Anthony’s 12’ GeoPro trailer was a great rental experience. It was easy to connect and disconnect, which made pickup and drop-off simple and stress-free. The trailer had everything we needed, including a table, chairs, bedding, cookware, cutlery, and place settings. The kitchen was a huge bonus and made the trip much more comfortable. Overall, it was well-equipped, easy to use, and exactly what we needed. Highly recommend.

I took my 16 year old son and 2 adult friends to there first NFL game and to watch our Oilers in Seattle in late November. Dave's RV was the perfect accommodation for the 3 days! What was awesome was the communication with Dave prior to the rental. He answered all questions and concerns in a timely fashion. In this day and age where customer service seems to be almost no existent Dave went above and beyond. Dave went through the pre trip check with me and my son and that interaction showed he cared about us having a positive experience. With any type of rental things could go wrong, nothing did for us, but I felt reassured Dave would be there if anything did, peace of mind! RV was just what we needed for this trip. Thanks again Dave!!

Mark was a wonderful host. This was our first time traveling by RV and he was extremely patient and accommodating with all of our questions. The RV was clean when we picked it up, stocked with household items, such as; dishes, utensils, hand soap and toilet paper. The RV is spacious and comfortable and was the perfect "house on wheels" to travel in. We needed something that would get us up north fast because of an extremely ill family member, and this made our road time so much shorter than having to stop and get a hotel. We would highly recommend Mark as a host and would rent his RV again!

Where are the best campgrounds near Gig Harbor, WA?

Top picks include Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor on Burnham Drive NW (full hookups, year-round, walking distance to Cushman Trail), Kopachuck State Park (forested sites minutes from a saltwater beach), Penrose Point State Park across Carr Inlet in Lakebay (waterfront, hiking, clam digging), Joemma Beach State Park on the Key Peninsula (quiet, beachfront), and Manchester State Park near Port Orchard (historic, water views). Each offers a different vibe, from full-hookup resort comfort to peaceful state-park camping. Pro tip: book waterfront state-park sites the moment they open at nine months out on the Washington State Parks reservation system, they vanish fast for summer weekends.

When is the best time of year for a Gig Harbor RV trip?

The sweet spot for RV camping in Gig Harbor is mid-June through mid-September, when daytime highs run 70 to 78°F, rainfall drops to just an inch or two per month, and Puget Sound sparkles for kayaking and waterfront dinners. July is the warmest and driest month, with about 10 hours of sunshine a day. May and September are excellent shoulder-season picks: temperatures in the 60s, far fewer crowds, and lower nightly rates. Winters are mild (highs in the mid-40s) and wet, but the area rarely sees snow, so off-season trips are very doable for prepared travelers. Pro tip: target early September for warm days, empty trails, and salmon-fishing season in full swing.

How much will I spend on fuel for a Gig Harbor RV trip?

Fuel is one of the biggest variables, but it's easy to budget. Washington gas prices typically run a bit above the national average, often $4.20 to $4.80 per gallon around Pierce County. For a 300-mile Olympic Peninsula loop in a Class C, expect roughly $120 to $160 in fuel. Pro tip: fuel up in Purdy or Port Orchard before heading west, prices on the Key Peninsula and out toward Hood Canal tend to be 20 to 40 cents higher.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Gig Harbor?

Book early and you will have your pick of the best campgrounds near Gig Harbor. Washington State Parks (Kopachuck, Penrose Point, Joemma Beach, Manchester) open reservations nine months in advance through the Washington State Parks reservation system, and prime summer weekends at waterfront sites often sell out within hours. Private parks like Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor can also fill 3 to 6 months out for July and August. For shoulder-season trips in May or September, 4 to 8 weeks ahead is usually plenty. Pro tip: if a Saturday is booked, grab Sunday-through-Thursday nights instead, you will get the same scenery, lower rates, and a much quieter campground.

What are driving conditions like around Gig Harbor?

Driving an RV in and around Gig Harbor is refreshingly easy. Highway 16 is a wide four-lane route connecting Tacoma to Bremerton, the Tacoma Narrows Bridge has generous lanes (and a toll, currently around $7 for vehicles with more than two axles, paid by Good To Go pass or mailed bill), and most state-park roads are paved and RV-friendly. Watch for narrow, winding sections out on the Key Peninsula toward Penrose Point, and expect fall and winter rain that can make leaves slick. Snow is rare. Pro tip: avoid the southbound Narrows Bridge during weekday afternoon rush (3 to 6 pm) when Bremerton commuters head home, mornings and weekends flow much better.

Washington State Parks like Kopachuck, Penrose Point, and Manchester typically offer water and electric hookups at utility sites, dump stations on-site, flush toilets, and hot showers, though some sites are standard (no hookups). Need to dump or fill water on the road? Sun Outdoors and Manchester State Park both offer public dump stations, and the Gig Harbor area has propane refill at local hardware and gas stations. Pro tip: pack a 25-foot freshwater hose and a 30-amp-to-15-amp adapter, they cover almost every situation in this region.
parks.wa.gov/find-parks/parks/manchester-state-park

What's inside a typical RV rental in Gig Harbor?

You'll be impressed at how much fits inside a campervan rental Gig Harbor or motorhome. Most RVezy listings in the area come fully equipped with a queen or king bed, kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, sink and cookware, a wet or dry bathroom with shower and toilet, dining seating that often converts to extra sleeping space, a furnace and air conditioning, and seatbelted seats for safe travel. Many include a flat-screen TV, Bluetooth stereo, solar panels, generator, and outdoor awning. Wi-Fi varies, so check the listing or plan to hotspot. Pro tip: filter by sleeps count and RV type on RVezy, a Class C is great for a family RV trip Gig Harbor adventure, while a Class B campervan suits couples chasing ferry rides.

How do payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?

Payment is straightforward and fully handled through the RVezy platform, so you never hand cash to a host. You will pay your booking total (rental, fees, taxes, and your chosen protection plan) by credit card through the secure RVezy checkout. A refundable security deposit is held on your card before the trip, typically $500 to $1,500 depending on the RV and host, and it is released after a smooth return. Avoid issues by taking timestamped photos of the inside and outside of the RV at pickup and drop-off, refilling fuel and propane as agreed, and dumping tanks if your host requires it. Pro tip: review the listing mileage, generator, and cleaning policies before pickup so there are no surprises on return.

What are the best road trip destinations from Gig Harbor?

Gig Harbor is a launch pad for some of the Pacific Northwest's best drives. Top picks: Mount Rainier National Park (about 75 miles, 1.5 hours) for glacier views and Paradise meadows; Olympic National Park's Hurricane Ridge (about 90 miles plus a ferry option) for alpine vistas and rainforest hikes; the Hood Canal loop via Highway 101 (about 120 miles) for oyster shacks and quiet waterfront camping; Leavenworth (about 180 miles) for Bavarian charm and Cascade scenery; and the Long Beach Peninsula on the Washington coast (about 170 miles) for endless sand and kite-flying.
