Campgrounds and RV parks near Cade Lakes, TX

Cade Lakes sits in the Brazos Valley of east-central Texas, a short drive south of Bryan-College Station and within reach of the larger Lake Somerville reservoir. The small Cade Lakes hold crappie, bass, and catfish, and the surrounding area mixes rolling pasture, oak woodland, and lakeshore. Most overnight options for RV travellers are clustered between College Station and the Lake Somerville shoreline about 30 to 45 minutes to the south. Brazos Valley RV Park and Rockdale RV Park serve travellers who want full hookups and easy highway access, while Big Creek Marina puts sites close to the water on the north side of Lake Somerville. For state-park camping, the Nails Creek and Birch Creek units of Lake Somerville State Park anchor the region, with the two units sitting on opposite shores of the lake and connected by a 13-mile trailway. The area works well as a base for Texas A&M visits, a fishing weekend, or a longer trip that combines lake time with day drives to Washington-on-the-Brazos and the Aggieland area.

Sites at the Birch Creek and Nails Creek units of Lake Somerville State Park are booked through the Texas State Parks reservation system operated by ReserveAmerica. Most overnight campsites can be reserved up to five months in advance, and the booking window opens at 8 a.m. Central Time. A day-use entrance fee applies per person aged 13 and over. Unreserved sites in either unit can be taken first-come, first-served on arrival, and a self-pay station handles late arrivals when the office is closed. Private parks including Brazos Valley RV Park, Rockdale RV Park, and Big Creek Marina take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Equestrian campers at the Nails Creek unit must present a current negative Coggins test for each horse at check-in. If a reservation holder does not check in by noon the day after the scheduled arrival, the remainder of the booking is cancelled.
