Campgrounds near Camden, Arkansas
Camden sits in the piney woods of south Arkansas along the Ouachita River, giving RV travelers a compact base for state park camping across Ouachita, Bradley, Nevada, and Columbia counties. The closest developed option is White Oak Lake State Park, a quiet park on Lower White Oak Lake with 45 campsites (four Class A, 37 Class B, and four tent sites), two bathhouses, a marina with boat rentals, and a visitor center. Gator Den RV Park offers a private-park alternative closer to town.
A drive southeast leads to Moro Bay State Park, where Raymond Lake and Moro Bay meet the Ouachita River. Its campground has 23 Class AAA sites with water, 50-amp electric, and sewer hookups on 60-foot pads, plus a year-round bathhouse and a marina. Southwest of Camden, Logoly State Park offers a smaller, education-focused setting.
For a bigger-water trip, DeGray Lake Resort State Park has 113 campsites ranging from walk-in tent sites to full-hookup Class AAA sites, plus a lodge, marina, and 18-hole golf course, roughly an hour and a half northwest via Arkadelphia.
Things to do near Camden
Fishing drives much of the activity. White Oak Lake is stocked with Florida strain largemouth bass by Arkansas Game and Fish, and Moro Bay draws anglers to the confluence of Raymond Lake, Moro Bay, and the Ouachita River, with bream, bass, crappie, and catfish common catches.
On land, White Oak Lake has hiking trails and a mountain bike trail that lead through marshlands and up tree-lined ridges, with bicycles available to rent at the visitor center. Interpretive programs run in summer, and the Poison Spring Battleground display sits in the same visitor center. Logoly features short walking trails and a visitor center with environmental exhibits, useful for families with younger kids.
Day trips reach the Ouachita foothills at DeGray Lake for swimming beaches, paddling, and golf.

South Arkansas has a long camping season. Peak season at the state parks runs March through November, with visitor centers open daily during that stretch. Shoulder months in March, April, October, and November tend to be the most comfortable for RV travel. Spring brings frequent rainfall and afternoon storms, and dogwoods and wildflowers bloom through April into May.
Summer is hot and humid, with daytime highs regularly in the low nineties and afternoon thunderstorms common. Water-based sites at Moro Bay, White Oak Lake, and DeGray fill quickly on weekends and holidays, so booking early matters. Interpretive programs at White Oak Lake and Moro Bay run in the summer months.
Fall cools after mid-September and tends to bring the driest, most stable weather of the year, with hardwood color in October. Winter stays mild but wet, and light snow is rare. Moro Bay is open year-round with its bathhouse open all year, and DeGray Lake Resort State Park stays open through the off-season as well, making winter RV trips practical.
How to book a campsite near Camden
Most public campgrounds in the area are run by Arkansas State Parks and use a single reservation system. Sites at Moro Bay, White Oak Lake, Logoly, and DeGray Lake Resort can be booked at reserve.arkansasstateparks.com or by calling 888-287-2757. Reservations may be made up to twelve months in advance of the arrival date.
A non-refundable reservation deposit equal to the first night's non-discounted rate plus tax is required, and cancellations forfeit that deposit. Stays are limited to fourteen rental nights within any thirty-day period, with extensions granted only through the park superintendent. Reservations are held until 10:00 a.m. the morning after the arrival date. Private parks such as Gator Den RV Park take reservations directly through the operator.
What to expect at Camden-area campgrounds
State park sites in this region are typically level and RV-friendly. At Moro Bay all 23 Class AAA sites offer full hookups on spacious 60-foot pads designed for larger RVs and trailers, with a year-round bathhouse providing hot showers and modern restrooms. Loops at White Oak Lake wind through tall pines with most sites within view of the 2,800-acre lake, though the open layout leaves little privacy between neighbors. Each site there includes a fire ring, picnic table, lantern hook, and water hookup, with 30-amp or 50-amp electrical service.
