Our first time camping in a Travel Trailer/RV and what an awesome experience! The trailer was amazing and comfortable for hubby & I; equipped with essentials —more than expected. Ricardo delivered, set up and picked up as requested, even making an extra trip to deliver 2 items we requested. Our host Ricardo made this a perfect 1st experience by his friendly communications and patience with all my questions & changes. I hope to do business with him again next year! As you can see in our pictures, I was able to cook a full breakfast. The oven/stove, refrig/freeze were just the perfect size as well as the restroom; most of all cold blowing a/c😊. The awning provided great shade for hubby as he BBQ a few feet away from trailer. May God continue to bless you Ricardo🙏🏾

Frequently asked questions about renting an RV in Lorena, TX

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Lorena, TX?

Great news: an RV rental in Lorena, TX is one of the most affordable ways to explore Central Texas. On RVezy, you'll typically find travel trailers starting around $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes between $175 and $275 per night, and larger Class A rigs from $250 to $400 per night. Hosts in the Waco area often discount weekly stays, and weekday bookings outside of Spring Break and the Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Spectacular at the Heart of Texas Fair Complex tend to be cheapest. For a cheap RV rental in Lorena, filter by travel trailers and look for instant-book listings. Pro tip: book a Sunday to Thursday stay at Airport Park on Lake Waco for the best combo of low rates and great fishing.
recreation.gov/camping/gateways/510

Do I need a special driver's license to rent an RV in Lorena, TX?

Good news: for the vast majority of RV rentals in Lorena, your regular Class C driver's license is all you need. Texas only requires a non-commercial Class A or B license if the RV's Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) exceeds 26,000 pounds, which applies only to the largest Class A motorhomes. Nearly every travel trailer, campervan, and Class C motorhome on RVezy falls well under that limit. You will also need to be 25 or older with a valid driver's license, and RVezy verifies your ID during booking. Visiting from outside the US? Bring your home license plus an International Driving Permit and you are set to hit the road toward Lake Waco.

What protection and roadside support comes with my RV rental in Lorena, TX?

You are covered from the moment you book. Every RV rental in Lorena, TX on RVezy includes a renter protection plan plus 24/7 roadside assistance, so a flat tire on Highway 77 or a dead battery at Midway Park is just a phone call away. You choose your coverage level during checkout (not the host), and the plan helps cover physical damage to the RV during your trip. It is not traditional auto insurance, but it gives you real financial peace of mind. Pro tip: take a quick walk-around video at pickup and again at drop-off. Documentation makes any post-trip questions easy to resolve and lets you focus on enjoying your Waco-area RV trip.

What happens if I need to cancel my Lorena RV booking?

Booking is low-risk. RVezy (not the host) sets the cancellation policy, and every booking includes a money-back grace period right after you book so you can lock in your dates with confidence. After that window, refund amounts depend on how close you are to your trip start date. If a host cancels on you, RVezy refunds you or provides travel credits so your plans stay on track. Pro tip: message the host before you book with any specific questions, then click reserve knowing flexibility is built in.

Can I bring my dog on a Lorena RV trip?

Absolutely. Plenty of pet-friendly RV rentals in Lorena are ready for your four-legged co-pilot. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see listings that welcome dogs, and message the host about size or breed details. Lake Waco's Corps of Engineers campgrounds (Airport Park, Midway, Reynolds Creek, and Speegleville) all allow leashed pets, and Waco's Cameron Park has miles of dog-friendly trails along the Brazos River. The 6-foot leash rule applies at all federal campgrounds in the area. Pro tip: pack a collapsible water bowl. Texas summers in Lorena routinely hit 95 to 100 degrees, and shade-free RV pads heat up fast.

Can the RV be delivered to my campground or driveway in Lorena?

