Campgrounds and RV parks near Lewisburg, TN

The Duck River is the region's main outdoor draw. It is one of the most biologically diverse rivers in North America, and paddlers can float, fish, and swim from access points inside Henry Horton State Park and along the Yanahli WMA corridor east of Columbia. Henry Horton itself packs a lot into a small footprint: an eighteen-hole golf course, disc golf, trap and skeet, mountain biking, hiking, and guided river floats. Cheeks Bend Bluff View Trail in the Yanahli area offers a two-mile walk along bluffs above the Duck River with an optional side trip to Rummage Cave. Off the water, Lewisburg is home to the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders' and Exhibitors' Association, and the Walking Horse country around Shelbyville is a short drive. Nashville, Franklin, and the Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg are all within an easy day trip.

Middle Tennessee has four distinct seasons. Spring and fall are the most comfortable stretches for RV travel, with mild days, cool nights, and good river conditions. Spring also brings the region's most active severe-weather period; Tennessee averages roughly twenty-one tornadoes per year, and they tend to peak in the spring. Summers are hot and humid, with average highs in the upper eighties and heat indices that can push past one hundred. Afternoon thunderstorms are common. Campgrounds run at their busiest from Memorial Day through Labor Day, and weekend sites at Henry Horton State Park frequently fill well in advance. Winters are cool with occasional cold snaps and ice events. Henry Horton stays open year-round, though the swimming pool will not reopen. Yanahli WMA is open year-round during daylight hours, with access tied to active hunting seasons; users outside vehicles must wear blaze orange or pink during deer gun and muzzleloader seasons. Private parks near Lewisburg generally operate year-round; call ahead in winter to confirm hookups and office hours.

Expect rolling, wooded terrain with limestone bluffs, cedar glades, and frequent river crossings. Cell coverage is generally solid near Lewisburg and along I-65, but can drop inside Yanahli WMA and on the more remote loops at Henry Horton. At Henry Horton, the RV campground has paved pads with water and 20/30/50-amp electric, but no sewer hookups; a dump station is on site. Sites include a picnic table, grill, lantern hook, and fire ring, and a camp store sells firewood and basic supplies. Wi-Fi is available at RV and tent sites. Pets are welcome on leash. Yanahli East is primitive: no hookups, no potable water, and no checking station. Bring everything in and pack it out. Private parks near Lewisburg typically offer full hookups, laundry, and Wi-Fi, but amenity levels vary, so confirm what is available for the site class booked.