Expect standard state park amenities: potable water, flush toilets, hot showers, and trash collection. Cell coverage is generally usable but not guaranteed in wooded loops. Logoly is limited for RVs and better suited to tent camping, so larger rigs should target Moro Bay, White Oak Lake, or DeGray.

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Camden, AR?

On RVezy, motorhomes near Camden average around $200 per night, while travel trailers and fifth wheels typically run about $120 per night, and many hosts offer weekly or monthly discounts. For a cheap RV rental in Camden, look at midweek pickups, smaller travel trailers, and shoulder months like March, April, and October. rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Camden%2C%20ArkansasWhat kind of driver's license do I need to rent an RV in Camden?
Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Camden. Arkansas does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) or any special RV endorsement for the Class A, Class C, campervan, travel trailer, or fifth wheel rigs you'll find on RVezy. Approved drivers are generally 25 or older with a valid license, and you'll confirm your ID right inside the RVezy platform during checkout, so there's no paperwork to chase down at pickup. Visiting from outside the U.S.? Bring an International Driving Permit (IDP) along with your home license and you're cleared to roll into Camden.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsIs my RV rental in Camden protected if something goes wrong?
Yes, every RVezy booking in Camden comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance built in, so you're covered from the moment you pull out of the host's driveway. The protection plan covers most damage to the vehicle and gives you real financial peace of mind on the road. During checkout you choose between protection tiers (the guest picks the level, not the host), so you can match coverage to your trip. Pro tip: if you're a first-time renter heading to White Oak Lake, a higher tier is worth the small extra cost for a worry-free Camden RV trip.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat is the cancellation policy if my Camden RV trip plans change?
Booking an RV rental in Camden is low-risk because RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and it includes a money-back grace period right after booking. The exact refund depends on how far out from your trip you cancel. You'll see the full policy laid out clearly during checkout and in your booking confirmation. Pro tip: if a storm system is brewing over the Ouachita River valley, contact RVezy support early; they're available before, during, and after every trip to help you sort out next steps.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on my Camden RV rental?
Absolutely, plenty of pet-friendly RV rentals in Camden are ready to welcome your dog. Use the Pet-Friendly filter on RVezy to see hosts who welcome four-legged co-pilots, then confirm any pet fee or size limits in the listing before booking. White Oak Lake State Park (about 25 minutes southwest) allows leashed pets on trails and shoreline, and Poison Springs State Park northwest of town is also leashed-pet-friendly. Pro tip: pack a collapsible water bowl, summer pavement in Camden gets hot fast.
arkansasstateparks.com/parks/white-oak-lake-state-parkCan the RV be delivered to my campsite in Camden?
Yes, RV delivery in Camden is one of the easiest ways to start your trip, especially if you've never towed before. Many RVezy hosts will drive the RV straight to your campsite at White Oak Lake State Park, Poison Springs State Park, or a private property, then level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before leaving. Use the Delivery filter when searching, and message the host to confirm the drop-off address and fee (usually based on distance). Pro tip: delivery is a game changer for first-timers visiting Camden's lakeside parks because you skip backing into a wooded site entirely.
arkansasstateparks.com/parks/white-oak-lake-state-parkHow far can I drive my Camden RV rental, and are there mileage limits?
You can absolutely use your Camden RV rental for a real road trip; mileage policies are set by each host and clearly listed on every listing. Many hosts include 100 to 150 free miles per night, and some offer RV rental with unlimited mileage for longer journeys. From Camden, that's plenty for great loops: Hot Springs National Park is about 75 miles north, Crater of Diamonds State Park roughly 65 miles northwest, Little Rock about 105 miles north, and Texarkana 80 miles west. Pro tip: if you're planning an RV road trip from Camden up to Hot Springs and back via DeGray Lake, ask the host upfront about an unlimited-miles add-on, it's often cheaper than paying overage fees.
nps.gov/hosp/index.htmWhere are the best campgrounds near Camden, AR?
