Campgrounds near Lely
Lely sits in Collier County just east of downtown Naples, close to the Gulf coast in southwest Florida. The area serves as a practical base for RV travelers heading to Marco Island beaches, the Ten Thousand Islands, and the western edge of the Everglades. Interstate 75 and US 41 (Tamiami Trail) both run nearby, keeping campground access straightforward for larger rigs.
Private RV resorts dominate the local inventory. Options within a short drive include Marco Naples RV Resort, Marco Naples, Neapolitan Cove RV Resort, and Naples RV Resort, plus the 55+ Northtide Naples RV Resort. Most offer full hookups with 30 and 50 amp service, paved or concrete pads, and shared amenities such as pools, laundry, and Wi-Fi.
Public camping is available a short drive east at Collier-Seminole State Park along the Tamiami Trail, which has electric sites and a dump station. Big Cypress National Preserve and Everglades National Park add backcountry and frontcountry options within roughly an hour.
Things to do near Lely
Beach days are the easiest draw. Marco Island's Tigertail and South Beach sit about 20 minutes south, and Naples Pier, Vanderbilt Beach, and Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park are within a short drive north. Shelling, dolphin spotting, and Gulf swimming fill most family itineraries.
For wildlife, the mangrove swamps at Collier-Seminole State Park host varied birdlife and alligators, and paddling trails run through Ten Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuge. Everglades National Park's Shark Valley tram and Big Cypress boardwalks are day-trip friendly.
Closer to camp, families use the Gordon River Greenway for biking, Naples Zoo for a half-day, and Naples Botanical Garden for a quieter afternoon. Golf, pickleball, and fishing charters are widely available across the Naples area.

Southwest Florida runs on a two-season calendar. November through April is the dry season and the best window for exploring Collier County's swamps, with fewer mosquitoes and lower humidity. This is also peak RV season: snowbirds fill private resorts for weeks or months at a time, and public campgrounds see heavy weekend demand.
Late spring brings rising heat, humidity, and the start of the wet season. From June through September, expect daily afternoon thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and strong mosquito activity in wooded and swampy areas. Atlantic hurricane season runs June through November, with peak activity in August and September; travelers should track NHC advisories and confirm park status before arrival.
October and early November are transitional. Storms taper, humidity drops, and private RV parks tend to sit below winter peak demand. Sites become progressively harder to book from Thanksgiving through Easter, especially for stays longer than a week.

How to book near Lely
Private RV resorts around Lely, including Marco Naples RV Resort, Neapolitan Cove RV Resort, Naples RV Resort, and Northtide Naples RV Resort, take reservations directly through their own websites or by phone. Winter stays commonly book several months ahead, and many properties require minimum stays or offer discounted monthly and seasonal options.
For state park camping at Collier-Seminole and other Florida State Parks, use the official Florida State Parks reservation system. Florida residents may make campsite or cabin reservations up to 11 months in advance, while non-Florida residents may make campsite or cabin reservations up to 10 months in advance. Sites not reserved or occupied may be rented to walk-in visitors on a first-come, first-served basis. Everglades National Park sites are booked through Recreation.gov.
What to expect near Lely
Terrain around Lely is flat, low, and near sea level, which makes site leveling easy but drainage slow after heavy rain. Expect sandy or crushed-shell pads at many private resorts, with palm and pine shade varying by park. Big-rig access is generally good along US 41 and Collier Boulevard.
Hookups at private resorts typically include water, sewer, and 30/50 amp electric, with cable or Wi-Fi at many sites. State park sites usually offer water and electric but no sewer at the pad; dump stations are on site.
Bring insect repellent, especially outside the dry season, and plan for strong sun year-round. Alligators are common in freshwater ponds and canals: keep pets leashed and away from water edges. Afternoon storms in summer can be intense but usually brief, so outdoor plans work best in the morning.

How much does an RV rental in Lely, FL typically cost?
RV rental in Lely, FL is often more affordable than people expect when you book through a peer-to-peer marketplace like RVezy. Travel trailers in the Naples area generally start around $90 to $150 per night, Class C motorhomes range from $175 to $300, and larger Class A coaches can run $250 to $450 nightly. Snowbird season (January through March) is the priciest stretch, so book early or aim for late April through early December when rates drop. To find a cheap RV rental in Lely, FL, filter by price, look at travel trailers (often the best value), and consider weekday pickups. Many hosts also offer weekly discounts for stays of five nights or more.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Lely%2C%20FloridaDo I need a special license to rent an RV in Lely, FL?
