Campgrounds and RV parks near Isle of Palms, SC

Isle of Palms is a barrier island on the South Carolina coast, connected to Mount Pleasant by the Isle of Palms Connector and sitting between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway. The island offers roughly six miles of beach along with the Front Beach area of shops and restaurants on Ocean Boulevard. RV travelers use the mainland as a base, since the island itself is residential and resort property with no drive-in campgrounds. The closest full-hookup options cluster in Mount Pleasant, North Charleston, Johns Island, and Ladson, all within a short drive of the beach. Mount Pleasant / Charleston KOA Holiday is the nearest KOA and puts guests roughly a quarter hour from the sand. Charleston KOA Holiday, Oak Plantation Campground, Lake Aire RV Park Campground, and Ladson RV Park round out the standard picks, each offering paved or gravel sites, hookups, and easy highway access to both the coast and the historic peninsula. Expect a mix of pull-through and back-in sites, laundry, pools, and Wi-Fi at most parks in this cluster.

Private campgrounds handle the bulk of reservations for this area. Mount Pleasant / Charleston KOA Holiday and Charleston KOA Holiday take bookings directly through the KOA website or app, with member discounts for Value Kard Rewards holders. Oak Plantation Campground, Lake Aire RV Park Campground, and Ladson RV Park book by phone or through their own websites, and some also accept reservations through third-party platforms. For summer weekends, holidays, Charleston Race Week, and the Cooper River Bridge Run, book eight to twelve weeks out. Shoulder-season and midweek stays are usually available closer in. Cancellation windows vary by park, and coastal properties often keep a separate hurricane or tropical-storm policy. Read the terms before paying a deposit.
