Campgrounds and RV parks near Lely Resort, FL

Beaches are the most common day trip. Marco Island, Tigertail Beach, and Gulf-front parks in Naples are all reachable within about thirty minutes, and boat ramps along US-41 provide access to the Ten Thousand Islands for kayaking, fishing, and dolphin-spotting. Wildlife viewing is a major draw. Collier-Seminole State Park has a canoe trail that runs down the Blackwater River through mangrove forest to Blackwater Bay and the Ten Thousand Islands, plus hiking and biking trails. Big Cypress National Preserve, immediately east on the Tamiami Trail, is home to alligators, wading birds, and the endangered Florida panther, with roadside pullouts and boardwalks that are easy to visit from an RV. For rainy afternoons or family days, the Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens offers animal exhibits and a primate-island boat ride, and downtown Naples has walkable shopping and dining along Fifth Avenue South and Third Street South.

Winter, from December through February, is the peak RV season around Lely Resort. Days are warm and mostly dry, humidity is lower than in summer, and mosquito pressure drops sharply. Snowbird demand is heavy, and private parks along the Naples corridor commonly fill months in advance. Collier-Seminole State Park is open year-round, and winter dates typically book at or near the maximum advance-reservation window. Spring, from March through May, remains popular but starts to warm quickly. Late spring brings the first storms of the wet season and rising humidity. Hiking and mountain-bike trails inside Collier-Seminole are subject to flooding from June to November, so travelers planning off-pavement activities should call ahead. Summer and early fall are the wet season and also overlap the Atlantic hurricane season, which runs June through November and peaks in September. Afternoon thunderstorms are near-daily, biting insects are active, and some private parks reduce hours or amenities. Availability is easier, but travelers should track tropical forecasts and confirm park status before arrival.

The terrain is flat, and most roads used to reach area campgrounds are wide and RV-friendly. US-41 (Tamiami Trail) and Collier Boulevard handle the majority of traffic between Naples, Marco Island, and the Everglades. Downtown Naples streets get congested in peak season and are best avoided in larger motorhomes. Hookups at private resorts in the area are typically full service, with 30 and 50 amp electric, water, sewer, and Wi-Fi. Collier-Seminole State Park offers water and electric at RV sites but no individual sewer hookups, using a centralized dump station instead, and accommodates RVs up to about fifty feet. Expect strong sun year-round, biting insects from late spring through fall, and near-daily afternoon storms in the wet season. Alligators are common in freshwater ponds and canals, including in landscaped communities, so pets should be kept on leash and away from water edges.
