Campgrounds near Heritage Bay, Florida
Heritage Bay sits in northeast Naples, Florida, just off Immokalee Road near the eastern edge of Collier County. The area places RV travelers within reach of Gulf beaches, Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, and the western fringe of the Everglades, with easy access south to Marco Island and north to Bonita Springs and Fort Myers via I-75.
Most overnight RV options nearby are private resort-style parks with paved sites, full hookups, and pool complexes. Crystal Lake RV Resort and Sanctuary RV Resort serve a mix of snowbird and short-stay travelers. Imperial Bonita Estates and Club Naples RV Resort Morgan RV Resorts offer additional inventory north toward Bonita Springs, while Bonita Terra caters to the 55+ market.
For a state-park experience, Collier-Seminole State Park sits on the Tamiami Trail about 20 miles southeast of Naples and provides a natural alternative to the private resorts, with a 105-site campground that accommodates rigs up to 50 feet, with sites 1-19 for tents and pop-ups only.
Things to do near Heritage Bay
Audubon Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary sits about 30 minutes east of Naples and protects the largest remaining stand of virgin bald cypress trees in North America. A 2.25-mile raised boardwalk winds through pine flatwoods, wet prairie, cypress forest, and central marsh, making it a manageable outing for families.
Gulf beaches at Vanderbilt, Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park, and Clam Pass are within a short drive west. Kayakers can paddle the Imperial River in Bonita Springs, and the boat basin at Collier-Seminole has a ramp that provides access to the Blackwater River, a tidal river that flows to the Gulf.
Downtown Naples adds Fifth Avenue South shopping and the Naples Zoo. Marco Island, Everglades City, and airboat operators along US 41 round out day-trip options for RV travelers based near Heritage Bay.

Southwest Florida runs on a two-season pattern: a dry, mild winter and a hot, wet summer. Peak RV demand runs December through March, when temperatures are comfortable and rainfall is low. Private resorts near Heritage Bay carry snowbird occupancy that often stretches into April, and Collier-Seminole fills to capacity across the same window, making advance reservations essential.
Late spring is a shoulder window with warmer days and thinner crowds. Camping from June through September brings biting insects and daily afternoon thunderstorms, and low-lying trails are subject to flooding through the wet season. Atlantic hurricane season officially runs June through November, with peak risk in August and September.
October and November bring cooler mornings, drying trails, and the start of the snowbird return. Reservations at Florida state parks can be made up to 11 months in advance, and popular winter dates near Naples typically book out that far ahead.

How to book campgrounds near Heritage Bay
Private resorts around Heritage Bay, including Crystal Lake RV Resort, Sanctuary RV Resort, Imperial Bonita Estates, Bonita Terra, and Club Naples RV Resort Morgan RV Resorts, take reservations directly through their own websites or front offices. Winter monthly and seasonal stays are common and often booked many months out.
For Collier-Seminole State Park, reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance through the Florida State Parks reservation system operated by ReserveAmerica. The 105 campsites accommodate tents through motorhomes up to 50 feet, with sites 1-19 reserved for tents and pop-ups only.
For winter travel, book as soon as the 11-month window opens. Cancellation lists and waitlist services can help catch openings when preferred dates are full.
What to expect
Sites at private resorts near Heritage Bay are typically paved or hard-packed with full hookups, laundry, pools, and pickleball or shuffleboard. Many are gated and skew toward longer stays, so short-stay availability tightens in winter. Big-rig access is generally good, with pull-throughs common.
At Collier-Seminole, expect a wilder setting. All sites have electricity, water, a grill and picnic table, and sites cluster closer together than the park's acreage might suggest. The restrooms have hot showers, two have laundry facilities, and a centralized dump station is available for RV campers.
Bring strong insect repellent year-round. Summer visitors should prepare for intense mosquito activity, and alligators are common in canals and ponds, so keep pets leashed and away from waterlines.

How much does it cost to rent an RV in Heritage Bay, FL?
RV rental in Heritage Bay is more affordable than many travelers expect, especially when costs are split with family or friends. Motorhome rentals near Heritage Bay average around $200 per night on RVezy, while travel trailers and fifth wheels typically run closer to $125 to $150 per night. Pro tip: filter by Instant Book and message a few hosts to compare add-ons like generators, camp chairs, and kayaks that can be bundled into your booking.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Heritage%20Bay%2C%20FloridaWhat license do I need to rent an RV in Heritage Bay, FL?
