Renting an RV can feel very overwhelming when you don’t know where to start. However, I found one that perfectly fit all the needs for my family. We’ve rented before, but Armando still took the time to give us an extensive walkthrough of his RV. It felt like a warm, peaceful space for the weekend, we were able to enjoy hot meals, a hot bath, and truly relax. Overall, it was an absolutely peaceful weekend.

Here’s a polished rewrite of your review: --- Matt was an outstanding host. He was flexible when I needed to adjust both the drop-off location and the rental dates for the RV. He personally met me to hand over the RV, walked me through how to use the equipment, and made sure I felt comfortable. Throughout the process, he was attentive and responsive to my concerns, which made the experience smooth and enjoyable.

Great experience with this team. They were very patient and answered our numerous questions quickly. This was our first experience with an RV and they made it very comfortable. The only thing that was a negative to me was the fact that they charge for gas to and from the location. I felt like this should have been taken from the delivery fee not charged on top of it. I also feel it should be disclosed prior to the RV being delivered.

What if I need to cancel my Gaffney RV trip?

Booking your Gaffney RV trip is low risk because RVezy sets the cancellation policy platform wide, not individual hosts. I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving around Gaffney?

You're going to do great, Gaffney is one of the easier places in the Carolinas to learn the ropes. Every host provides an in-person walkthrough at pickup covering driving, hookups, the generator, and tanks, and you can text or call them anytime during your trip. For your first time renting an RV, consider a Class C motorhome or a smaller travel trailer, both are easy to handle. Practice in a parking lot like the Gaffney Outlets before heading to camp, and you'll feel confident in an hour.

What should I budget for fuel on a Gaffney RV trip?

Fuel is usually the biggest variable on any RV budget, and Gaffney has good news on both fronts: South Carolina has some of the lowest gas prices in the country, and most local campgrounds are close to the interstate, so you won't burn miles getting to camp. Expect 8 to 10 miles per gallon (MPG) for a Class A, 10 to 14 MPG for a Class C, 12 to 18 MPG for a travel trailer or fifth wheel setup, and up to 20 MPG for a campervan. Fill up at the Pilot or Love's near I-85 Exit 90 where prices are typically lowest. Budget around $0.30 to $0.50 per mile for fuel as a rough planning number and you'll be in good shape.

How far in advance should I book campgrounds near Gaffney?

For the best sites, book 2 to 3 months ahead during peak season (April through October), especially for South Carolina State Parks like Kings Mountain, which fill up fast on weekends. Reservations for Kings Mountain State Park and other South Carolina state parks go through the official ReserveAmerica-powered South Carolina State Parks reservation system up to 13 months in advance. Private parks like Spacious Skies Peach Haven and Turtle Creek can typically be booked directly on their websites or by phone. For the Peach Festival in mid-July, book as early as you can since Gaffney gets packed. Pro tip: midweek arrivals (Sunday or Monday) almost always have availability even in summer, and rates are often lower too.

What's driving an RV like around Gaffney?

Driving in and around Gaffney is refreshingly low-stress, you're in the foothills rather than the mountains, so roads are gently rolling with wide lanes and good shoulders. I-85 is the main artery and is RV-friendly, though watch for heavy truck traffic at rush hour near the North Carolina line. Highway 11, the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway, is a beautiful but curvier route west toward Caesars Head, take it slow in a longer rig. Summer afternoon thunderstorms can roll through quickly, so check the forecast and pull over if visibility drops. Avoid downtown Gaffney's older brick streets with anything over 30 feet, and head to the Gaffney Outlets parking area if you need a big lot to practice in.

What amenities can I expect at Gaffney-area campgrounds?

Most campgrounds near Gaffney are well-equipped for a comfortable stay. Full hookups (water, sewer, 30 or 50 amp electric) are standard at private parks like Spacious Skies Peach Haven and Turtle Creek Campground, and you'll usually find Wi-Fi, laundry, bathhouses with hot showers, and propane refills on-site. Kings Mountain State Park offers water and electric sites with a central dump station and potable water fill. Peach Haven adds a pool, mini golf, and a jumping pillow that kids love. For dumping tanks between sites, most private parks allow paid users to use their dump station, and you can also fill freshwater jugs there. Pro tip: bring a 25-foot drinking-water hose, some sites at older parks have the spigot placed awkwardly.

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is straightforward and secure: you pay through the RVezy platform with a credit or debit card when you book, never directly to the host in cash. The security deposit is separate from your booking payment and is held as a temporary authorization on your card rather than a charge, then released after the trip assuming no damage. To avoid any deposit issues, do a thorough walkaround with your host at pickup and take date stamped photos and a short video, then repeat at drop off. Return the RV with the same fuel level, empty the tanks if required, and tidy up after your trip. Stick to those basics and your deposit is released back to your card after you return to Gaffney.