Good news: your regular driver's license is all you need to rent an RV in Lely, FL. Florida does not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or any special endorsement for personal RVs, even larger Class A motorhomes. To book on RVezy you generally need to be at least 25 years old, and you will upload a photo of your license through the platform for quick ID verification before pickup. Visiting from outside the US? Bring your home country license plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) from your local auto club. That's it, no road test and no RV school required. Most first-time renters in the Naples area are pleasantly surprised at how simple the paperwork is.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039008774-Understanding-approved-driver-requirementsWhat protection is included with my Lely, FL RV rental?
Every booking on RVezy comes with a renter protection plan and 24/7 roadside assistance built in, so you can hit the Tamiami Trail with confidence. During checkout you choose from several protection tiers, with higher levels offering lower deductibles and broader coverage for items like collision damage and towing. Hosts do not choose your coverage, you do, which means you control your comfort level. For a motorhome rental in Lely, FL, many renters pick a mid-tier plan as a balanced option. Pro tip: do a thorough walkaround video at pickup and dropoff so any pre-existing dings are clearly documented.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailWhat if I need to cancel my RV rental in Lely?
Booking is low-risk because RVezy sets the cancellation policy (not individual hosts), and there is a grace-period window after booking where you can cancel for a full refund. Beyond that, refund eligibility depends on how far out you cancel before your trip start date, with more flexibility the earlier you cancel. You will see the exact terms that apply to your trip during checkout before you pay. If plans shift, contact RVezy support through the Help Center. Pro tip: hurricane season runs June through November in Collier County, so trip insurance is a smart add-on for late-summer Lely RV trip plans.

Yes, pet-friendly RV rental options in Lely, FL are plentiful. On RVezy, toggle the Pet-Friendly filter on the search page to see motorhomes and trailers whose owners welcome dogs (and sometimes cats). Once you arrive, your pup will love leashed-dog access at area beaches and the off-leash Naples Dog Park on Riverside Circle. Collier-Seminole State Park also welcomes leashed pets at its campground. Pro tip: message the host before booking to confirm your dog's size and breed are a fit, and ask about nearby pet-friendly trails.
colliercountyfl.gov/your-government/divisions-f-r/parks-recreationCan the RV be delivered to my campground or vacation rental in Lely?
Yes, RV delivery in Lely, FL is a popular option on RVezy and it's perfect if you are flying into Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) or simply prefer not to drive a big rig through town. Many local hosts will deliver the RV directly to your campsite at places like Naples / Marco Island KOA or Collier-Seminole State Park, or even a private driveway, then handle full setup including leveling, slide-outs, and hookups. Delivery fees typically range from $2 to $5 per mile from the host's location, with some hosts offering free delivery within a set radius. Use the Delivery filter when searching. Pro tip: ask the host to include a full walkthrough at delivery so you can focus on relaxing.

nps.gov/ever/index.htmWhere are the best campgrounds near Lely, FL to park my RV?

Naples / Marco Island KOA Holiday on Barefoot Williams Road is a resort-style option with a pool, dog park, and easy beach access. Club Naples RV Resort on Beck Boulevard is popular with snowbirds and includes amenities like pickleball and laundry. Crystal Lake RV Resort on Collier Boulevard offers a spring-fed lake. For a wilder vibe, Big Cypress National Preserve's Midway Campground is about an hour east. Pro tip: full-hookup sites near Naples book up fast for January through March, so reserve six to nine months ahead through ReserveAmerica or the park's own site.
floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/collier-seminole-state-parkWhen is the best time of year for an RV trip in Lely, FL?