Yes, RV delivery in Lorena is one of the most popular options on RVezy, especially for first-time renters. Many local hosts will tow or drive the RV directly to Airport Park, Midway Park, Camp Fimfo Waco, or your private property, level it, hook up water, electric, and sewer, and walk you through every system. This is a game-changer if you are nervous about driving a big rig on I-35 through Waco. Filter by Delivery on RVezy to see hosts who offer it, then message them with your destination for an exact quote. Pro tip: a delivered setup at a Lake Waco lakeside site means you can launch a kayak straight from your front door.

Flat Creek Farms RV Resort in Lorena itself is a quieter farm-style option. Pro tip: Lake Waco campgrounds book through Recreation.gov and fill up months ahead for spring and summer weekends, so reserve as early as possible.

When is the best time to visit Lorena, TX in an RV?

The sweet spot for an RV trip in Lorena is mid-March through May and again from late September through early November, when daytime highs sit in the comfortable 70s and 80s and nights cool to the 50s and 60s. Spring brings Texas wildflowers (bluebonnets peak in April) and lush lake levels, while fall delivers crisp mornings and prime fishing on Lake Waco. Summers from June through August are genuinely hot, regularly topping 95 to 100 degrees, so you'll want a rig with strong AC. Winter is mild with highs in the upper 50s. Pro tip: October weekends at Reynolds Creek are quiet, gorgeous, and bug-free, which is hard to beat.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I know what I'm doing?

Yes, and you're going to love it. Every RVezy host in the Lorena area provides a full walkthrough at pickup, covering how to drive the rig, operate the slide-outs, run the generator, dump the tanks, and connect to shore power. First time renting an RV? Choose a smaller Class C motorhome or travel trailer, or book delivery so the RV is set up for you. You can message the host any time before your trip with questions, and RVezy's 24/7 customer support is there throughout your stay. Pro tip: take a 15-minute test drive around the host's neighborhood before heading out toward I-35. It builds confidence fast.

What happens if something breaks down during my Lorena RV trip?

Help is one call away. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance, so whether you have a flat tire on Highway 84, a battery issue at Midway Park, or a propane question at Camp Fimfo Waco, you can reach a real human any time of day or night. Your host is also typically your first text for rig-specific questions, since they know their RV best. RVezy support backs you up if anything escalates. Pro tip: save the roadside number in your phone before pickup and snap a photo of the RV VIN plate. That information gets help dispatched to your exact Central Texas location faster.

Can I take my Lorena RV rental across state lines or into Mexico?

Interstate road trips from Lorena are absolutely on the table. You can drive your RV rental into Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, or New Mexico, and popular RV road trips from Lorena include heading to Hot Springs National Park (about 6.5 hours), Carlsbad Caverns (9 hours), or the Gulf Coast beaches at Galveston (3.5 hours). Travel into Mexico is not allowed on RVezy rentals because insurance and protection do not extend across that border. Just give your host a heads-up about your planned route when you book so they know your itinerary. Pro tip: I-35 south from Lorena connects you to Austin and San Antonio in under three hours.
cbp.gov/travel/us-citizens/know-before-you-go/your-trip

What kind of fuel mileage and budget should I plan for?

Plan smart and you'll cruise comfortably. Most Class C motorhomes around Lorena get 8 to 12 miles per gallon, Class A rigs get 6 to 10 mpg, and a campervan rental in Lorena can hit 15 to 20 mpg. Travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle. Gas prices in McLennan County typically run a few cents below the national average, with stations along I-35 in Waco and Robinson being convenient fill-up points. For a weekend RV trip to Lake Waco, budget about $60 to $120 in fuel. Pro tip: top off at the Buc-ee's in Temple (30 miles south) before any longer haul. Cheap gas, clean restrooms, and brisket sandwiches make it a Texas tradition.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/

How far in advance should I book a campground near Lorena?

