Excellent experience renting this camper. It was all set up ready to go when we arrived at our camp site and it was very spacious for my family. The outside kitchen with mini fridge and Blackstone grill was very convenient. I cooked breakfast on it both mornings. Thanks for a great experience at Brushy Creek Ranch!

You just need to be 25 or older with a valid driver’s license to rent an RV in Louisiana, no special endorsements or commercial license required! RVezy makes verification easy: just upload your ID during booking and you’re ready to cruise the bayous or roll down the Great River Road. First time? If you cancel within 24 hours of the host accepting your booking and your payment being made, you get a full refund (as long as that is more than 24 hours before your trip). After that, refund amounts depend on when you cancel: more than 30 days before, you forfeit only the service fee; 30 to 8 days before, 50% of the rental plus the service fee; 7 days or less, the full rental and service fee. If the host cancels your booking, you receive a full refund with no penalties, or you can choose RVezy credits plus a bonus. Can I bring my pet on a Louisiana RV rental?

Absolutely! Pet-friendly RV rental in Louisiana is easy to find, just use the ‘pet-friendly’ filter on RVezy. You’ll find plenty of RV owners who welcome dogs, and Louisiana is filled with great pet-friendly spots, like Fontainebleau State Park’s lakeside trails. Just check each listing for any pet fees or rules and you can adventure with your four-legged sidekick.

Do I have to drive the RV myself, or can it be delivered and set up in Louisiana?

You don’t have to drive at all, many RV owners offer RV delivery in Louisiana! Choose a campground near Lafayette, Baton Rouge, or even your driveway, and the host will bring the RV, set it up, and walk you through the basics. This is perfect for first-timers or festival-goers who want to skip towing and start relaxing. Relax and enjoy Cajun country, no stress about navigating bridge clearances.

How far can I take my Louisiana RV rental? Any mileage tips?

Louisiana’s top destinations are closer than you think, a motorhome rental in Louisiana can easily reach places like Grand Isle (110 miles from Baton Rouge), the Kisatchie Forest (150 miles from New Orleans), or the Creole Nature Trail (200 miles). Each host sets mileage limits, so check your listing for specifics. For a true Louisiana RV road trip, ask about unlimited mileage options if you’re planning to wander the entire state.

Where can I park or camp my RV in Louisiana?

RV camping in Louisiana is full of options! Top picks include Lake Fausse Pointe State Park near St. Martinville (waterfront sites), Bayou Segnette State Park near New Orleans (great for city access), and Bogue Chitto State Park (rolling hills and river tubing). For overnight parking in cities, Louisiana law prohibits parking in public rest areas overnight, but many Walmarts and truck stops welcome RVers. Always ask at the specific location first.

When’s the best time to plan an RV trip to Louisiana?

Spring and fall are perfect for an RV rental in Louisiana, March to early May and late September through November bring warm days (70s-80s), lower humidity, and lively festivals statewide. Summer can get steamy (90+ and humid) with afternoon storms, so plan for campground shade and A/C time if traveling then. Winter RV trips are popular too, as freezes are rare and many state parks are open year-round.

Is renting and driving an RV in Louisiana good for first-timers?

Louisiana is a fantastic place for your first time renting an RV. Roads around Lafayette and Baton Rouge are mostly flat, and owners give you a personal walkthrough at pickup, so you’ll feel ready to roll. Take it slow on some narrow historic town streets, but you’ll find friendly hosts happy to answer questions. Many first-time RV rental Louisiana guests love starting in Lake Charles or New Orleans and taking short trips to state parks.

What happens if my RV has a flat or I need help on the road during my Louisiana RV trip?

Roadside help comes free with every RVezy rental in Louisiana! If you ever get a flat tire near the Atchafalaya Basin, lock your keys in the RV, or run into trouble anywhere on your route, just call the 24/7 assistance number provided with your booking. Help typically arrives quickly, even in remote bayou country, and you’ll be back on the road before you know it. Focus on exploring, not worrying.

Can I take my Louisiana RV rental out of state or cross into another country?

You’re free to take your RV for an epic road trip from Louisiana to nearby states like Texas, Mississippi, or Arkansas with your host’s permission, just check the listing or ask directly. Heading to Canada requires specific approval and arrangements, and trips to Mexico are not covered by protection packages. Some classic RV road trip from Louisiana routes include following the Great River Road up to St. Louis or exploring the Gulf Coast to Pensacola.

How do I budget for fuel on an RV rental in Louisiana?

Fuel up knowing most RVs in Louisiana get 8 to 12 mpg, so a roundtrip from Lafayette to Grand Isle (200 miles) might run about $60-$90 in gas, depending on local prices. Gas stations are plentiful along main highways, but plan ahead for remote routes. Booking a campervan rental Louisiana model can stretch your mileage if you want to keep costs down.

How far ahead should I book a campground in Louisiana and what’s the reservation system?

For Louisiana’s most popular campgrounds, like Lake Fausse Pointe or Chicot State Park, booking two to three months ahead is smart, especially for festivals or spring weekends. Reservations for state parks are made through the official Louisiana State Parks website, and many private campgrounds use ReserveAmerica. For spur-of-the-moment trips, look for first-come sites at smaller parks. Your perfect spot is just a few clicks away.

What are local driving conditions like for RVs in Louisiana?

Routes in southern Louisiana are mostly flat, but heavy rain can cause occasional flooding on lowland highways. Major metros like New Orleans see traffic delays during rush hour, and some old city streets are narrow with lower branches, use caution in French Quarter or historic areas. If you’re nervous about city driving, take advantage of RV delivery in Louisiana to your campground or designated parking spot.

What kind of hookups and amenities do Louisiana campgrounds offer for RVs?

Most major campgrounds in Louisiana, like Pontchartrain Landing in New Orleans and Lakeside RV Park near Baton Rouge, offer full hookups (electric, water, and sewer), dump stations, and hot showers. State parks typically have at least water and electric sites plus picnic tables and fire rings. Rest assured, you’ll find easy access to dump stations before heading home from your RV camping Louisiana adventure.

What amenities come with an RV rental in Louisiana?

Most RV rentals in Louisiana come fully loaded, think real beds, a kitchen with fridge and microwave, bathroom with shower, A/C, and sometimes TVs or Wi-Fi. Seatbelts for road safety and basics like cookware, bedding, and outdoor chairs are often included. Check your listing for details, and ask your host if you need specific gear (like a bike rack). Your Louisiana RV trip can be as comfy as home, just pack your snacks and hit the road.

Can I add extra features or choose different mileage plans on Louisiana RV rentals?

Yes! Many RV owners in Louisiana offer useful add-ons like kitchen kits, kayak rentals, camping chairs, or even firewood. If you want unlimited mileage for a longer road trip, select that filter when you search. Some hosts offer flexible pickup (from your home, an airport, or a campground) and extra driver options, just pick the combination that fits your Louisiana adventure.

How do payments and security deposits work for RV rentals in Louisiana?

Paying for your Louisiana RV rental is secure and straightforward. You pay through RVezy when you book; if you book more than 37 days ahead, you can pay a 25% deposit first and the rest 37 days before departure. A security deposit is held as a temporary authorization 3 days before your trip starts (no charge at booking) and is released 7 days after you return the RV, unless a claim is submitted. The deposit protects both you and the owner. For a smooth experience, treat the RV like your own and return it in the same condition.
