RV & camper rentals in Benton, IL

An RV rental in Benton, IL is one of the most affordable ways to experience southern Illinois. On RVezy, travel trailers in the Benton area typically range from about $95 to $175 per night, while Class C motorhomes generally run between $185 and $285 per night, with larger Class A motorhomes priced higher. To save, target shoulder weeks in late April, May, September, and early October when Rend Lake demand softens, and consider midweek stays near South Marcum or Gun Creek for better nightly rates. Pro tip: filter your RVezy search by Instant Book and Delivery to find flexible hosts and compare total trip costs including mileage and generator hours.

Great news for first-time renters: for the vast majority of RVs you can rent on RVezy in Benton, your regular Class D driver's license is all you need. Illinois only requires an upgraded non-Commercial Driver's License (non-CDL) once a motorhome's Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) exceeds 16,000 pounds, which covers most travel trailers, campervans, and smaller Class C motorhomes listed locally. You must be 25 or older with a valid license, and RVezy verifies your identification through the platform during booking. Visiting from abroad? Pick up an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home auto association before your trip. Most renters are surprised how simple it is to hit I-57 and head to Rend Lake.

Yes, every RV rental in Benton booked through RVezy automatically includes a protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so you can focus on exploring Rend Lake and Shawnee National Forest instead of worrying about what-ifs. You choose your coverage level at checkout (not the host), picking the plan that matches your comfort level, and most physical damage to the RV during your trip is covered. While it isn't traditional auto insurance, it offers real peace of mind for a southern Illinois RV trip down the Shawnee Hills back roads. Pro tip: review the coverage options carefully before confirming so you understand your deductible and any exclusions like personal belongings.

You can book your RV rental in Benton with confidence because RVezy, not the individual host, sets the cancellation policy. Every booking includes a money-back grace period right after you reserve, giving you breathing room if plans change quickly. Beyond that, your refund eligibility depends on how far out from the trip you cancel and whether qualifying circumstances like severe weather apply, which RVezy reviews case-by-case. If a host cancels on you, RVezy refunds your booking or provides travel credits so you aren't left without options. Pro tip: review the current cancellation terms on RVezy before booking, and reach out to support early if your plans change so they can help find a solution.

Absolutely, a pet-friendly RV rental in Benton is easy to put together. On RVezy, toggle the Pet-Friendly filter and you'll see plenty of southern Illinois hosts who welcome dogs (and sometimes cats), often for a small cleaning fee. Once you're on the road, Rend Lake is a great destination for dog owners: leashed pets are welcome at South Marcum and South Sandusky Corps of Engineers campgrounds, and leashed pets are also allowed on most trails in Shawnee National Forest, including the Observation Trail at Garden of the Gods. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm pet rules and share your dog's size so check-in goes smoothly.

Yes, RV delivery is one of the easiest ways to start your Benton RV trip stress-free. Many RVezy hosts in the Benton and Franklin County area will drop the RV right at your campsite at South Marcum, South Sandusky, Gun Creek, or Wayne Fitzgerrell State Park, then level it, connect water and power, and walk you through every system. That's a huge win for first-time RV renters or for travelers flying into Williamson County Regional Airport (MWA) about 25 minutes south in Marion. Delivery fees vary by distance, so filter listings by Delivery and message the host with your campground name to get an exact quote.
