Nolensville camping overview
Nolensville sits in Williamson County about 20 miles south of downtown Nashville, along the SR-11/Nolensville Pike corridor. The town itself is residential and does not host large RV parks inside city limits, so most travelers base themselves at commercial campgrounds and Army Corps of Engineers parks on the surrounding I-24, I-65, and Percy Priest Lake corridors, all reachable in roughly 20 to 40 minutes.
Closest options include Nashville I-24 Campground and Four Corners RV Resort near J. Percy Priest Lake, plus Elm Hill RV Resort and Nashville Shores RV Campground closer to the Nashville metro. Rural Hill Farm offers a smaller, farm-style stay for travelers who prefer quiet acreage over a full-service park.
The area works well as a base for both city visits and outdoor days: Nashville attractions, Franklin's historic downtown, the Natchez Trace Parkway, and Percy Priest Lake are all inside a one-hour radius. Big-rig access is generally good along interstate exits, though some smaller rural sites have tight approaches worth checking before booking.
Things to do around Nolensville
J. Percy Priest Lake anchors most outdoor plans. The 14,200-acre reservoir supports fishing for largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie, striped bass, and catfish, plus boating, swimming beaches, and paddling. Long Hunter State Park on the lake's east shore adds day-hiking and shoreline trails, and the Three Hickories Nature Trail runs through nearby Cook Recreation Area.
On the cultural side, downtown Nashville, the Grand Ole Opry, and the Country Music Hall of Fame are a short drive north, while historic Franklin sits just west. The Natchez Trace Parkway offers a slow scenic drive with pull-offs and picnic areas.
For families, Nashville Shores waterpark, the Adventure Science Center, and the Nashville Zoo all sit within roughly 30 minutes of Nolensville.

Middle Tennessee has a long recreation season, but each shoulder period behaves differently. Spring runs mild and green, with wildflowers in the cedar glades and steady rain, and thunderstorms are common. Corps of Engineers campgrounds on Percy Priest Lake operate seasonally, typically April through late October, with reservations handled through Recreation.gov.
Summer is hot and humid, with July highs averaging in the low 90s Fahrenheit and afternoon thunderstorms frequent. Lake use peaks, and weekend sites at Seven Points, Poole Knobs, and Anderson Road fill early. Bring shade, insect repellent, and a plan for afternoon storms.
Fall brings the most comfortable camping weather: warm days, cool nights, lower rainfall in October, and hardwood color through November. Winter is cool rather than harsh, with occasional freezing nights and rare snow. Many Corps campgrounds close or reduce services in winter, while several private parks near Nashville stay open year-round for self-contained rigs.

Michael’s RV was excellent. His communication was prompt and clear. The RV is in good shape, drove easily, and was very clean. The snacks and coffee were appreciated and the airport pickup and drop off was incredibly smooth. I’d definitely rent from Michael again on my next trip to Seattle.

How to book a site near Nolensville
Federal campgrounds on J. Percy Priest Lake are reservable through Recreation.gov from spring to fall. The three reservable Corps campgrounds are Seven Points, Poole Knobs, and Anderson Road. Reservations typically open several months in advance, and popular summer weekends book out quickly, so plan early. The camping limit is 14 days in any 30-consecutive-day period, and this rule applies across all Percy Priest campgrounds combined.
Tennessee State Parks use the state park reservation system at tnstateparks.com. Private parks such as Nashville I-24 Campground, Four Corners RV Resort, Elm Hill RV Resort, and Nashville Shores RV Campground take direct bookings through their own websites or by phone. Smaller farm stays like Rural Hill Farm often list through platforms such as Hipcamp.
For holiday weekends and major Nashville event weeks in summer, book two to three months out at private parks and as far ahead as the system allows for Corps sites.
What to expect on the ground
Corps of Engineers campgrounds on Percy Priest Lake offer shady, spacious sites with drinking water, a dump station, flush toilets, and hot showers, plus boat ramps and swimming beaches, but Wi-Fi is not provided at these campgrounds. Sites are back-in with a two-vehicle limit, and there are no sewer hookups at the campground. No drive-thrus are permitted on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Firewood must be sourced locally due to invasive pest guidance.
Private parks closer to the interstates, including Nashville I-24 Campground and Nashville Shores RV Campground, lean toward full hookups with 30 and 50 amp service and pull-through sites suitable for larger rigs. Amenities such as pools, laundry, and Wi-Fi are more common at these commercial parks.
Cell coverage across the metro is generally strong. Watch for ticks and mosquitoes in wooded and lakeside sites from spring through early fall.
