Campgrounds and RV parks near Solana Beach, CA

Fletcher Cove is the central public beach in Solana Beach, with stair access, a small grass park, and easy surf. The San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve, just north of town, has flat dirt trails through coastal wetlands and is suitable for kids and strollers. The Cedros Avenue Design District near the Coaster station offers shops and restaurants within walking distance of Surf and Turf RV Park. South of the city, Del Mar Fairgrounds hosts the San Diego County Fair in summer and the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club summer racing meet. North-county day trips include Legoland California in Carlsbad, the flower fields, Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, and surfing or tidepooling at Cardiff State Beach and Swami's in Encinitas.

Coastal San Diego County has a mild Mediterranean climate, so camping is viable year-round, but demand and conditions vary by season. Summer, from mid-June through August, is the peak booking window.
