Campgrounds and RV parks near Warrens, WI

Water recreation is the main draw in warm months. McMullen Memorial County Park spans more than 1,000 acres and includes 50-acre Lake Wazeda, hiking trails, a fishing pier, a boat launch, and multiple playgrounds. Self-service kayak and canoe rentals operate at the north end of the swimming beach from mid-May through early October, and gasoline engines are prohibited on the lake. Off-road riders use the nearby Jackson County ATV and UTV trail system, which connects to lodging around the village. Cranberry marsh tours operate during harvest season, and the Cranberry Discovery Center in Warrens covers the crop's history year-round. Families with younger kids often combine a campground stay with a day at one of the large indoor water park resorts a short drive from town.

The primary camping season at McMullen Memorial County Park runs from early spring through late November, with the last camping night falling on November 30 and checkout by 3 p.m. on December 1. Water systems have limited availability during April, May, October, and November, so early- and late-season RV renters should plan for cold-weather hookups. Private campgrounds around Warrens follow a similar shoulder-to-shoulder schedule tied to freeze dates. The single busiest weekend of the year is the Warrens Cranberry Festival, always held the last full weekend in September, Friday through Sunday. It draws more than 145,000 visitors over three days, and every campground within a wide radius fills months in advance. Public parking at McMullen is limited to registered campers during that weekend. Midsummer, from mid-June through August, is peak family season with warm days, active water parks, and full programming at the private campgrounds. Late September through mid-October brings cool nights and active cranberry harvest in the surrounding marshes.

Terrain around Warrens is flat to gently rolling, with sandy soil, jack pine, and open cranberry marshes rather than dramatic bluffs. Sites are generally level and easy to back into, which suits first-time RV renters. Cell coverage is reliable near I-94 and thinner in the marshes to the north and west. Mosquitoes and biting flies are noticeable from late May through July, especially near the wetlands. Screen rooms and repellent are worth packing. Fire rings and picnic tables are standard at the county and private campgrounds, and firewood is sold on site at most parks, including Aprin Cranberry Campground. Expect a family-heavy atmosphere at the resort-style parks, with pools, jumping pillows, and organized activities, and a quieter, more traditional feel at McMullen and the smaller independent campgrounds. Grocery runs, fuel, and propane are available in Warrens and in Tomah, roughly fifteen minutes south.
