrounds, Quiet Acres Camping, Wolfs Camping Resort, and Rustic Acres RV Resort & Campground. Options range from wooded family parks with pools and activity schedules to quieter rural sites with basic hookups. Most offer a mix of full-hookup pull-throughs, back-in sites with water and electric, and tent areas. Public camping is available at Two Mile Run County Park just north of Franklin, a 2,695-acre park with a 144-acre lake and roughly 38 miles of trails. Oil Creek State Park, north of Rouseville, provides backpacking shelters rather than developed RV sites, so most rig-based travelers stay at private grounds and day-trip into the state park.

Private campgrounds in the Seneca area are booked directly with the operator by phone or through their websites. Family parks such as Oil Creek Family Campground, Gaslight Campgrounds, Quiet Acres Camping, Wolfs Camping Resort, and Rustic Acres RV Resort & Campground fill first for holiday weekends and fall-color dates, so booking two to three months ahead is common for summer stays. Two Mile Run County Park handles campsite arrangements through the park office; sites include full-service, electric-only, and primitive options, with modern showers, restrooms, and a waste station on site. Oil Creek State Park uses the Pennsylvania state parks reservation system, which allows bookings up to eleven months ahead and requires reserving at least three days before arrival.