Good news: a standard driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Heritage Bay. Florida does not require a commercial driver's license (CDL) or any special RV endorsement for the Class A, Class B, Class C motorhomes, travel trailers, or fifth wheels listed on RVezy. You'll need to be at least 25 years old, and RVezy verifies your ID right through the platform when you book. Visiting from outside the US? Grab an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your home country's auto association before you fly in, usually for under $20. With paperwork sorted in minutes, you can focus on the fun part: planning your Naples-area RV trip.
flhsmv.gov/driver-licenses-id-cards/what-to-bring/Is my Heritage Bay RV rental protected if something goes wrong?
Yes, every RV rental in Heritage Bay booked through RVezy includes a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance built into your reservation. The protection plan helps cover damage to the RV during your trip, giving you peace of mind whether you are heading to Collier-Seminole State Park or driving the Tamiami Trail. During checkout you choose from RVezy protection tiers, so you select the level of coverage that fits your trip and budget (the renter selects the plan, not the host). Paired with Florida's flat, easy-driving terrain, it makes for one of the lowest-stress RV road trips in the country.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if I need to cancel my Heritage Bay RV trip?
Booking your Heritage Bay RV rental is low-risk because RVezy sets a standardized cancellation policy that applies to your reservation. You get a grace-period window shortly after booking to cancel for a full refund of the booking payment, with structured refund options based on how far ahead of your trip you cancel. Hurricane season runs June through November in Southwest Florida, and RVezy reviews extenuating circumstances such as named storms or mandatory evacuations. If your plans change, log into your RVezy account and start the cancellation from your trip dashboard, or contact RVezy support for help.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037736674-Understanding-the-cancellation-policy-for-guestsCan I bring my dog on a Heritage Bay RV rental?
Yes, pet-friendly RV rentals in Heritage Bay are easy to find on RVezy. Just check the Pet-Friendly filter when you search, and you'll see plenty of motorhomes and travel trailers whose hosts welcome dogs (some even welcome cats and other pets). Once you're rolling, your pup will love the area: Naples Dog Beach at the north end of Lowdermilk Park allows leash-free play in the Gulf, and the Gordon River Greenway has shaded, dog-friendly trails just 15 minutes from Heritage Bay. Many local campgrounds like Naples KOA Holiday and Collier-Seminole State Park allow leashed pets too. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm any pet fee and bring a copy of recent vaccination records.
floridastateparks.org/learn/pets-florida-state-parksCan the RV be delivered to my campground or hotel in Heritage Bay?
Yes, RV delivery in Heritage Bay is a popular option on RVezy, especially for first-time renters. Many local hosts will drive the RV to your campground, vacation rental, or the Naples Municipal Airport area, level it, hook up water and power, and walk you through every system before they leave. This is a game-changer if you are flying in from out of state or feel uneasy about handling a larger rig on I-75. Use the Delivery filter to see hosts who offer this service, then message them with your delivery address to confirm fees and distance. Pro tip: pair delivery with a stationary stay at Crystal Lake RV Resort for a turnkey Florida vacation.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Heritage%20Bay%2C%20FloridaHow far can I drive on an RV rental from Heritage Bay?
You've got plenty of range to explore from Heritage Bay, and many RVezy hosts include generous mileage allowances (some even offer RV rentals with unlimited mileage for longer trips). Popular drives from Heritage Bay include Marco Island beaches (25 miles southwest), Everglades National Park's Shark Valley entrance (45 miles east on US-41), Sanibel and Captiva Islands (60 miles north), Key West via the Overseas Highway (about 230 miles south), and Miami's South Beach (125 miles east across Alligator Alley). Each host sets their own per-mile rate (typically $0.30 to $0.45 over the included allowance), so check the listing's mileage policy and message the host if you're planning a longer Florida RV road trip from Heritage Bay.
nps.gov/ever/planyourvisit/directions.htmWhere are the best campgrounds near Heritage Bay, FL?
You're spoiled for choice when it comes to RV camping in Heritage Bay. Just minutes away, Crystal Lake RV Resort on Collier Boulevard offers 490 full-hookup sites, three pools, pickleball, and a golf course. Naples KOA Holiday on Barefoot Williams Road has 187 sites with shaded pads, a pool, and easy access to Marco Island. Collier-Seminole State Park (20 miles south on US-41) has 104 sites with electric hookups right inside a real Florida mangrove forest. Sun Retreats Naples East on Beck Boulevard offers 305 big-rig-friendly sites with a heated pool. For something different, Endless Summer RV Park is family-run and quiet. Pro tip: book the state park six to eleven months in advance through ReserveAmerica, especially for January through March.
floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/collier-seminole-state-parkWhen is the best time for an RV trip from Heritage Bay?
