Campgrounds and RV parks near Muscoda, WI

Muscoda sits on the north bank of the Wisconsin River in southwest Wisconsin's Driftless Area, a region defined by steep hills, sandstone bluffs, and deep river valleys that escaped the last glaciation. The town serves as a practical base for RV travelers exploring the Lower Wisconsin State Riverway, Governor Dodge State Park, and the surrounding Richland and Iowa County backroads. Campground options within a short drive cover the full range of RV needs. Eagle Cave Resort LLC offers electric and water-hookup sites next to Wisconsin's largest onyx cave. Fireside Campground and Alana Springs Lodge and Campground provide private-park amenities, and Wisconsin Riverside Resort, Inc. sits along the river with paddling access. Twin Valley - Governor Dodge State Park delivers the largest public option in the area, with hundreds of sites across two campgrounds inside a state park of over 5,000 acres. Most travelers use Muscoda as a launch point for river days, cave tours, and hikes to Stephens' Falls, then return to a hookup site for the night.

For Twin Valley and the rest of Governor Dodge State Park, reservations go through the Wisconsin DNR system. Camping reservations are required for all sites and can be made for the same day of arrival or up to 11 months in advance of the planned date of occupancy. Summer weekends and holidays fill quickly, so booking as far ahead as possible is the safest approach. A vehicle admission sticker is required for each vehicle entering the park.
