We had a great 1st experience renting and RV. Yann and Julie’s RV was really clean. They let us rent all « furnished » with bed sheets/kitchen ware/towels which was very appreciated as we flew over and would not have been able to bring those items. We had one issue with the RV but we were able to sort it out. Yann and Julie were quick to reply to help us sort out the issue. We recommend their RV!

What license do I need to rent an RV in Chipman, New Brunswick?

Good news: a regular Class 5 driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Chipman, with no special RV endorsement or commercial license required in New Brunswick. You'll just need to be 25 or older to book on RVezy, and your ID is verified securely through the platform during checkout. Visiting from outside Canada? Bring your home-country driver's license along with an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your local automobile association, which is usually under $25. Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets the cancellation policy for every rent an RV in Chipman booking (hosts don't), and there's a money-back grace period right after you book so you can lock in your dates with confidence. Final terms depend on factors like how far in advance you cancel and whether unusual circumstances such as severe Maritime weather impact your trip. Pro tip: book early for the popular July to mid-September window around Grand Lake, then relax knowing RVezy's cancellation framework has your back if plans shift.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Chipman?

Absolutely. Pet-friendly RV rental Chipman options are easy to find on RVezy: just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter and you'll see hosts who welcome dogs (and sometimes cats) right in their listing. Many travel trailers around Grand Lake are pet-ready with easy-clean floors and outdoor leash hooks. New Brunswick provincial parks welcome leashed pets on most trails and at campsites, and the open shoreline of Grand Lake is perfect for a tired-out retriever. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm pet details, and pack a towel for those inevitable post-swim Salmon River shakes.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite in Chipman, NB?

Yes, RV delivery Chipman is one of the easiest ways to start your trip stress-free. Many RVezy hosts deliver and fully set up at Chipman-area campgrounds or directly to a cottage driveway on Grand Lake. They'll level the rig, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before they leave. Delivery fees usually scale with distance, so a drop-off within 20 km of the village is often the most affordable option. Pro tip: filter listings by Delivery on RVezy and ask hosts who already deliver to nearby Grand Lake campgrounds, since they know the sites well.

How far can I travel on a Chipman RV trip?

Your Chipman RV trip puts you within easy reach of New Brunswick's best scenery. Fredericton is about 90 km west (just over an hour) via Route 10, Moncton is roughly 150 km east, and Saint John sits around 175 km south. Want bigger adventure? Kouchibouguac National Park on the Acadian Coast is about 150 km northeast, and Hopewell Rocks at the Bay of Fundy is around 200 km away, perfect for a 3 to 4 day loop. Many RVezy hosts offer unlimited mileage or generous daily allowances, so always check the mileage policy on each listing. Pro tip: ask hosts directly for their best mileage package if you're planning a multi-province loop.

Where are the best campgrounds near Chipman, NB?

You're spoiled for choice. Popular campgrounds near Chipman include Mactaquac Provincial Park about 90 km west with full-service sites, a sandy beach, and an 18-hole golf course; Murray Beach Provincial Park on the Northumberland Strait for warm saltwater swimming; and several private parks around Grand Lake offering serviced sites and lake access. For an RV camping Chipman itinerary, mixing a provincial park stay with a private lakeside park gives you the best of both worlds. Pro tip: book provincial park sites through the official New Brunswick Parks reservation system as soon as it opens in spring, since waterfront spots disappear fast for July weekends.
parcsnbparks.info/en/parks

When is the best time to rent an RV in Chipman, NB?

The sweet spot for an RV rental in Chipman is mid-June through mid-September, when daytime temperatures average 22 to 26 C and Grand Lake is warm enough for swimming. July and August are peak, with the longest daylight and active marinas, while early September delivers quieter campgrounds and crisp evenings around 10 C. Late September into early October brings spectacular Acadian fall colours along the Salmon River, ideal for photographers. Winters here are cold (often -10 to -20 C with heavy snow), so most rentals run May through October. Pro tip: aim for the last two weeks of August for warm lake water, fewer bugs, and easier campground bookings.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving around Chipman?

You're going to do great. Chipman sits on quiet Route 10 with wide shoulders and very light traffic compared to bigger New Brunswick hubs, making it one of the friendliest places in the province for a first time renting an RV. Every RVezy host provides a hands-on orientation at pickup, covering driving, leveling, water, power, and waste, and you can message them anytime during your trip. If city driving makes you nervous, simply choose a delivery-and-setup host so the RV is already in place when you arrive. Pro tip: do a short practice loop on the Grand Lake Road before heading toward Fredericton or Moncton to build confidence with mirrors and turns.

What happens if I have a breakdown during my Chipman RV trip?

You're never on your own. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, so help is one phone call away whether you're parked near Grand Lake or driving Route 10 between Chipman and Minto. Your host is also typically just a text message away to troubleshoot small issues like a tripped breaker or a finicky propane stove. RVezy's customer support team is available before, during, and after every trip if you need extra help. Pro tip: save the roadside assistance number in your phone before leaving Chipman, and snap a photo of your RV's make, model, and plate for quick reference.

Can I take my RV across the border on an RV road trip from Chipman?

