Campgrounds and RV parks near Elizabeth Lake, CA

Elizabeth Lake is a small community in northwestern Los Angeles County, set in the Sierra Pelona Mountains at about 3,389 feet of elevation and surrounded by the Angeles National Forest. It sits at the edge of the western Antelope Valley and Mojave Desert, with the San Andreas Fault running directly beneath the lake basin. The lake itself is a natural sag pond that can dry up entirely during drought years, so RV travellers should treat it as a landscape feature rather than a guaranteed swim spot. There is no developed lakeside RV campground directly on Elizabeth Lake. Instead, RV renters base out of full-hookup parks in the wider Antelope Valley and Santa Clarita corridor and use the lake area for day trips, hiking, and drives along the San Andreas Fault rim. Antelope Valley Fair RV Park and Los Angeles RV Resort sit on the desert side toward Palmdale and Lancaster. Soledad Canyon RV and Camping Resort, Castaic Lake RV Park, and The Californian RV Resort sit on the Santa Clarita side, closer to Interstate 5 and the Highway 14 split.

Private RV parks in the corridor, including Antelope Valley Fair RV Park, Los Angeles RV Resort, Soledad Canyon RV and Camping Resort, Castaic Lake RV Park, and The Californian RV Resort, are booked directly through each park's own website or phone line. Hookup sites and pull-throughs for larger Class A and fifth-wheel rigs go first on summer weekends, so reserve early. For public campgrounds in the Angeles National Forest, bookings are handled through Recreation.gov, typically up to six months in advance. The county campground at Castaic Lake State Recreation Area is reserved through the County of Los Angeles online reservation system up to 90 days in advance; note that this campground has been temporarily closed following Hughes Fire damage, so confirm status before planning a stay. An Adventure Pass or America the Beautiful Pass is required for day use in many parts of the Angeles National Forest.
