Campgrounds and RV parks near Edna, TX

Lake Texana is the primary draw. Boating, fishing, shoreline birding, hiking and picnicking are all common on the reservoir, and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department lists black bass, white bass, crappie, walleye and several catfish species in the lake. Trails through mixed oak and pecan woodlands run through Authority land, and white-tailed deer, armadillos, squirrels and raccoons are frequent sightings. Coastal day trips are easy from any of the Edna-area campgrounds. Port Lavaca sits about thirty minutes southeast, with a lighted fishing pier at Lighthouse Beach and the crushed-shell shoreline at Magnolia Beach. Farther afield, Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, Goliad State Park and Palmetto State Park are all within roughly a 100-mile radius for day trips.

Edna has a humid subtropical climate. Summers are hot and oppressive with afternoon highs commonly in the mid 90s, high humidity from May through September, and pop-up thunderstorms. Winters are short and mild, with daytime highs typically in the low to mid 60s and only rare freezes, which is why the Gulf Coast draws snowbird traffic from December through March. Spring and fall are the most comfortable windows for RV travel. May is historically one of the wettest months, and September tends to be the rainiest fall month, both driven by tropical moisture. Rainfall in the Victoria and Jackson County area averages roughly 40 inches per year, though totals vary widely with tropical activity. Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30, with the Texas Gulf Coast most exposed from August into October. Coastal parks such as Lighthouse Beach RV Park can close or evacuate ahead of named storms, and inland Lake Texana sites see heavy rain and wind. Travelers booking in late summer should monitor National Hurricane Center advisories.

Brackenridge Park and Campground on Lake Texana offers full hookups with 20, 30 and 50 amp electricity, water and sewer, plus picnic tables, BBQ grills and fire rings. The complex includes air-conditioned comfort stations with showers, dumpsters, a marina building with kayak rentals, lighted boat ramps and hiking and biking trails. Some sites inherited shorter pad lengths from the former state park layout, so larger rigs should confirm length at booking. Expect mature oak and pecan shade at inland Lake Texana sites and open, sunny pads at Lighthouse Beach RV Park, which is exposed to bay breeze. Cell signal can be inconsistent at the lake. Mosquitoes and other biting insects are heavy from spring through fall, and campers should keep pets and children back from the shoreline.
