RV rental in Berlin, NH is affordable compared to bigger New England gateway cities. On RVezy, travel trailers typically range from about $90 to $160 per night, Class C motorhomes from $175 to $275 per night, and Class A motorhomes from $250 to $400 per night. Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Berlin, NH?

Great news for first-time renters: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Berlin. New Hampshire's standard Class D operator license covers any vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,000 pounds or less, which includes virtually every campervan, Class C motorhome, travel trailer, and fifth wheel on RVezy. No commercial driver's license (CDL) and no RV endorsement required. You'll need to be 25 or older, and RVezy verifies your ID right in the app, so there's no extra paperwork at pickup. Visiting from abroad? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home auto club along with your home license and you're set for your White Mountains adventure.

What protection and roadside assistance is included with my Berlin RV rental?

You are covered from the moment you book. Every motorhome rental in Berlin booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so a flat tire on Route 16 or a dead battery at Dolly Copp Campground is just a phone call away. RVezy offers multiple protection plan tiers, and you choose the level of coverage during checkout, with higher tiers reducing your out-of-pocket exposure on most damages. Pick your tier when booking, save the roadside number to your phone, and focus on the White Mountains scenery.

What if I need to cancel my Berlin RV trip?

Booking with confidence is the point. RVezy sets the cancellation policy platform-wide (not individual hosts), and it includes a grace-period window after booking where you can cancel for a full refund, plus additional protections tied to how far out from your trip you cancel. If a host cancels, guests receive a refund or travel credit. You will not see a cancellation policy on the listing itself because it is handled platform-wide. If life happens before your Berlin RV trip, reach out through your RVezy dashboard and the support team will walk you through your options.

Can I bring my dog on a pet-friendly RV rental in Berlin, NH?

Absolutely, and Berlin is a dream for dog owners. Many RVezy hosts offer pet-friendly RV rental in Berlin, NH; just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on the search page to see them instantly. Once you're here, your pup can roam leashed at Jericho Mountain State Park, splash along the Androscoggin River, and join you on the easy 0.8-mile Mount Jasper trail right from downtown. Most state-park campgrounds in New Hampshire welcome leashed pets at no extra charge. Pro tip: pack a towel and a long lead, the swimming hole at Moose Brook State Park in nearby Gorham is a favorite cool-down spot after a hike.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground in Berlin?

Yes, and RV delivery in Berlin is one of the smartest moves for first-time renters. Many RVezy hosts will drive the rig to Jericho Mountain State Park, Moose Brook State Park, White Birches Camping Park, or even a private driveway in town, then level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before they leave. That means you skip the highway learning curve entirely on your first day. Filter listings by Delivery, message the host with your campground name and dates, and confirm the delivery fee upfront, which is usually based on round-trip mileage from the host's location.

How far can I drive on a Berlin RV trip, and do hosts offer unlimited mileage?

You've got plenty of road to explore from Berlin. Hosts set their own mileage policies on RVezy, and many include 100 to 150 free miles per night, with some offering RV rental with unlimited mileage, perfect for a longer RV road trip from Berlin. To put that in context: it's only about 22 miles to the Mount Washington Auto Road, 35 miles to North Conway shopping, 60 miles to Franconia Notch State Park, and roughly 90 miles to Portland, Maine. Check the mileage allowance on the listing before booking, and if you're planning a bigger loop through the White Mountains, message the host to negotiate an unlimited-mileage add-on.

Where are the best campgrounds near Berlin, NH for RV camping?

You're spoiled for choice. Top picks for RV camping in Berlin include Jericho Mountain State Park Campground, right in town with direct access to 7,400 acres of ATV trails; Moose Brook State Park in neighboring Gorham, known for shaded sites and a private swimming basin; White Birches Camping Park in Shelburne, big-rig friendly with full hookups and mountain views; Dolly Copp Campground in the White Mountain National Forest, one of the largest in the federal system; and Jericho Gateway Family Campground, a 300-acre private park with trail access. Pro tip: book Jericho sites through the New Hampshire State Parks reservation system as soon as the window opens for summer weekends.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip in Berlin, NH?

Berlin's sweet spot runs from late May through mid-October, when daytime highs sit in the comfortable 65-80°F range and every state-park campground is open. July and August are peak, with warm days, swimmable rivers, and the famous Jericho ATV Weekend in early August. Late September into the first week of October is the magic window for fall foliage, when the maples lining the Androscoggin Valley turn unreal shades of red and orange. Winters are real winters here (January averages hover near 10°F with 87+ inches of annual snow), so most campgrounds close by late October. For a balance of weather and value, target the second week of September.

Can I rent an RV in Berlin, NH in winter for a ski or snowmobile trip?

Yes, winter RV rentals in Berlin are absolutely possible, and the area is a snowmobiling and skiing paradise with direct access to the Ride the Wilds trail network. Look for listings tagged as four-season or winterized, which means heated holding tanks, enclosed underbellies, and a furnace built for sub-zero nights. You'll typically rely on shore power at a winter-open park (a handful in Coos County stay open seasonally) or in a heated driveway. Message the host before booking to confirm propane is full and tanks are protected. Pro tip: pair your stay with a Mount Washington Snowcoach ride at Great Glen Trails for a memorable winter day.

I'm first time renting an RV. Will I get help figuring it out?

You will not be left guessing. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup or delivery, covering the propane, generator, slide-outs, awning, water hookups, dump valves, and any quirks unique to that rig. It usually takes 30 to 60 minutes, and most hosts encourage you to record video on your phone. You can also message the host directly from the listing before booking with any questions, and RVezy support is available to help. Pro tip for Berlin first-timers: pick a Class C motorhome under 28 feet, your first drive on Route 16 toward Pinkham Notch is winding but very manageable in a mid-size rig.

