We had a fun road trip in Loveshack25. The listing is accurate, it was super clean and communication was great. Now… we want one ! Ed & Wanda

Host and "rig" were awesome. Desiree knows all the tricks to make your home away from home perfect, it was just what we needed. Communication was great and very accommodating, highly recommend!

David was great plenty of communication whenever needed. This is the first time we have done this and it went great.

The Majestic Weasel was definitely worth our trip. It was my first time every driving and living in an RV. My family rented it from a Fri-Mon. By Sunday I had figured out pretty much everything with how it ran and it began to feel like a home to our family. David was fantastic at quickly responding to all of my questions in figuring out all of the nuances and specifics of an RV. The price was fair and it was so close to Pueblo Resevoir which is where we stayed. I would easily recommend, and consider renting again, The Majestic Weasel.

Frequently asked questions about campgrounds near Blende, CO

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Blende, CO?

Great news for Blende travelers: an RV rental in Blende, CO is often more affordable than you'd expect because you're booking outside the pricier Front Range hubs of Colorado Springs and Denver. On RVezy, travel trailers near Blende typically start around $90 to $150 per night, while Class C motorhomes generally range from $175 to $275 per night, with Class A motorhomes higher. Hosts in the Pueblo area set their own nightly rates, mileage allowances, and add-ons like generator hours or camp chairs. Pro tip: midweek pickups (Monday to Thursday) and shoulder-season trips in April or October are the easiest way to score a cheap RV rental in Blende and still enjoy Lake Pueblo State Park before the summer crowds arrive.

Do I need a special license to rent an RV in Blende, CO?

Good news: a regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Blende, CO. Colorado's basic Class C license covers any two-axle vehicle and allows towing a trailer under 10,000 pounds, which fits virtually every motorhome, campervan, and travel trailer on RVezy. You won't need a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for personal RV use unless your rig exceeds 26,001 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight Rating, and those rigs are rare on the platform. Guests must be 25 or older, and RVezy verifies your ID securely during booking. Visiting from abroad? Bring an International Driving Permit alongside your home license and you're ready to roll toward the Rockies.

What protection or insurance is included with my Blende RV rental?

You can book with confidence: every RV rental in Blende, CO booked through RVezy includes a protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance. The protection plan helps cover damage to the vehicle during your trip, and you choose the level of coverage that fits your comfort at checkout. Roadside assistance is built in, so if you get a flat heading west on US-50 toward Canon City or lose power at a campsite near Lake Pueblo, help is one phone call away. Review the plan details before booking so first-timers can focus on the fun part: the road ahead.

What if my plans change? Can I cancel my Blende RV rental?

Booking is low-risk: RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not the host), and your refund depends on how far out from your trip you cancel. The full policy and refund timelines are published in the RVezy Help Center, so there are no surprises. If a host cancels on you, RVezy refunds the booking or offers travel credits. Pro tip: book early to lock in the RV you want for your Blende RV trip, then review the cancellation policy in your booking confirmation so you know exactly where you stand as your dates approach.

Can I bring my dog on a Blende RV trip?

Absolutely: a pet-friendly RV rental in Blende is easy to find on RVezy. Just toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on the search page and you'll see hosts in the Pueblo area who happily welcome dogs (some allow cats too). Once you arrive, Lake Pueblo State Park allows leashed pets in campgrounds and on most trails, and the Rock Canyon area is a favorite for shoreline walks. The Arkansas River Trail through Pueblo is paved, shaded in spots, and dog-friendly for an easy morning stretch. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet fees and ask about a good leash spot at your campsite.

Can the RV be delivered to my campsite near Blende?

Yes, and it's a game-changer for first-timers: RV delivery in Blende is offered by many RVezy hosts in the greater Pueblo area. They'll tow or drive the rig to Lake Pueblo State Park, the Pueblo KOA, or even your driveway in Blende, level it, hook up power and water, and walk you through every system before they leave. That means you skip the stress of towing a travel trailer down I-25 on day one. Filter listings by Delivery to see who offers it, then message the host for a delivery quote based on miles. It's the simplest way to start a stress-free Pueblo RV trip.

How far can I drive on an RV rental from Blende?