Sooner is better, especially for Lake Waco. Corps of Engineers campgrounds (Airport Park, Midway, Reynolds Creek, Speegleville) reserve through Recreation.gov on a 6-month rolling window, and spring break, Memorial Day, July 4th, and Baylor home football weekends fill up the moment they open. State parks like Mother Neff (about 30 minutes south) and Lake Whitney (about 45 minutes northwest) book through the Texas Parks and Wildlife reservation system, also up to 5 months ahead. Pro tip: if Lake Waco is sold out, try midweek arrivals or check Speegleville Park, which often has last-minute openings thanks to its larger site count. Private RV parks in Lorena are usually easier to grab on short notice.
tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/reservations

What are the local driving conditions like around Lorena?

Driving an RV around Lorena is genuinely manageable. I-35 runs right past town and offers wide lanes, but expect construction zones between Waco and Temple, plus heavy traffic during Baylor football weekends and Magnolia Market visits. Highway 77 through Lorena itself is calm two-lane country driving with great visibility. The terrain is gently rolling, no mountain passes to worry about, but watch for sudden spring thunderstorms (March to May) and the occasional tornado watch. Summer heat can stress tires, so check pressure before long drives. Pro tip: avoid I-35 northbound through Waco between 4 and 6 PM on weekdays. Take Loop 340 around the city instead and save yourself 20 minutes.
txdot.gov/inside-txdot/district/waco.html

What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Lorena?

Local campgrounds are well-equipped for a comfortable stay. Lake Waco's Corps of Engineers parks offer water and 30/50-amp electric hookups, with full sewer at select sites in Midway and Airport Park. You'll find hot showers, flush restrooms, dump stations, boat ramps, picnic tables, and fire rings. Private parks like Flat Creek Farms RV Resort and Camp Fimfo Waco add pools, laundry, Wi-Fi, and propane refills. The nearest fresh-water fill and dump station combos are at Speegleville Park and Camp Fimfo. Quiet hours run 10 PM to 6 AM at all Corps sites, and gates close at 10 PM. Pro tip: pack a 25-foot drinking-water hose and a 90-degree elbow. Some Lake Waco sites have spigots positioned awkwardly for shorter rigs.
recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/232641

What's actually inside the RVs available in Lorena?

You'll be impressed by how livable these rigs are. A typical motorhome rental in Lorena comes with a queen or king bed, convertible dinette and sofa sleepers, a full kitchen (fridge, stove, microwave, sink), a bathroom with toilet and shower, roof-mounted air conditioning (a must in Texas summers), furnace heat, a TV, and often onboard generator and solar. Many Class C and Class A motorhomes seat 6 to 8 with seatbelts for safe travel. Wi-Fi hotspots and outdoor speakers are common add-ons. Listings show photos and specs of everything included. Pro tip: filter by sleeps count on RVezy to match your group exactly. A family RV trip in Lorena is way more enjoyable when nobody's stuck on the dinette bed.
nhtsa.gov/road-safety/recreational-vehicle-safety

What add-ons and pickup options should I know about?

Hosts make trips easy with thoughtful extras. Popular add-ons for an RV rental in Lorena, TX include camp chairs and outdoor mats ($10 to $25), kitchen kits with dishes and cookware ($30 to $60), generators or extra propane ($20 to $40), bike racks, kayaks, and Starlink Wi-Fi. Delivery and setup typically runs $2 to $4 per mile from the host's location. Pickup is usually at the host's home in or near Lorena, Waco, Robinson, or Hewitt, with a 30 to 60 minute walkthrough included. Mileage policies vary by listing, but most include 100 to 150 free miles per night. Pro tip: bundle delivery plus a stocked kitchen kit for a true turn-key first-timer experience.

How do payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is straightforward and secure. When you book an RV rental in Lorena, you pay through RVezy's protected platform, no cash to the host. A security deposit is held separately from your booking payment and is pre-authorized on your card before pickup, then released after the trip if there is no damage or policy violation. The booking total covers the nightly rate, RVezy fees, taxes, and your chosen protection plan. To avoid deposit issues, follow the host's mileage and generator hours policies, return the RV with the same fuel and propane levels, and dump the tanks if required. Pro tip: do the pickup walkthrough with the host on video. It protects everyone and keeps your deposit refund fast and drama-free.
