2020 Thor Motor Coach Class C
As a first time RVer I was very, very nervous to take the RV and hit the road. However, the main thing Luna and Summer said was that we were their priority and if I had any issues, to call them and they would be there for support. That is exactly what they did. Every time I had a question or problem, all of the problems I had were my user error, they answered my call or text immediately and walked me through it. I am forever grateful on that end. The RV rode very well in the Tennessee mountains and across multiple states. All systems operated as they should. My family's favorite part of our 11 day journey was the RV. I was able to watch and enjoy my family on some pretty long stretches road. They were comfortable and happy and that's all i could ask for. Thank you guys for a great trip!

A regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Petal, Mississippi. You're going to do great, and you won't be on your own. For a first time renting an RV in Petal, many travelers choose delivery so the host sets everything up at the campsite. You can also message your host any time during the trip with questions. Pro tip: pick a smaller Class C motorhome or campervan for your first trip, and book two nights at Paul B. Pro tip: snap photos of the RV at pickup, save your host's number and the RVezy support line in your phone, and know your campsite address before you leave the lot.

Yes, interstate travel is totally fine and one of the best parts of an RV road trip from Petal. Mississippi sits at a crossroads, so popular routes include Gulf Shores, AL (about 2.5 hours), New Orleans, LA (under 2 hours), Memphis, TN (around 5 hours), and the Florida Panhandle's Pensacola Beach (3 hours). Travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the host and protection package, so message them directly before booking if that's your plan. Travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance coverage doesn't extend there. Pro tip: confirm any cross-border plans in writing through RVezy messaging so everyone's on the same page.

Expect roughly 8 to 10 MPG for a Class A, 10 to 14 for a Class C, and 15 to 20 for a campervan rental Petal travelers love. A round trip from Petal to the Gulf Coast (about 150 miles) in a Class C runs roughly $40 to $55 in fuel at current Mississippi pump prices. What are the driving conditions like around Petal, MS?

Great news: Petal driving is mostly easy and beginner-friendly. The main routes (US-98, MS-42, and I-59) are wide, well-maintained, and flat, with no mountain passes or tight tunnels to worry about. Watch for summer thunderstorms that can roll in fast between June and August, and slow down on the two-lane country roads through DeSoto National Forest where deer crossings are common at dawn and dusk. Downtown Hattiesburg has a few low railroad underpasses, so stick to US-98 if you're driving a tall Class A. Pro tip: check the Mississippi Department of Transportation's MDOT Traffic app before driving, especially during hurricane season evacuations.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure. When you book your RV rental in Petal, MS on RVezy, you pay the rental total through the platform using a credit or debit card, no cash handoff with the host. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment (typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV) and released after the trip once the host confirms the rig was returned clean, on time, and undamaged. The protection plan you choose at checkout limits your out-of-pocket exposure if anything goes wrong. Pro tip: do a quick walkaround video at pickup and dropoff, dump the tanks and refuel before returning, and your deposit usually lands back on your card within a few business days.

How do I handle the summer heat in a Petal RV?

With a little planning, summer in Petal is totally doable and a lot of fun. July and August highs hover in the low 90s with high humidity, so pick a listing that mentions a newer or dual roof AC unit, and request shaded sites at Paul B. Johnson State Park or Hattiesburg/Okatoma River KOA. Run the AC on shore power (50-amp is best for bigger rigs), drive in the cooler morning hours, and keep window shades drawn during peak afternoon sun. Afternoon thunderstorms are common, so secure your awning. Pro tip: cool off by tubing the Okatoma Creek, a beloved local float trip just 30 minutes north, and you'll forget the heat entirely.