What happens if something goes wrong with the RV during my trip?

Help is one call away, 24 hours a day. Every Berlin RV rental on RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the renter protection plan, covering flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, towing, and mechanical issues. If something breaks mid-trip, call the roadside number, then message your host through the RVezy app so they are in the loop. Berlin sits about 90 minutes from Conway and two hours from Lincoln for major service, but local mechanics in Gorham handle most quick fixes. Pro tip: snap a photo of the dashboard, tire labels, and propane tank at pickup so you can share details fast if you ever need help.

What are popular road trip routes from Berlin, NH?

Berlin is one of the best launchpads in the Northeast. Popular RV road trip routes from Berlin include the Mount Washington Auto Road loop via Route 16 (about 22 miles south), the Kancamagus Highway through Lincoln and Conway (roughly 75 miles of designated scenic byway), the Great North Woods circuit up to Pittsburg and the Connecticut Lakes (around 100 miles north), and a coastal swing to Portland, Maine (about 90 miles southeast). Crossing into Canada is allowed on many listings but requires advance host approval and proof of coverage; travel to Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental. Confirm border plans with your host at least a week before pickup.
fhwa.dot.gov/byways/byways/2280

What's the fuel cost and MPG like for an RV trip from Berlin?

Budgeting fuel is easier than you'd think. Expect roughly 7 to 10 MPG for a Class A, 10 to 14 MPG for a Class C, and 16 to 20 MPG for a Class B campervan or a tow setup pulling a small travel trailer. New Hampshire gas prices typically run slightly below the national average, and Berlin has several stations along Main Street and Route 16 with diesel pumps tall enough for RV clearance. For a 4-day, 300-mile loop through the White Mountains in a Class C, plan around $100 to $140 in fuel. Pro tip: top off in Berlin or Gorham before heading deep into the Great North Woods, stations thin out fast past Errol.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Berlin?

Earlier is better, but you've got options. New Hampshire State Parks open campground reservations on a rolling basis up to 11 months in advance through their ReserveAmerica-powered system, and prime summer weekends at Jericho Mountain and Moose Brook fill quickly, especially around Jericho ATV Weekend in early August and peak foliage in late September. For July and August, aim to book by March; for shoulder-season midweek stays, you can often score a site two to four weeks out. Private parks like White Birches and Jericho Gateway take direct bookings and tend to have more last-minute flexibility. Pro tip: set a calendar alert for the reservation window opening.
nhstateparks.org/things-to-do/camping

What are driving conditions like around Berlin, NH?

Driving here is scenic and very manageable with a little awareness. Berlin sits in the Androscoggin Valley with mostly two-lane state highways (Route 16 north-south, Route 2 east-west) that are well-maintained and RV-friendly. Watch for moose at dawn and dusk; this is one of New Hampshire's highest moose-collision zones, so the posted nighttime caution is real. Steep grades on Route 16 toward Pinkham Notch reward you with low gears and engine braking. In winter, expect plowed but snow-packed roads November through April. Pro tip: avoid driving the Mount Washington Auto Road in a rental RV; height and brake restrictions apply, so park at the base and take the guided van tour.

What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Berlin?

You'll find a good range. State park campgrounds like Jericho Mountain and Moose Brook offer drinking water spigots, flush toilets, hot showers, and a mix of unhooked, electric-only, and (at some private parks) full-hookup sites. Dump stations are available at Moose Brook State Park, White Birches Camping Park, and Dolly Copp. Cell signal is solid in Berlin and Gorham, spottier as you head north toward Errol. Most parks have firewood for sale on site; transporting outside firewood is restricted in New Hampshire to prevent invasive pests. Pro tip: fill your fresh-water tank in town before heading to Jericho since some sites are water-access-only, not piped.
nhstateparks.org/find-parks-trails/moose-brook-state-park

What's included inside a typical Berlin RV rental?

Most RVs come ready to camp. A standard Class C motorhome rental in Berlin sleeps 4 to 6 with a queen bed, dinette conversion, and overhead cab bunk, plus a full kitchen (fridge, freezer, stove, microwave), a wet bath with toilet and shower, air conditioning, a furnace for those cool White Mountain nights, and seatbelts for every passenger while driving. Many hosts include linens, cookware, outdoor chairs, and a generator; some upgrade with TVs, WiFi hotspots, or solar. Each listing spells out exactly what's included. Pro tip: filter by Sleeps and Generator if you're planning to boondock at Jericho's overflow sites or unhooked state-park loops.
nhtsa.gov/road-safety/seat-belts

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about for my Berlin rental?

Hosts offer plenty of ways to customize your trip. Common add-ons for a campervan rental in Berlin include linen and kitchen kits ($25-$75), generator hours, bike racks, kayaks, extra propane, and prepaid dump and refill services. Pickup is usually at the host's home in Berlin, Gorham, Milan, or Shelburne, though delivery to local campgrounds is widely available. Round-trip rentals are standard; one-way trips are possible if a host agrees, so message them directly from the listing. Mileage allowances and pet fees are shown on each listing. Pro tip: book the linen kit if you're flying into Portland or Manchester; it saves you packing bulky bedding.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

The process is straightforward and secure. You pay for your Berlin RV rental directly through RVezy using a credit or debit card on the platform, never in cash to the host. A refundable security deposit is pre-authorized (not charged) on your card before pickup, typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the rig, and released after the host confirms the RV came back in good shape. The protection plan you select reduces your exposure if minor damage happens. Pro tip: do a time-stamped walk-around video at pickup and drop-off on your phone. It is the single best way to keep your deposit return smooth and fast.
