Campgrounds and RV parks near West Leechburg, PA

West Leechburg sits in the Kiski Valley of western Pennsylvania, along the Kiskiminetas River in Armstrong and Westmoreland counties. The area gives RV renters access to a mix of private campgrounds set in rolling farmland and wooded ridges, plus nearby state parks and Army Corps recreation areas within a short drive. Mountain Top Campground, on Sun Mine Road in Tarentum, is one of the closer full-hookup options to West Leechburg and sits within roughly a half-hour drive northeast of Pittsburgh. Farther north in Armstrong County, Bear Ridge Campground and RV Resort is located at 345 Mt Trails Rd, Templeton, PA, on a 65-acre property of rolling hills and valleys with full hookup, 20 to 50 amp RV sites and a spring-fed fishing lake. Smaller family-run options in the immediate area include Smith Grove Camp Grounds, Wallace Trailer Sales and Court, and Wheel-in Campground near Shelocta. Together these give renters a workable base for exploring the Kiski and Allegheny river corridors without long transit days.

Private campgrounds in the area typically take reservations directly by phone or through their own websites, and several also list on third-party booking platforms. Wheel-in Campground and Bear Ridge both publish reservation pages on their own sites, and calling ahead is useful for confirming rig length, hookup type, and pet rules. Smith Grove Camp Grounds and Wallace Trailer Sales and Court are small operations best reached by phone. For Pennsylvania state parks in the surrounding region, campsites are booked through the state's central reservation system, which opens a rolling booking window several months ahead of arrival. Weekends between Memorial Day and Labor Day fill first, so renters should lock in dates as early as possible.