Some of the best campgrounds near Camden are within a 30-minute drive and perfect for RV camping in Camden. White Oak Lake State Park (about 20 miles southwest in Bluff City) offers electric and water sites on a quiet lake known for crappie fishing. Logoly State Park near McNeil is Arkansas's first environmental state park with a small RV loop. White Oak Lake's Class AAA sites have 30/50-amp electric and water, modern bathhouses, and a dump station. Pro tip: book White Oak Lake a few weeks ahead through the Arkansas State Parks reservation system, especially for spring weekends.
arkansasstateparks.com/parks/white-oak-lake-state-parkWhen is the best time of year to visit Camden in an RV?
Spring and fall are the sweet spots for RV camping in Camden. From mid-March through May, daytime temperatures typically sit in a comfortable 65 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit, the daffodils bloom across town, and the Camden Daffodil Festival rolls in each spring. October and early November bring crisp 50 to 75 degree days and excellent leaf color along the Ouachita River. Summers (June to August) average 90 plus degrees with high humidity, so strong air conditioning and shaded sites are key. Winters are mild and pleasant for off-season camping. Pro tip: aim for late March if you want to combine the Daffodil Festival with cool-weather hiking at Poison Springs State Park.
weather.gov/lzk/I've never rented an RV before. Is Camden a good place to start?
Camden is one of the easier places in the country for a first time renting an RV. Traffic is light, roads around town are flat and wide, and you can be parked at a state park within 30 minutes of pickup, no interstate merging required. Every RVezy host gives you a full walkthrough at pickup covering the generator, slide-outs, holding tanks, propane, and leveling, and you can message your host any time during the trip. The 24/7 roadside assistance included with your protection plan is there if anything mechanical comes up. Pro tip: book a delivery-included travel trailer to White Oak Lake State Park so your very first RV trip skips the driving lesson entirely.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat happens if I have a breakdown or flat tire during my trip?
You're not on your own. Every RV rental in Camden booked through RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance with a renter protection plan, so one phone call gets help dispatched whether you're at a campsite on White Oak Lake or pulled over on US-79. Roadside covers things like flat tires, jump starts, lockouts, and towing to a qualified repair shop. For issues inside the RV (a finicky water pump, a tripped breaker), your host is your first call, they know their rig best. Pro tip: snap a quick photo of the roadside-assistance number at pickup so it's handy even without cell service in the Ouachita pine country.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat are the best road trip routes from Camden in an RV?
An RV road trip from Camden opens up some of Arkansas's most scenic country. Top picks: Hot Springs National Park (about 75 miles, 1.5 hours north) for bathhouses and mountain trails; DeGray Lake Resort State Park (about 60 miles northwest) for swimming and golf; Crater of Diamonds State Park near Murfreesboro (65 miles, 1.5 hours) where you keep what you find; Little Rock (about 105 miles north) for the Clinton Center and riverfront; and Texarkana (80 miles west) if you want to cross into Texas. Pro tip: most RVezy hosts allow interstate travel within the continental U.S., just confirm in your listing; travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental.
nps.gov/hosp/planyourvisit/directions.htmHow much should I budget for fuel on a Camden RV trip?
Fuel is manageable on a Camden RV trip thanks to Arkansas's typically lower gas prices. Class B campervans average 18 to 22 MPG, Class C motorhomes get 8 to 12 MPG, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle but usually drop highway MPG noticeably. For a 300-mile weekend loop (say Camden to Hot Springs and back), budget roughly $80 to $130 in a Class C and about $50 in a campervan rental near Camden. Pro tip: fill up at larger truck stops along US-79 or I-30 in Prescott rather than tiny rural stations, the price difference can be meaningful.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Camden?
