Campgrounds and RV parks near Penticton 1, BC

Penticton sits on a narrow strip of land between Okanagan Lake and Skaha Lake in British Columbia's South Okanagan Valley. The city is a major RV destination because both lakes are lined with private RV parks, and Highway 97 runs directly through town, making arrival straightforward for travellers coming from the Lower Mainland, Alberta, or the Washington border. Most RV inventory is concentrated at the south end of town along Skaha Lake and its channel. Wright's Beach Camp and South Beach Gardens Tent and RV Park both sit at the south entrance to Penticton on Skaha Lake, while Oxbow RV Resort is set across the road from Skaha Lake Park. Banbury Green RV and Camping Resort and Camp-Along Resort round out the closest options, offering full-service sites within reach of the city's beaches, wineries, and the Kettle Valley Rail Trail. Because Penticton is a summer destination in a semi-arid climate, private parks handle the vast majority of RV bookings, with the nearest provincial-park campgrounds located a short drive away in Okanagan Falls and other South Okanagan communities.

Private RV parks in Penticton, including Wright's Beach Camp, South Beach Gardens Tent and RV Park, Oxbow RV Resort, Banbury Green RV and Camping Resort, and Camp-Along Resort, each take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Multi-night minimums are common in July and August, and some waterfront parks require longer minimum stays during peak periods and statutory holiday weekends. Provincial-park campgrounds in the South Okanagan are reserved through the BC Parks reservation system at bcparks.ca. BC Parks uses a three-month rolling booking window, meaning arrival dates open for booking exactly three months in advance at 7 a.m. Pacific time. A non-refundable reservation fee applies per booking, and cancellations made more than seven days before arrival receive a refund of camping fees minus the reservation fee.
