The waterfront is the anchor. The Haileybury beach is roughly 100 metres square, supervised by lifeguards in summer, and features a 150-foot waterslide, a water fountain, and a water umbrella. Paddleboarding, kayaking, and shore fishing on Lake Temiskaming are common pastimes, and the lake is deep and clear enough for open-water swimming on calm days. Hikers head to Devil's Rock. The trail is roughly 2 km one way from a small parking area on Highway 567, or about 3 km from Bucke Park, ending at a panoramic 180-degree vista from a cliff that rises about 300 feet above Lake Temiskaming.
