The awning was not operational. And was not told until pick up. Was told he is waiting on parts to repair. We had to buy a 10x10 pop up canapy. There was also a soft spot in the bathroom by the shower. We did not use the bathroom. We used the RV park restrooms. Other than that it was great!

What is the cancellation policy if my Carencro RV trip plans change?

Booking is low-risk because RVezy sets the cancellation policy, not the host, and it is the same across every listing. Refunds depend on how far out from your trip you cancel. If a hurricane or tropical storm threatens your travel window (Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30), contact RVezy support and they'll walk you through your options. Full details are available on the RVezy Help Center, so you don't need to compare fine print between listings. Lock in your dates now and adjust later if your plans change.

Can I bring my dog on a Carencro RV rental?

Yes, pet-friendly RV rental in Carencro is easy to find. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy and you'll see motorhomes and travel trailers from local hosts who welcome four-legged guests (some ask for a small pet fee, listed right on the page). Once you're on the road, your pup will love the open grassy walking areas at Bayou Wilderness RV Campground, and nearby Acadiana Park Nature Station in Lafayette has shaded trails along the Vermilion River. Many local restaurants with patios, especially along Johnston Street, welcome dogs too. Pro tip: pack a cooling mat, since Louisiana humidity is intense and dogs feel it fast.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground or rental house in Carencro?

Yes, RV delivery in Carencro is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-timers. Many Lafayette Parish hosts will drive the RV straight to Bayou Wilderness RV Campground, Lafayette KOA Holiday, your vacation rental driveway, or a festival campsite, then level it, hook it up, and walk you through every system before they leave. Filter for Delivery on the listing page and message the host with your destination address to confirm the fee (typically based on mileage from their location). It's the easiest way to skip the stress of towing or maneuvering a large rig through unfamiliar streets.

When is the best time of year to rent an RV in Carencro?

Spring and fall are the sweet spots for a Carencro RV trip. From mid-March through May, daytime highs sit in the comfortable 70s and 80s with crawfish boils, Festival International (April), and the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival in full swing. October and November bring cooler 60s to 70s and mostly dry, sunny skies, ideal for hiking and tailgating Ragin' Cajuns football. Summers (June through September) are hot and humid with highs near 91°F and frequent afternoon thunderstorms, plus Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30. Winters are mild with lows in the 40s, so RVs run year-round here, just pack layers. Insider tip: late February visits often catch Mardi Gras parades without summer mosquitoes.

I've never driven an RV before. Is renting in Carencro a good idea?

Carencro is a great place for first time renting an RV. The town sits just off I-49 with flat terrain, wide rural roads, and no mountain passes or tight urban canyons to navigate. Every RVezy host provides a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through the generator, slide-outs, tanks, propane, and driving tips before you leave the driveway. You can also message the host through the platform with questions before you book. Nervous about the size? Choose a Class C motorhome or campervan rental in Carencro under 25 feet, since they drive much like a large truck. Pro tip: do a short practice loop in a large, empty parking lot before hitting the highway.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirements

What happens if I break down or have an issue during my trip?

You're never alone on the road. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance, so if you get a flat on US-90, run low on fuel near Henderson Swamp, or have a battery die at Lake Fausse Pointe State Park, one phone call gets help dispatched to your location. Roadside assistance covers tows, jump-starts, lockouts, tire changes, and emergency fuel delivery anywhere in Louisiana. For mechanical questions, your host is also just a message away through the RVezy app, since they know their RV best. RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: save the roadside number in your phone before you leave Carencro so it's there when you need it.

Can I take my Carencro RV rental across state lines or into Texas?

Yes, interstate travel is allowed. Most hosts welcome trips into neighboring Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, and Florida. Popular RV road trip from Carencro routes include the Gulf Coast drive to Gulf Shores, AL (about 5 hours east) or Galveston, TX (about 4.5 hours west), plus inland adventures along the Natchez Trace Parkway. Confirm out-of-state travel with your host before booking, since a few may set state limits in their listing. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance and protection coverage don't extend across that border. Cross-border trips to Canada may be possible with host and RVezy approval. Within the U.S., your options are virtually endless.

How much should I budget for fuel on a Carencro RV trip?

Louisiana is one of the more fuel-friendly states for RVers, since gas prices in the Lafayette area typically run below the national average. Class B campervans average 18 to 22 miles per gallon (MPG), Class C motorhomes about 10 to 14 MPG, and Class A motorhomes 7 to 10 MPG. For a 300-mile round trip in a Class C, budget roughly $90 to $120 in fuel at current prices. Diesel pumps suitable for big rigs are easy to find at Pilot and Love's stations along I-10 and I-49 near Scott and Lafayette. Pro tip: use a fuel price app to find cheaper fill-ups in Crowley or Opelousas just minutes off your route, since savings add up fast on a week-long trip.