For most of the year you can book campgrounds near Camden just one to two weeks out, a refreshing change from the months-ahead planning required at bigger parks. Arkansas State Parks like White Oak Lake and Logoly use the official Arkansas State Parks reservation system and accept reservations well in advance. Aim for 4 to 6 weeks of lead time for spring weekends, Daffodil Festival weekend, and any holiday weekend. Private parks in the area often have midweek availability even last-minute. Pro tip: lakeside sites at White Oak Lake go first, request a waterfront loop when you reserve.
arkansasstateparks.com/reservationsWhat are the driving conditions like around Camden?
Driving an RV around Camden is refreshingly low-stress. Main routes (US-79, US-278, and AR-7) are well-maintained highways through rolling pine country, with light traffic outside of weekday rush in town. There are no mountain passes or tight switchbacks, just gentle grades. Watch for deer at dawn and dusk on rural stretches near Poison Springs and White Oak Lake, and keep an eye on summer thunderstorms which can drop heavy rain fast. Pro tip: Camden's historic downtown has some lower tree canopies; stick to the US-79 Bypass when moving a tall motorhome rental in Camden across town.
ardot.gov/travel-information/What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Camden?

White Oak Lake State Park offers Class AAA sites with water, 30/50-amp electric, picnic tables, fire rings, modern bathhouses with hot showers, and a dump station. For boondockers, dump stations are available at White Oak Lake and several truck stops along US-79. arkansasstateparks.com/parks/white-oak-lake-state-parkWhat's actually inside the RVs available to rent in Camden?
Camden RV rentals come fully equipped for real living, not just sleeping. Expect a queen or king bed plus bunks or convertible dinettes (most rigs sleep 4 to 8), a kitchen with stove, microwave, fridge, and sink, a bathroom with toilet and shower, climate-controlled heat and air conditioning, and seatbelts at every designated travel seat. Many listings also include a TV, onboard generator, outdoor speakers, and an awning for shaded afternoons by the Ouachita River. Wi-Fi varies, some hosts include a mobile hotspot as an add-on. Pro tip: when comparing a motorhome rental in Camden vs a campervan rental in Camden, look for the generator hours included; it matters for boondocking at quieter spots near Poison Springs State Park.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Camden%2C%20ArkansasWhat add-ons and pickup options should I expect when renting in Camden?
RVezy hosts in Camden offer a flexible mix of add-ons that make your trip easier. Popular extras include linen and kitchen kits, camp chairs and outdoor rugs, bike racks, portable grills, generators, and Wi-Fi hotspots. Delivery and setup is offered by many hosts, typically priced per mile from their location. Pickup is usually from the host's home or a nearby meeting spot in Camden, with a 30 to 60 minute orientation walkthrough included at no extra cost. Mileage policies and generator-hour caps are listed clearly on each listing. Pro tip: bundling delivery plus a linen and kitchen kit means you arrive at White Oak Lake State Park with nothing to unpack except your cooler, ideal for a family RV trip in Camden.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Camden%2C%20ArkansasHow does payment and the security deposit work on an RVezy booking in Camden?
Payment is simple and secure: when you book your RV rental in Camden, you pay through the RVezy platform with a credit or debit card, never directly to the host, so your transaction is protected. A refundable security deposit is held separately from your booking payment and released back to your card after the trip if the RV is returned in the same condition. To avoid deposit issues, do a thorough walkaround with the host at pickup, snap timestamped photos of the interior and exterior, and return it with fuel and propane levels noted in your agreement. Pro tip: keep your receipts from the dump station and gas stop as a quick reference if anything ever needs clarifying.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksCan I take my Camden RV rental into Texas, Louisiana, or across the border?
Yes, most RV rentals in Camden are cleared for travel throughout the continental United States, which makes Camden a great launchpad: Texarkana is only 80 miles west and Shreveport, Louisiana sits about 95 miles southwest. Just confirm interstate travel with your host before booking and mention any specific routes (a quick message from the listing page does the trick). Travel into Canada may be allowed on a case-by-case basis with the host's written approval, but travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance and the protection plan don't extend across that border. Pro tip: Caddo Lake State Park in Texas is a stunning 2-hour RV road trip from Camden, ask your host about it.