You've got serious range from Blende. Hosts set their own mileage policies, and you'll find everything from generous daily allowances to RV rental with unlimited mileage on RVezy. From Blende you can reach Great Sand Dunes National Park in about 2 hours 30 minutes (roughly 140 miles southwest), Royal Gorge Bridge in about 1 hour (50 miles west), Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs in 45 minutes (45 miles north), and Rocky Mountain National Park in about 3 hours 30 minutes (210 miles north). Pro tip: if you're planning a longer Colorado loop, message the host before booking to negotiate a higher mileage cap or an unlimited-mileage rate.

Where are the best campgrounds near Blende, CO?

You're spoiled for choice. The best campgrounds near Blende start with Lake Pueblo State Park, about 15 miles west, which has roughly 400 campsites across the Northern Plains, Juniper Breaks, Yucca Flats, and Arkansas Point loops, all with picnic tables and fire rings. Pueblo KOA Journey, north of Blende off I-25, offers full-hookup pull-throughs, a pool, and Wi-Fi. Pueblo South / Colorado City KOA, about 30 miles south, is quieter and great for big rigs. Haggard's RV Campground sits along the route toward Canon City for Royal Gorge trips. Pro tip: Arkansas Point fills first, so book early through cpwshop.com for your RV camping Pueblo adventure.

When is the best time of year for an RV trip from Blende?

Blende is a true four-season basecamp, but the sweet spot for most travelers is late April through early June and again from mid-September through October, when daytime highs sit in a comfortable 65 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit and crowds at Lake Pueblo thin out. July and August are hot and sunny, with highs frequently in the low 90s and roughly 12 days a year topping 100, so plan early-morning hikes and lakeside afternoons. Winter is genuinely cold, with January lows around 19 degrees, but the campgrounds at Lake Pueblo State Park stay open year-round. Pro tip: time your trip to the Colorado State Fair in late August for a uniquely Pueblo experience.

I've never rented an RV before. Will I be able to handle it?

You've got this, and you're not alone. First time renting an RV in Blende? Every RVezy host provides a hands-on orientation at pickup or delivery, walking you through the generator, slide-outs, propane, water systems, and dump valves before you drive off. You can also message the host with questions before you book to gauge their support style. Most first-timers in Pueblo start with a Class C motorhome or a small travel trailer because they handle like a large van or pickup, especially on the wide-open stretches of US-50 east of Blende. Pro tip: book delivery to Lake Pueblo State Park for your first night so you can skip driving entirely while you learn the rig.

What happens if something goes wrong on the road?

You're never on your own. Every RV rental in Pueblo and Blende booked on RVezy includes 24/7 roadside assistance as part of the protection plan, covering flats, lockouts, jump-starts, fuel delivery, and towing if needed. If something inside the RV stops working, message your host directly through the RVezy app for quick troubleshooting, since they know their rig best. RVezy's customer support team is also available before, during, and after your trip. Pro tip: save the roadside number in your phone before you leave Blende, and keep your host's number handy too. The most common Pueblo-area issues, dead batteries and dusty AC filters, are usually 10-minute fixes.

Can I take my Blende RV rental across state lines or into Canada?

Yes to neighboring states, with one important caveat: travel into Mexico is not permitted on any RVezy rental because insurance and protection coverage end at the U.S. border. A cross-country RV road trip from Blende into New Mexico, Wyoming, Utah, or Kansas is fine, and most hosts welcome it. Travel into Canada may be allowed depending on the host and the rig's specific coverage, so message them through the listing before booking to confirm. Popular multi-state loops include Blende to Santa Fe to Moab, or Blende up to Grand Teton via I-25. Pro tip: share your route with the host so they can flag any mileage or border-paperwork details.

What kind of fuel mileage should I budget for?

Easy to plan for: most Class C motorhomes on RVezy average 8 to 12 miles per gallon, campervans (Class B) get 14 to 20 MPG, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (typically 10 to 14 MPG combined). Regular gasoline in the Pueblo area generally runs a bit below the Denver metro price, and you'll find easy fill-ups at Loaf 'N Jug and Sam's Club just minutes from Blende on US-50. For a 4-day, 400-mile loop around Lake Pueblo, Royal Gorge, and back, budget roughly $150 to $200 in fuel for a Class C. Pro tip: top off in Pueblo before heading west into the mountains, where gas prices climb noticeably.