The sweet spot for RV camping in Lely is mid-November through mid-April, when daytime highs sit in a comfortable 72 to 82 degrees Fahrenheit, humidity drops, and mosquitoes back off. This is also snowbird season, so campgrounds fill quickly. Late October and early May are shoulder-season gems with smaller crowds and lower prices. Summer (June through September) is hot and humid with highs near 90, daily afternoon thunderstorms, and hurricane risk, but it is also the cheapest time and the Everglades are dramatically alive. Winter is dry and breezy, ideal for kayaking the Ten Thousand Islands. Pro tip: book your RV rental Florida trip for January or February if you want reliable sunshine, or May for the best value-to-weather ratio.
weather.gov/mfl/I've never rented an RV before. Will I be okay driving in the Naples area?
You will do great, first time renting an RV in Lely is actually easier than in most US cities. The Naples area has wide, flat, well-marked roads, no mountains, and minimal high-traffic interstates outside of I-75 (Alligator Alley). Every RVezy host provides a hands-on orientation at pickup covering driving, hookups, slide-outs, and dumping, so you are not learning solo. Choose a Class C motorhome or travel trailer under 25 feet for the easiest handling, especially if you are heading to narrow campground roads in the Everglades. Pro tip: practice in a quiet parking lot for 15 minutes after pickup, and ask your host for their cell number so you can text quick questions on the road.
fdot.gov/safety/What happens if my RV breaks down during my trip?
You're covered. Every RVezy booking includes 24/7 roadside assistance, so if you get a flat tire on the Tamiami Trail, a dead battery at a campsite, or a mechanical issue heading toward the Keys, help is one phone call away. Roadside service can dispatch a tow, jumpstart, tire change, or fuel delivery to your location. Your host is also typically your first call for quick mechanical or systems questions, and most Naples-area hosts respond promptly. RVezy customer support is available before, during, and after your trip through the Help Center. Pro tip: save the roadside assistance number and your host's number in your phone before you pull away from pickup, and download offline maps for the Everglades where cell coverage is spotty.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/34008759079835-RVezy-renter-protection-plans-in-detailCan I take my Lely RV rental across state lines or into Canada or Mexico?
Yes for US travel, with one important note on borders. Most RVezy hosts in Lely allow interstate travel throughout the continental US, so an RV road trip from Lely to Savannah, the Outer Banks, or up to New England is doable, just confirm with the host before booking since some prefer to keep the RV within Florida or the Southeast. Travel to Mexico is not permitted on RVezy rentals because insurance and protection coverage do not extend there. Travel to Canada may be allowed on a case-by-case basis with host approval. Popular multi-state routes from Lely include the Gulf Coast loop through Tampa and Pensacola, and the Atlantic run up to St. Augustine. Pro tip: message the host with your full itinerary so they can confirm coverage.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039340074-Insurance-coverage-validityHow much should I budget for fuel on my Lely, FL RV trip?
Fuel is one of your biggest variables but it is easy to budget. Class C motorhomes around Naples typically get 8 to 10 miles per gallon, Class A coaches 6 to 8 mpg, and a campervan rental in Lely (Class B) can hit 14 to 18 mpg. For a 500-mile week in a Class C, plan on roughly $200 to $250 in fuel based on current Florida prices. Most Naples-area gas stations on US-41 and Collier Boulevard can accommodate RVs, and Pilot/Flying J on I-75 near Exit 101 has RV-friendly lanes. Pro tip: use the GasBuddy app to find the cheapest diesel and gas along your route and avoid filling up on the Tamiami Trail east of Naples where prices spike.
eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/How far in advance should I book a campground near Lely?
For winter trips, book as early as you possibly can, ideally six to eleven months out. Florida State Parks like Collier-Seminole release reservations on a rolling 11-month window through ReserveAmerica, and prime sites for January through March often sell out within minutes of becoming available. Private parks like Naples / Marco Island KOA and Club Naples RV Resort also fill up by early fall for the winter season. For summer and shoulder-season Lely trips, you can usually find sites two to four weeks out. Big Cypress National Preserve campgrounds book through Recreation.gov. Pro tip: set a calendar reminder for the morning your booking window opens and have your account, payment, and site preferences ready to go.
floridastateparks.org/learn/reservationsWhat are driving conditions like around Lely and Naples?
