Baie des Chaleurs is the centrepiece. Warm-water swimming, kayaking and beachcombing are possible directly from many coastal campgrounds, and the bay is known for relatively mild sea temperatures by Quebec standards, peaking in August. Inside the Réserve faunique de Port-Daniel, visitors find 25 trout-stocked lakes, a salmon river, hiking trails and wildlife viewing across a 57-square-kilometre territory. Day-use fishing, canoeing and cabin stays are bookable through Sépaq. Further afield, Bonaventure offers the Bioparc and the Acadian Museum, while Percé Rock and Île Bonaventure lie about an hour and a half east. Cyclists use the shoulder of Route 132 and short coastal detours. Families often combine a beach day with an afternoon at a lighthouse, a wharf seafood stop or a visit to the Bonaventure valley.

Winds off the bay can be strong, so awnings should be retracted overnight. Wildlife in the back country includes moose, black bear and white-tailed deer; standard food storage rules apply.
