Such an awesome experience. We spent a few days at Colorado Bend State Park and the trailer was perfect. There were not any water/electrical hookups at our campsite, but we were able to fill the RV with potable water, and run the necessary items (lights, water pump, heater) on battery/generator. Such an awesome trip and this travel trailer made the experience much more enjoyable! Karina and Ivan were hospitable AND ensured that we had everything we needed for our trip. 10/10 recommend.

We had a great experience having the RV delivered for our camping trip. Easy communication, setup was great, the RV was well stocked and comfortable - the photos are accurate! We stayed comfortably with two adults and two young children on the dinette bed. Much easier than our previous experience (through a rental company) trying to pick up an RV and drive it ourselves.

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Llano, TX

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Llano, TX?

RV rental in Llano, TX is one of the most affordable ways to experience the Texas Hill Country. Travel trailers typically start around $90 to $130 per night, Class C motorhomes run $150 to $250, and larger Class A rigs can reach $300 plus. To find a cheap RV rental in Llano, search midweek dates, avoid wildflower season weekends in April, and filter by Instant Book to spot hosts offering weekly discounts. Pro tip: book a travel trailer with delivery to Robinson City Park or Badu Park and skip the towing learning curve entirely. Your dollar stretches further here than in Austin or Fredericksburg.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Llano, Texas?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Llano for almost every rig on RVezy. Texas only requires a non-commercial Class B license if the RV exceeds 26,000 pounds, which covers some of the largest Class A motorhomes; the Class C motorhomes, campervans, and travel trailers most renters choose fall well under that limit. RVezy approved drivers are generally 25 or older with a valid license, and ID is verified during booking. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring your home license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) and you're set to roll down Highway 16.

Is my Llano RV rental covered if something goes wrong?

You can book with confidence: every RVezy booking includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance. The protection plan helps cover physical damage to the RV during your trip, and you choose your coverage level during checkout, not the host. Whether you blow a tire on RR 965 heading to Enchanted Rock or get a windshield chip on Highway 71, help is one phone call away. The protection plan provides real financial peace of mind so you can focus on float trips on the Llano River and Cooper's BBQ instead of worst-case scenarios.

What if I need to cancel my Llano RV trip?

Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets a clear cancellation policy that applies to every reservation, including a money-back grace period right after you book. Cancellation outcomes depend on how far out you are from your trip start date and circumstances like natural disasters, which matters in Hill Country where flash flooding can occasionally close low-water crossings on the Llano River. Hosts don't set their own cancellation terms, so you get the same protection whether you book a campervan or a fifth wheel. Review the current cancellation policy on the RVezy Help Center before booking so you know exactly what to expect.

Can I bring my dog on a Llano RV trip?

Absolutely, Llano is one of the most dog-friendly corners of Texas, and pet-friendly RV rental in Llano is easy to find on RVezy using the Pet-Friendly filter. Most hosts welcome dogs for a small cleaning fee. Once you're here, your pup can splash in the Llano River at Badu Park, walk the shaded paths at Robinson City Park, and even hike the Loop Trail at Enchanted Rock State Natural Area (pets are allowed on the Loop Trail, campgrounds, and picnic areas, but not the Summit Trail). Pro tip: bring booties for hot granite in summer, the pink rock heats up fast.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite near Llano?

Yes, RV delivery in Llano is a game-changer, especially for first-time renters. Many RVezy hosts will drive the rig to your campsite, level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before they leave. Popular delivery spots include Robinson City Park on the Llano River, Badu Park near downtown, and Inks Lake State Park about 30 minutes east. Delivery fees usually run $2 to $4 per mile round trip. Filter listings by Delivery, message a host to confirm your destination, and you can show up with just a cooler and groceries from H-E-B.

How far can I drive on a Llano RV trip, and is unlimited mileage available?