Driving in the Lely area is genuinely easy, especially compared to other Florida metros. Roads are flat, wide, and well-maintained, with US-41 (Tamiami Trail) and Collier Boulevard handling most local traffic. Snowbird season (December through April) does bring congestion on US-41 and around Coastland Center, so plan errands for mid-morning or after 6 p.m. Watch for sudden afternoon thunderstorms in summer that can drop visibility quickly, and for wildlife near canal-side roads east of town. I-75 (Alligator Alley) toward Fort Lauderdale is a straight shot with rest areas along the way. Pro tip: avoid driving an RV on Naples' narrow downtown streets near 5th Avenue South and 3rd Street South, park elsewhere and rideshare in.
fl511.com/What hookups and amenities can I expect at campgrounds near Lely?
Campgrounds near Lely are well-equipped for any size rig. Most private parks like Naples / Marco Island KOA, Club Naples, and Crystal Lake RV Resort offer full hookups, 30/50-amp electric, water, sewer, WiFi, and often pools, laundry, and clubhouses. Collier-Seminole State Park offers electric and water at sites plus a centralized dump station and bathhouse, but no individual sewer hookups. Dump stations are available at Collier-Seminole and Big Cypress National Preserve's Midway Campground. Potable water fills are easy to find at any state park or private resort. Pro tip: if you are staying somewhere without sewer, ask your host whether the RV has a macerator pump or if you will need to use the dump station before checkout, knowing this in advance saves time.
nps.gov/bicy/planyourvisit/camping.htmWhat's typically included inside RV rentals in Lely, FL?
You will be set up for comfort. Most RV rentals in Lely come fully equipped with a queen or king bed, additional sleeping for 2 to 6 in convertible dinettes and bunks, a working kitchen with fridge, freezer, stove, microwave, sink, and basic cookware, plus a full bathroom with shower and toilet. Air conditioning is standard (and essential in Southwest Florida), and most rigs include a TV, Bluetooth stereo, and a generator or solar for off-grid power. Many hosts also include linens, towels, beach chairs, and outdoor mats. WiFi hotspots are sometimes offered as an add-on. Seatbelt counts vary by RV, so check the listing if you are traveling with kids. Pro tip: review the listing's amenities checklist closely and message the host if you need anything specific like a stroller, kayak rack, or extra bedding.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Lely%2C%20FloridaWhat add-ons and options can I get with my Lely RV rental?
RVezy hosts in the Naples area offer optional add-ons to customize your trip. Common extras include kitchen kits ($25 to $50), bed and bath linens ($25 to $75), portable generators ($25 to $40 per day), beach gear and bikes, propane refills, and tank-emptying service so you don't have to dump yourself ($50 to $100). Pickup is usually at the host's home or storage location, with delivery available for a per-mile fee. Mileage policies typically include 100 to 150 free miles per day, with overage charged at $0.30 to $0.50 per mile. Generator hours often include 3 to 5 free per day. Pro tip: bundle the tank-dump service and linens if it is your first RV trip, it lets you focus on Naples beaches instead of logistics.
rvezy.com/rv-search?SearchAddress=Lely%2C%20FloridaHow does payment and the security deposit work on RVezy?
Payment is straightforward and fully handled through the RVezy platform, so you never pay the host directly in cash. You pay a portion at booking to confirm your trip and the balance closer to your start date, with all charges processed securely by credit card. A refundable security deposit (typically several hundred to a few thousand dollars depending on the RV) is placed as a hold on your card before pickup and released after dropoff, assuming no damage or extra fees. Add-ons, mileage overages, and generator overages are settled after the trip through the platform. Pro tip: take time-stamped photos and a video of the RV at pickup and dropoff, including the odometer, generator hours, and tank levels, this is the single best thing you can do to ensure your full deposit comes back quickly.
help.rvezy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038106214-How-the-security-deposit-worksWhat are the best road trip destinations from Lely, FL?
Lely is a great launchpad in Florida for an RV adventure. Top routes include Everglades National Park (Shark Valley entrance around 50 miles, Flamingo Campground roughly 90 miles) for alligators and airboats, Marco Island and Tigertail Beach (12 miles) for sunsets, Sanibel and Captiva Islands (50 miles) for shelling, Key Largo and John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park (about 150 miles) for snorkeling, and the full Overseas Highway down to Key West (about 215 miles). Heading north, Sarasota's Siesta Key is around 130 miles up I-75. For an under-the-radar pick, Big Cypress National Preserve's Loop Road is about 70 miles east.