Yes, many RVezy hosts allow cross-border travel for an RV road trip from Chipman into Maine or other Canadian provinces, but you'll need to confirm this directly with your host before booking since coverage and approval vary. The Houlton, Maine border crossing is about 185 km west via the Trans-Canada Highway, making a New England loop very doable. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage does not extend there. Pro tip: if you're considering crossing into the US, message the host early, carry your passport and vehicle paperwork, and check Canada Border Services wait times the morning of your crossing.

How much should I budget for fuel on my Chipman RV trip?

Fuel is one of the easiest costs to plan for around Chipman. Travel trailers towed by a pickup typically get 12 to 16 miles per gallon (about 15 to 20 L/100 km), campervans get 18 to 22 mpg, and larger Class C motorhomes average 8 to 10 mpg. New Brunswick's Energy and Utilities Board sets weekly maximum gas prices, so you can preview costs before you fill up at the Chipman Irving on Main Street. A 600 km loop (Chipman to Fredericton to Hopewell Rocks and back) in a Class C usually runs $180 to $240 CAD in fuel. Pro tip: top up in Chipman or Minto since rural Route 10 has limited stations between villages.
www2.snb.ca/content/snb/en/sites/petroleum-prices.html

How far in advance should I book a campground near Chipman?

For peak July and August weekends, reserve waterfront sites at Lakeside Provincial Park or Mactaquac Provincial Park as soon as the New Brunswick Parks reservation system opens in early spring (typically late March or early April). Private parks like Glamp Camp in Waterborough and Lighthouse Cove fill quickly for long weekends but often have midweek openings even in summer. For September shoulder-season trips, two to three weeks ahead is usually plenty. Pro tip: use the official Parcs NB Parks booking site for provincial parks, and call private campgrounds directly to ask about pull-through sites that fit larger motorhomes; mentioning your RV length up front saves headaches at check-in.
parcsnbparks.info/en/reservations

What are driving conditions like around Chipman, NB?

Driving around Chipman is genuinely relaxed: Route 10 is a paved two-lane highway with light traffic, gentle curves, and short distances between services. Watch for moose and deer at dawn and dusk, especially on the forested stretches between Chipman and Minto, and slow down through small villages where speed drops to 50 km/h. Spring (April to early May) can bring frost heaves on rural roads, and winter brings snow and ice from November through March, so most RV rentals operate May to October. Pro tip: download offline maps before leaving the village, since cell coverage thins out along the back roads toward Grand Lake's eastern shore.

What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Chipman?

Campgrounds near Chipman are well equipped for a comfortable stay. Many provincial parks in the region offer serviced sites with 30-amp power and water, plus dump stations, beaches, washrooms, and showers. Mactaquac Provincial Park, about 90 km west, has full hookups (water, power, sewer) on many sites, a sani-dump, laundry, and potable water fills. Private parks around Grand Lake typically provide power and water hookups with a central dump station. Pro tip: top up fresh water and dump before leaving any serviced park, since Route 10 has limited public dump stations between Chipman and Fredericton.

What's included inside a campervan rental in Chipman?

Campervan rental Chipman options on RVezy come surprisingly well-stocked. Most Class B campervans and Class C motorhomes include a kitchen with fridge, two- or three-burner propane stove, sink, and basic cookware; a bathroom with toilet and shower (in Class B+ and C units); comfortable sleeping for 2 to 6; a furnace and roof-mounted air conditioner; and proper seatbelts for travel. Many hosts include linens, towels, outdoor chairs, and a propane BBQ. Wi-Fi and generators are common add-ons. Pro tip: in each RVezy listing, scroll to the Amenities section to confirm exactly what's included, and message the host if you need extras like a paddleboard for Grand Lake or a kid's booster seat.
tc.canada.ca/en/road-transportation

What add-ons and pickup options do Chipman RV hosts offer?

Chipman hosts make customizing your trip easy. Popular add-ons include delivery and setup (often $1 to $3 per km from the host's home base), generator use, propane refills, linen and kitchen kits, outdoor furniture, bike racks, and even kayaks or paddleboards perfect for Grand Lake. Pickup is usually a 30 to 60 minute walkthrough at the host's location, while delivery hosts handle setup at your campsite. Mileage policies vary, with many trips including 100 to 200 km per day and some hosts offering RV rental with unlimited mileage. Pro tip: list every add-on you want when you message the host so they can build a single, transparent quote before you book.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is straightforward and secure: you pay through RVezy directly using a credit card, no cash exchanged with the host. A refundable security deposit is held on your card around the start of your trip and released after a successful return, provided there's no damage or major cleaning issue. The deposit amount varies by RV and is shown clearly before you confirm your booking. Pro tip: take time-stamped photos and a short video of the RV's interior and exterior at both pickup and drop-off near the Chipman host's location, so any post-trip questions can be resolved quickly and your deposit comes back smoothly.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

Are RV rentals in Chipman available in winter, and how do I prep for the cold?

Yes, a handful of RVezy hosts around Chipman offer winter-ready rigs for snowmobilers and ice-fishing trips on Grand Lake, though most rentals run May through October. Winter-capable units typically feature heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, propane furnaces, and shore-power hookups for sustained cold. Daytime January temperatures average around -7 C and can drop below -20 C overnight, so you'll want a campground or driveway with 30-amp power. Pro tip: filter for four-season RVs, ask the host about antifreeze in the plumbing and skirting options, and pair your stay with the Chipman-area snowmobile trail network for a true Maritime winter adventure.
