The community lies a couple of miles south of the Utah border and about a mile west of Arizona Highway 389, which runs from Colorado City to Fredonia. For RV travelers, the location works as a quiet high-desert base within reasonable range of several major destinations. Vermilion Cliffs National Monument sits about 25 miles east, offering hiking, photography, and access to sites like The Wave and Paria Canyon, while Zion National Park is roughly 40 miles northeast. The area is reached via Arizona State Route 389 from Fredonia to the east, or via Interstate 15 through St. George, Utah, to the northeast, and it works as a base for the Vermilion Cliffs, Zion, and the Grand Canyon North Rim about two hours south. Nearby RV options range from small local parks like Water Canyon RV Park and Range RV Campground to larger Zion-adjacent properties including Zion Canyon Campground and RV Resort, and the National Park Service sites at Watchman Campground and South Campground inside Zion.

Zion's two frontcountry campgrounds by the south entrance book through the federal system on recreation.gov, or by calling 1-877-444-6777. Watchman Campground is open year-round, and standard sites can be reserved up to 6 months in advance. South Campground is open from approximately early March through late fall, and reservations open only 14 days before arrival, so sites fill within minutes of release. Watchman fills fast. The primary occupant listed on the reservation must present a photo ID at check-in, and the name of the primary occupant cannot be changed once a reservation is made, a rule in place due to the competitive nature of the location and to prevent re-selling. Private parks such as Water Canyon RV Park, Range RV Campground, and Zion Canyon Campground and RV Resort book directly through the operator, typically online or by phone, and generally accept reservations further out than the NPS sites.