How far in advance should I book a campground near Blende?

Plan ahead and you'll get the prime spots. Lake Pueblo State Park accepts reservations up to six months in advance through cpwshop.com, and the Arkansas Point and Northern Plains loops sell out fastest for Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day weekends. For summer weekends, aim to book at least 8 to 12 weeks out; for shoulder-season trips, 2 to 4 weeks is usually plenty. The Pueblo KOA off I-25 takes reservations year-round and is a great backup. Pro tip: a Colorado Parks and Wildlife daily entry pass is required at Lake Pueblo State Park in addition to your campsite reservation, so factor that into your plans.

What are local driving conditions like around Blende?

Driving an RV around Blende is friendlier than most Colorado destinations because you're on the high plains at about 4,700 feet, not the mountains. Highway 50 east of Blende is flat and straight, and I-25 north toward Colorado Springs is wide and well-maintained. Heading west toward Canon City and the Royal Gorge, the grade gradually climbs into the foothills, easy in a Class C but plan extra time. Watch for sudden afternoon thunderstorms in July and August (lightning and hail are real), gusty crosswinds on the plains, and occasional icy mornings November through March. Pro tip: check cotrip.org before you roll out for live road conditions, especially over Monument Hill between Pueblo and Colorado Springs.

What amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Blende?

Solid amenities across the board. Lake Pueblo State Park's Northern Plains and Arkansas Point loops offer paved pads, picnic tables, fire rings, electric hookups (30 and 50 amp at most sites), flush toilets, hot showers, a dump station, and potable water fill-up stations. Juniper Breaks is more basic with vault toilets. Pueblo KOA Journey adds full hookups, Wi-Fi, cable TV, laundry, and a pool. For dumping and freshwater on the road, the dump station near the Northern Plains complex is open seasonally, and Pueblo KOA welcomes non-guests for a small fee. Pro tip: ask your host whether the RV has heated holding tanks if you're booking a shoulder-season Lake Pueblo State Park trip.

What's actually inside the RVs available in Blende?

More than you'd guess. A typical motorhome rental in Blende comes with real beds (queens, bunks, or convertible dinettes), a full kitchen with fridge, freezer, stove, microwave, and sink, a bathroom with toilet and shower, climate control with both furnace and air conditioning, and seatbelted seating for travel. Most Class C and Class A rentals also include a TV, and many hosts add Wi-Fi hotspots, generators for boondocking, outdoor speakers, and solar setups. Campervan rental Blende options (Class B) are smaller but include compact kitchens and convertible beds, perfect for couples exploring the Arkansas River corridor. Pro tip: filter by Sleeps count on RVezy to match the right rig to your family or friend group.

What add-ons and pickup options are available?

Hosts make it easy to customize. Popular add-ons for a Pueblo RV rental include camp chairs and tables, bedding and linen packages, bike racks, BBQs, generator-hour packages, kayak or paddleboard racks (perfect for Lake Pueblo), and pet packages. Fees are listed on each listing page, so there are no surprises at checkout. For pickup and dropoff, most hosts meet you at their home base near Pueblo, but delivery is available from many for an extra fee, often to Lake Pueblo State Park or the Pueblo KOA. Use Instant Book on listings that have it for immediate confirmation. Pro tip: add a paddleboard package if you're heading to Rock Canyon Swim Beach, it's a Pueblo summer essential.

How does payment and the security deposit work?

It's all simple and transparent. When you book an RV rental in Colorado through RVezy, you pay securely through the platform: a portion at booking and the balance before your trip starts. The security deposit is separate from the booking payment and is placed as a hold on your card a few days before pickup, then released after the trip ends assuming the RV comes back in the same condition it left. Deposit amounts vary by rig and are clearly shown on the listing before you confirm. To avoid issues, do a thorough walkthrough at pickup with photos and video, follow the host's mileage and generator rules, and return the RV with the same fuel and propane levels. Pro tip: keep gas station receipts from your Pueblo loop for an easy, drama-free return.
