⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ First-Time Trailer Campers, and We’re Hooked! 🚐🏕️ We had never stayed in a trailer before, let alone rented one for camping, so we were definitely newbies! Thankfully, Oscar made the whole experience a breeze. His communication was fantastic, and he patiently answered all our questions (and trust me, we had plenty! 😂). He delivered the trailer right to our campsite, hooked everything up, leveled it, and gave us a thorough walkthrough of all the interior and exterior features. Basically, he took the guesswork out of camping so we could focus on having fun! The trailer was well-equipped with pots, pans, plates, and knives, although we didn’t even need to use them. Everything was ready to go! The kids especially loved the bunks, which were a huge hit. Best of all, they had such a great time that they’re already saying they’d camp in an RV again. That’s a parenting win in our book! 🙌😂 Oscar truly went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of. We couldn’t have asked for a better first trailer-rental experience. Would we recommend Oscar? Absolutely! Would we rent from him again? You bet! We’re already looking forward to our next adventure. Looks like Oscar has officially converted our family into RV campers! 🚐❤️

California State Park sites in the area, including Thornhill Broome Family Camp and Big Sycamore Canyon Family Camp at Point Mugu, are reserved through ReserveCalifornia, either online or by phone at 1-800-444-7275. The booking window opens six months ahead of arrival on a rolling basis, with new dates released daily at 8 a.m. Pacific time, and summer dates at Point Mugu commonly sell out within minutes of release. A limited number of first-come, first-served sites can be available at Thornhill Broome during off-peak periods. Emma Wood State Beach camping has been closed pending road safety work, so check parks.ca.gov before planning a stay. Privately operated parks such as Evergreen RV Park and Ventura Beach RV Resort take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone, and tend to be the more flexible option for last-minute trips.

Expectations vary widely by campground. Ventura Beach RV Resort and Evergreen RV Park provide full hookups, restrooms, and showers suited to standard RV rentals. Emma Wood State Beach, when open, is primitive and restricted to fully self-contained vehicles, with no tents, no water, no hookups, and no dump station; railroad tracks and Highway 101 run right alongside the sites. Thornhill Broome is beachfront primitive camping with picnic tables, fire rings, restrooms, token-operated showers, and an RV dump station, but no hookups; combined vehicle-and-trailer length is capped at 31 feet, and shade is essentially nonexistent. Big Sycamore Canyon offers more developed facilities including hot showers and a dump station, which Thornhill Broome campers can also use with their reservation. Cell service is reliable in Oxnard and Ventura but spotty in Point Mugu's canyons.
