Campgrounds and RV parks near Anderson, CA

Anderson River Park anchors local recreation with riverfront trails, a boat ramp, and a swimming pond. The Sacramento River is the main draw for anglers chasing salmon, steelhead, and trout, and guides run drift-boat trips out of the Anderson and Cottonwood reaches. Twenty minutes west, Whiskeytown National Recreation Area offers swim beaches at Brandy Creek and Oak Bottom, kayak and paddleboard rentals, and waterfall hikes to Whiskeytown Falls and Brandy Creek Falls. Redding's Sundial Bridge and the Turtle Bay Exploration Park are a short drive north. East of town, Lassen Volcanic National Park has hydrothermal areas, alpine lakes, and the Bumpass Hell boardwalk. Shasta Lake adds houseboating, marinas, and Lake Shasta Caverns tours.

Anderson has a hot-summer Mediterranean climate.