How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Carencro?

Booking ahead is smart, but you've still got flexibility. Louisiana State Parks like Lake Fausse Pointe, Chicot, and Palmetto Island accept reservations well in advance through the official Louisiana State Parks reservation system, and weekends from March through May (festival and crawfish season) often fill 3 to 6 months ahead. Private parks like Bayou Wilderness RV Campground, Lafayette KOA, and Cajun Palms typically need 4 to 8 weeks of lead time for peak weekends, but mid-week sites are often available with just a few days' notice. Pro tip: if you're heading down for Festival International in April or Mardi Gras in February, book your campsite the same day you book your RV, since they fill even faster than hotels.

What are the driving conditions like around Carencro?

Driving an RV in and around Carencro is refreshingly easy. The town sits on flat Acadiana prairie just off I-49, with wide highways, no mountain grades, and minimal traffic outside Lafayette rush hours (7 to 9 AM and 4 to 6 PM weekdays). Watch for two local quirks: summer thunderstorms can dump heavy rain quickly between June and September (pull over if visibility drops), and elevated bridges over the Atchafalaya Basin on I-10 east of Henderson can get gusty in big rigs. Avoid driving tall RVs through downtown Lafayette's older streets, stick to I-10, I-49, US-90, and LA-182. Pro tip: time your departure to skip the I-10 Whiskey Bay bridge between 7 and 9 AM weekday mornings.

What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Carencro?

Local RV parks are well-equipped for a comfortable stay. Bayou Wilderness RV Campground, Lafayette KOA, and Cajun Palms typically offer full hookups (30/50 amp electric, water, and sewer at the site), Wi-Fi, laundry, pools, and on-site dump stations, so you rarely need to break camp to empty tanks. Louisiana State Parks like Lake Fausse Pointe and Palmetto Island have water and electric at sites plus centrally located dump stations and potable water fills near the entrance. Need to top off water or dump mid-trip? Many Pilot and Flying J truck stops along I-10 near Scott and Duson have RV dump and freshwater fills. Pro tip: bring a 25-foot drinking-water hose, since some pull-throughs are spaced wider than you'd expect.

What features and amenities come with a typical Carencro RV rental?

You'll be more comfortable than you might expect. Most motorhome rental Carencro options on RVezy come fully equipped: queen or king bed, fully stocked kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, sink, basic cookware), private bathroom with shower and toilet, roof-mounted air conditioning (essential for Louisiana summers), heating, dinette, and seatbelted seating for travel. Many include a generator, outdoor speakers, TV, and Wi-Fi hotspot, and some offer bikes, kayaks, or outdoor grills as add-ons. Class C motorhomes typically sleep 4 to 7, while travel trailers and Class A rigs can sleep up to 10 for a family RV trip Carencro adventure. Pro tip: filter by Sleeps count to match your group size, and message hosts about linens, since many include sheets and towels at no extra cost.

What add-ons and pickup logistics should I expect when I rent an RV in Carencro?

Hosts make pickup easy and customizable. Most Carencro and Lafayette RVezy hosts offer pickup at their home base with a 30 to 60 minute orientation walkthrough, plus optional add-ons like generator hours, propane refills, linens and kitchen kits, bike racks, outdoor furniture, and camping gear bundles, all listed with prices right on the listing. Delivery is also widely available (often free within a short radius and fee-based beyond). Standard mileage allowances run 100 to 150 miles per night, with extra miles available for purchase. Pickup is typically late morning and dropoff mid-morning to give hosts time to clean between trips. Pro tip: ask about a propane top-off add-on, since it's affordable and one less stop on day one.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple, secure, and handled in one place. When you book an RV in Carencro through RVezy, you pay the rental cost, protection plan, and any add-ons directly through the platform with a credit card, no cash or third-party payment apps. A refundable security deposit is held separately at the start of your trip (the amount varies by RV and is shown on the listing before you book) and released back to your card after dropoff once the host confirms the RV came back in good shape. To avoid any hiccups, do a video walk-around with your host at pickup and dropoff, take photos of fuel and propane levels, and keep all communication inside the RVezy app.

What's a local insider tip for making my Carencro RV trip unforgettable?

Here's a tip many visitors miss: Carencro sits at the northern edge of Lafayette Parish, putting you about 10 minutes from world-class Cajun and Creole food. Start with a boudin breakfast at Don's Specialty Meats in Scott (the official Boudin Capital of the World, about 8 miles west), catch live zydeco at Whiskey River Landing on Sunday afternoons in Henderson (about 20 miles east), and tour Vermilionville living history museum on the Bayou Vermilion. Time your trip to a Saturday and visit the Lafayette Farmers and Artisans Market at Moncus Park. Pro tip: most RV parks here are 5 to 10 minutes from I-49, so you can base in Carencro and day-trip the whole Acadiana region without moving your rig.
