Campgrounds and RV parks near Circle D-KC Estates, TX

Bastrop State Park anchors outdoor activity in the area, with hiking trails, a seasonal swimming pool, fishing on a small park lake, and a scenic park road that connects to Buescher State Park through the Lost Pines. The park is a focal point for wildlife viewing and forest-recovery walks following the 2011 wildfire. Water-based options sit close by. Lake Bastrop, a 900-acre reservoir managed by the Lower Colorado River Authority, offers boating, fishing, and paddling access from both its north and south shore parks. The Colorado River winds through downtown Bastrop and supports kayaking and shoreline fishing. In town, visitors can browse the historic Main Street district, stop at local farmers markets on Saturday mornings, and reach a range of restaurants, shops, and family entertainment within a short drive of most area campgrounds.

Spring and fall are the strongest RV windows in Bastrop County. March through May brings wildflower bloom, comfortable daytime temperatures, and active state-park programming, while October and November offer cooler nights, lower humidity, and reliable trail conditions. Both shoulder seasons see heavy weekend demand at Bastrop State Park and the nearby lake parks, so early reservations are important. Summer is hot. Daytime highs routinely reach the mid-to-upper 90s Fahrenheit, and shaded pull-through sites plus full-hookup power for air conditioning become priorities. Afternoon thunderstorms are common, and burn bans are frequently issued across Bastrop County during dry stretches, which can restrict campfires and charcoal use. Winters are mild but variable. Most private RV parks near Bastrop stay open year-round with hookups running, and Bastrop State Park operates through the winter as well. Occasional hard freezes can prompt short-term water shutoffs at exposed hookups, and travelers should watch for cold-front rain events from December through February.

Expect a wooded, rolling landscape rather than open Hill Country terrain. The loblolly pines filling this part of rural Bastrop County are unusual in Central Texas, well west of the state's main Piney Woods region, which gives campgrounds here a shaded, forested feel uncommon elsewhere in the area. Cell coverage is generally reliable along Highway 21 and near Bastrop, with weaker pockets deeper inside the state park. Most private RV parks in the area offer full hookups and accommodate larger rigs, while state-park loops include a mix of full-hookup sites and shorter back-in sites better suited to smaller trailers and Class C motorhomes. Roads into the area are paved and easy to navigate, and services such as fuel, groceries, propane, and RV supplies are available in Bastrop, about a ten-minute drive from Circle D-KC Estates.
