Campgrounds and RV parks near Normétal, QC

Normétal sits in the Abitibi-Ouest region of northwestern Quebec, close to the Ontario border and surrounded by the boreal forest, lakes, and rivers of the Abitibi-Témiscamingue clay belt. RV travellers using the town as a base have two distinct provincial park camping options within reasonable driving range, one in Quebec and one across the border in Ontario. The closest Quebec option is Parc national d'Aiguebelle, managed by Sépaq, which protects a slice of the Canadian Shield in the Abijévis hills southeast of Normétal. Lac Matissard - Aiguebelle Provincial Park sits within this protected area, offering boreal-forest sites near the park's lakes and fault network. Across the Ontario border, Esker Lakes Provincial Park provides a quieter northern-Ontario drive-in and backcountry experience built around glacial esker landforms and a chain of small lakes.
