Campgrounds and RV parks near Aspermont, TX

Aspermont sits in Stonewall County on the rolling plains of West Texas, at the intersection of US Highways 83 and 380. The town is small and rural, and most RV travelers use it as a quiet base between larger destinations like Abilene, Lubbock, and Wichita Falls, or as a stopover on cross-Texas routes. Camping options in the immediate area lean toward small, independently run RV parks with full hookups rather than large resort-style properties. Rivers4 RV Park and Weeping Willow RV Park are among the closest options, and Freedom RV Park offers additional hookup sites within reasonable driving distance. Expect basic amenities, level pads, and easy highway access rather than pools or activity programs. For state park camping, travelers typically drive to Copper Breaks State Park near Quanah, Lake Arrowhead State Park southeast of Wichita Falls, or Lake Colorado City State Park to the south. Lake Stamford, a local municipal reservoir, is the closest developed water recreation area.

Small private RV parks in and around Aspermont typically take reservations directly by phone. Availability is usually strong outside of hunting season and major holidays, but calling ahead is still recommended, especially for pull-through sites or 50-amp service. Weekly and monthly stays are common in this area due to oilfield and ranch work traffic. For Texas state parks in driving range, reservations go through the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department reservation system, online or by phone. Sites can be booked up to five months in advance, and popular weekends at Copper Breaks, Caprock Canyons, and Lake Arrowhead fill quickly for spring break and fall. A day-use entry fee applies at Texas state parks and is separate from the campsite fee. An annual Texas State Parks Pass can pay off for travelers planning multiple park visits.