You've got plenty of range from Llano. Hosts set their own mileage policies, and many offer 100 to 150 free miles per night, with several offering RV rental with unlimited mileage for longer trips. That's plenty for a Llano RV trip looping through Enchanted Rock (24 miles south), Fredericksburg (37 miles south), Inks Lake State Park (28 miles east), Marble Falls (30 miles east), and Austin (78 miles east). Filter for unlimited mileage if you're planning a wider Hill Country circuit, and confirm extra-mile rates (usually $0.30 to $0.45) with your host before booking.

Where are the best campgrounds near Llano, TX?

The best campgrounds near Llano give you riverfront sites, dark skies, and full hookups within minutes of downtown. Try Robinson City Park, a 21-acre Llano River park with full hookups, 50-amp service, and an annual Crawfish Open in April; Badu Park on Lake Llano right by historic downtown; Llano River RV Park for shaded riverfront sites; and Dos Rios RV Park about 35 miles west where the James and Llano rivers meet, ideal for kayaking. For a state park feel, Inks Lake State Park (28 miles east) has full-hookup sites with swimming and is bookable through Texas Parks and Wildlife.

When is the best time to visit Llano in an RV?

Spring (mid-March through May) and fall (October through early December) are the sweet spots for RV camping in Llano. Daytime highs run a pleasant 70 to 85 degrees, the bluebonnets and Indian paintbrush explode along Highway 16 in April, and the Llano River is perfect for tubing. Summer is hot, with August averaging 95 degrees and heat indices over 100, so plan early-morning Enchanted Rock hikes and afternoon swims. Winters are mild (50s and 60s by day), making Llano a legitimate snowbird destination. Avoid late spring weekends if you don't like crowds; the wildflower drives bring in serious traffic.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving around Llano?

You'll do great, and Llano is genuinely one of the friendliest places in Texas for a first time renting an RV. Roads are wide, traffic is light outside of wildflower weekends, and your host will walk you through every system at pickup, from leveling jacks to the propane stove. Stick to a Class C motorhome or travel trailer for easier handling, and choose delivery if backing into a campsite makes you nervous. Pro tip: practice in the H-E-B parking lot on Bessemer Avenue before heading out, then take the scenic route on Highway 16 toward Fredericksburg, it's flat, straight, and gorgeous.
txdot.gov/safety/driving-laws.html

What happens if my RV breaks down during my Llano trip?

You're never stranded: 24/7 roadside assistance is included with every RVezy booking, and help is just a phone call away whether you're parked at Inks Lake or rolling down Ranch Road 2323. Roadside covers flats, jump-starts, lockouts, and towing. Your host is also typically a quick text away for questions about the rig's quirks. Llano sits at the crossroads of Highways 16, 29, and 71, so service centers in Marble Falls (30 miles) and Burnet (24 miles) are reachable fast. Save the RVezy support number in your phone before you leave the driveway and breathe easy.

What are the best road trip routes from Llano?

An RV road trip from Llano puts the entire Texas Hill Country at your doorstep. Top routes include: Llano to Fredericksburg (37 miles south) for wineries and German bakeries; Llano to Enchanted Rock State Natural Area (24 miles south) for granite dome hikes and dark-sky camping; Llano to Inks Lake and Longhorn Cavern (28 to 32 miles east) for swimming and cave tours; Llano to Austin (78 miles east) for live music; and Llano to Big Bend National Park (about 430 miles west) for a bucket-list week. Cross-border travel into Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals, so plan your loop inside Texas.
txdot.gov/

What kind of fuel mileage should I budget for around Llano?

Budget realistically and you'll be pleasantly surprised. Class C motorhomes average 8 to 12 miles per gallon (MPG), Class B campervans hit 15 to 20 MPG, and a truck towing a travel trailer typically gets 10 to 14 MPG. Gas in Llano County usually runs a few cents below the Texas state average, with stations along Bessemer Avenue and Ford Street being the easiest to pull through. For a 200-mile weekend loop in a Class C at $3.00 per gallon, plan about $60 to $75 in fuel. Pro tip: fill up in Llano before heading to Enchanted Rock, the nearest station to the park is 18 miles away.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book a campground near Llano?

