Campgrounds and RV parks near Hamilton Branch, CA

Hamilton Branch is a small lakeside community on the southeast shore of Lake Almanor in Plumas County, at roughly 4,500 feet of elevation in the Lassen National Forest area. The town sits where the Hamilton Branch of the North Fork Feather River enters the lake, making it a practical base for RV travelers who want quick water access without the crowds of the larger Chester or Peninsula areas. RV options range from full-service lakeside parks to forested, hookup-equipped resorts a short drive from the shoreline. Big Cove Resort and Lake Cove Resort and Marina sit on the lake with marina facilities, while North Shore Campground stretches along more than a mile of shoreline on the north side of the lake near Chester. Lassen West RV Village serves travelers heading toward Lassen Volcanic National Park, and Lake Almanor RV and Mobile Park offers longer-stay sites closer to Chester. The area is best known for trout and salmon fishing, flat-water boating, and as one of the closer RV hubs to the southern approach to Lassen Volcanic National Park.

Private lakeside parks around Hamilton Branch are booked directly with the resort by phone or website, not through a central system. Big Cove offers seasonal RV sites for rent from May through October, and the resort emphasizes that RV sites are seasonal only with no overnight or short-term guests, so calling well ahead is essential. Lake Cove Resort and Marina, North Shore Campground, Lassen West RV Village, and Lake Almanor RV and Mobile Park each handle their own bookings, deposits, and cancellation rules. For public-land camping in Lassen Volcanic National Park, reservations go through Recreation.gov. The reservation window opens 6 months in advance, and popular campgrounds like Manzanita Lake fill quickly for July and August weekends. Juniper Lake, Warner Valley, and Southwest Walk-In are first-come, first-served. Lassen National Forest campgrounds around the lake are a mix of reservable and first-come, first-served.