Heritage Bay shines from late October through April, when daytime temperatures hover between 75 and 82 degrees Fahrenheit, humidity drops, and mosquitoes practically disappear. This is the legendary Southwest Florida 'snowbird season,' and it's why so many RVers flock here from December through March. Shoulder months like late October, early November, and April are the smart-money sweet spot: gorgeous weather with lower nightly rates on your RV rental in Florida. Summer (June to September) brings 90-degree heat, daily afternoon thunderstorms, and Atlantic hurricane season, but it's also the cheapest time to book and the Everglades come alive. Pro tip: aim for mid-November through mid-December for the best balance of weather, price, and availability.
weather.gov/mfl/climateI've never driven an RV before. Will I be okay around Heritage Bay?
You've picked one of the easiest places in America to learn. Heritage Bay sits right off Immokalee Road with flat terrain, wide lanes, and no mountains or tunnels to worry about. Every RVezy host gives you a hands-on orientation at pickup, walking you through driving tips, hookups, the awning, slide-outs, and the propane system, so you're never left guessing. If you'd rather skip city driving entirely, choose a host who offers delivery and you can have the RV set up at your campsite before you even arrive. For your first-time renting an RV, stick to a Class C motorhome or travel trailer in the 22 to 28-foot range. Pro tip: practice in the parking lot before hitting I-75.
flhsmv.gov/safety-center/driving-safety/What happens if my RV breaks down near Heritage Bay?
You are covered 24/7. Every RVezy booking includes round-the-clock roadside assistance through the renter protection plan, so help is one phone call away whether you are stopped at a Pilot Travel Center on I-75 or pulled over near Big Cypress National Preserve. Roadside assistance handles common issues such as flat tires, dead batteries, lockouts, fuel delivery, and towing to a qualified service center. Your host is also typically a message or call away for quick questions about the specific RV. Naples and the wider Collier County area have multiple RV service shops within a short drive of Heritage Bay. Save the RVezy support number in your phone before you leave and you will never feel stranded.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Heritage Bay RV rental to other states or across the border?
An RV road trip from Heritage Bay opens up the entire Southeast. Most RVezy hosts allow travel throughout Florida and into Georgia, Alabama, the Carolinas, and beyond, so trips to Savannah, the Great Smoky Mountains, or up the Atlantic coast are very doable. Cross-border travel into Canada may be allowed with host approval, so message the host before booking to confirm. Travel to Mexico is not supported because RVezy insurance and protection coverage do not extend there. Popular long routes from Heritage Bay include the Florida Keys loop (Key West and back, about 460 miles round-trip) and the Gulf Coast drive up to Tampa and Cedar Key. Always confirm out-of-state plans with the host on the listing page.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityWhat about fuel costs for a Heritage Bay RV trip?
Fuel is one of your biggest variable costs, but easy to budget for. Class C motorhomes typically get 8 to 10 miles per gallon, Class A's 6 to 8 MPG, and travel trailers depend on your tow vehicle (usually 10 to 14 MPG). Florida gas prices typically run close to the national average, and there are Wawa, RaceTrac, and Pilot stations all along Immokalee Road and I-75 right by Heritage Bay. For a week-long Naples RV trip averaging 400 miles, budget roughly $150 to $250 in fuel for a midsize motorhome. Pro tip: use the GasBuddy app to find the cheapest diesel or gas before you fill up, and avoid topping off on Marco Island where prices jump.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Heritage Bay?
For peak season (January through March), book Florida state parks the day they open: ReserveAmerica releases sites exactly 11 months in advance at 8 a.m. Eastern, and spots at Collier-Seminole and nearby Koreshan State Park vanish in minutes. Private campgrounds like Naples KOA Holiday, Crystal Lake RV Resort, and Sun Retreats Naples East fill up 3 to 6 months ahead for winter weekends but often have midweek openings on 2 to 4 weeks' notice. For summer and early fall (May through September), you can frequently snag sites with just a few days' lead time. Pro tip: if you can't get into a state park, book a private resort first and join the state park cancellation waitlist, openings happen daily.
floridastateparks.org/learn/reservationsWhat are driving conditions like around Heritage Bay?