Book early and you'll have your pick of the riverfront. Enchanted Rock State Natural Area campsites open for reservations up to five months in advance through the Texas State Parks reservation system, and weekends fill within minutes during spring wildflower season and fall. Inks Lake State Park is equally competitive. For private parks like Robinson City Park, Badu Park, and Llano River RV Park, aim for 4 to 8 weeks out for spring and fall weekends, and 1 to 2 weeks for summer or winter. Pro tip: weekday nights are often wide open even in peak season.

What are driving conditions like in and around Llano?

Driving in Llano is refreshingly stress-free compared to big-city Texas. The main roads (Highways 16, 29, and 71) are two-lane and well-maintained, with rolling Hill Country curves rather than steep grades. Watch for two local quirks: low-water crossings that can flood after heavy spring rain (never drive through moving water, turn around), and white-tailed deer at dawn and dusk, especially since Llano is called the Deer Capital of Texas. Bridges over the Llano River have generous clearance for tall rigs. Cell service is solid in town but spotty in canyons near Enchanted Rock, so download offline maps before you head out.

What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Llano?

Local campgrounds are well-equipped for a comfortable stay. Robinson City Park and Llano River RV Park offer full hookups (water, 30/50-amp electric, sewer), Wi-Fi at the clubhouse, hot showers, and dump stations. Badu Park has water and electric sites along Lake Llano with a swimming area and splash pad. Enchanted Rock is tent-only with no RV hookups, so use it as a day trip from your RV base. To dump tanks if your park doesn't have on-site sewer, head to Inks Lake State Park (28 miles east) or most full-service RV parks for a small fee. Potable water is easy to find at every private park in town.

What features and amenities come with a Llano RV rental?

RVs on RVezy come ready for a real Hill Country trip. Expect a queen or king bed, a fully equipped kitchen with stove, fridge, and microwave, a bathroom with shower and toilet, air conditioning (essential for August in Llano), heating for cool winter nights, and dinette seating with seatbelts for travel. Many rigs include outdoor speakers, awnings, propane grills, and TVs; campervans often add solar setups. Wi-Fi and generators vary by listing, so filter by the features you need. Check each listing's amenity list and message the host to confirm specifics like child car seat anchors before you book.
nhtsa.gov/road-safety/recreational-vehicle-safety

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about?

Hosts offer popular add-ons that make your Llano trip easier: kitchen kits, bedding packages, camping chairs, outdoor mats, kayaks (perfect for the Llano River), generators, tank dumping service, and pre-stocked propane. Add-on fees vary, with kitchen kits typically $50 to $75 and bedding $25 to $50 per trip. Pickup and dropoff happen at the host's location in or near Llano, or you can choose delivery to your campground. Mileage policies are set per listing, so check whether you're getting 100 miles a night or unlimited, and confirm the per-mile overage rate before booking so there are no surprises at return.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Llano%2C%20Texas

How does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is simple and secure: you pay through the RVezy platform with a credit card, not directly to the host, which protects both sides. The security deposit is a hold (not a charge) placed before your trip, typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV's value, and it's released after your trip if no damage or excess mileage occurred. To avoid issues, document the RV's condition with photos at pickup and dropoff, return it with the agreed fuel and tank levels, and stay within your mileage allowance. Pro tip: do a slow walk-around video with the host so everyone is on the same page.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-works

What's a local insider tip for first-time Llano visitors?

Here's a local move that separates tourists from regulars: hit Cooper's Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que on Highway 29 right when they open at 10:30 a.m., grab brisket and pork chops straight off the pit, then drive 15 minutes to Castell General Store for a cold drink on the Llano River. After lunch, float a stretch of the river or hunt for llanite (a rare blue-quartz granite found only in this county) along the roadside between Llano and Enchanted Rock. Cap the day stargazing at Enchanted Rock, an International Dark Sky Park where the Milky Way is unreal on moonless nights. That's a perfect family RV trip Llano day.