Driving an RV around Heritage Bay is genuinely easy: flat roads, wide shoulders, and almost no elevation change. Immokalee Road right by Heritage Bay is a six-lane corridor that connects to I-75 in five minutes. I-75 (locally called Alligator Alley between Naples and Fort Lauderdale) is a straight, well-maintained interstate with rest stops every 30 to 40 miles. Watch for sudden summer thunderstorms (June through September) that can drop visibility fast, and stay alert for wildlife crossings on US-41 through the Everglades, especially at dawn and dusk. Avoid driving big rigs in downtown Naples on 5th Avenue South where parking is tight. Pro tip: most Florida overpasses clear 14 feet, but always know your RV's height before any unfamiliar route.
fdot.gov/traffic/What amenities will I find at campgrounds near Heritage Bay?
Campgrounds near Heritage Bay are some of the most well-equipped in the country, which is part of why Southwest Florida is such a magnet for snowbirds. Expect full hookups (water, 30/50-amp electric, and sewer) at most private resorts like Crystal Lake RV Resort and Naples KOA. Many also offer heated pools, laundry, Wi-Fi, propane refills, and dump stations. State parks like Collier-Seminole offer electric and water hookups (no sewer at the site) plus a central dump station. Potable water fill-ups are available at every campground and most Pilot/Flying J truck stops on I-75. Pro tip: bring a 25-foot drinking-water hose, a sewer hose with elbow, and a surge protector, three little items that save big headaches on your first night.
floridastateparks.org/learn/camping-florida-state-parksWhat's inside a typical Heritage Bay RV rental?
Modern RV rentals in Heritage Bay are well-equipped for a comfortable Florida trip. Most motorhomes and trailers on RVezy sleep 4 to 8 people across queen beds, bunks, and convertible dinettes. Standard features include a full kitchen (fridge/freezer, stove, microwave, sink), a bathroom with toilet and shower, roof air conditioning (essential in Florida), heat, and a propane water heater. Many rentals also include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, an outdoor awning, and add-ons such as bikes or beach chairs. Class C motorhomes have seatbelted seating for travel, while travel trailers are towed and parked at the site. Pro tip: filter by Sleeps count and confirm whether the listing includes linens, kitchenware, and a generator for off-grid Everglades adventures.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Heritage%20Bay%2C%20FloridaWhat add-ons and pickup options do Heritage Bay hosts offer?
Heritage Bay hosts on RVezy offer add-ons that make your trip easier. Common options include generators (often $15 to $30 per day, useful for boondocking in Big Cypress), bike racks, kayaks and paddleboards, camping chairs, propane refills, linen and kitchen kits, and even pre-stocked groceries. For motorhome rental in Heritage Bay, most pickups happen at the host's home in nearby Naples, Bonita Springs, or Estero, with delivery available for an extra fee. Mileage policies vary: many hosts include 100 free miles per night, and some offer unlimited mileage packages. Pro tip: ask the host about their dump-and-return policy, since paying a small dump fee is often easier than spending your last morning at a sanitation station.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Heritage%20Bay%2C%20FloridaHow do payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is simple and secure: you pay through the RVezy platform with a credit or debit card when you book, never directly to the host, which keeps your money protected and confirms your booking instantly. A refundable security deposit is held separately from the booking payment, typically a few hundred to a couple thousand dollars depending on the RV, and it is released back to you after the trip provided the RV is returned in good condition with no policy violations such as excess mileage, smoking, or missing items. To avoid deposit issues on your Heritage Bay RV trip, do a quick walkthrough video at pickup and dropoff, refill fuel and propane to the agreed level, and empty the holding tanks before return.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksHow do I handle Florida's heat and hurricane season in my RV?
Heritage Bay summers are hot, with typical highs around 90 to 92 degrees Fahrenheit and high humidity from June through September, but every RV rental on RVezy comes with roof air conditioning that handles it well when plugged into shore power. To stay cool, park in shade when possible, run the AC starting mid-morning, and use reflective window shades. For hurricane season (June 1 through November 30), check the National Hurricane Center forecast before and during your trip, and never ride out a named storm in an RV. If a storm threatens, RVezy reviews cancellation requests under its extenuating circumstances guidance, and roadside assistance can help with safe relocation. Pro tip: travel in the cooler shoulder season (late October or April) for the best mix of weather and value.
