Campgrounds and RV parks near Naples, FL

Beach access is the main draw. Naples Pier, Vanderbilt Beach, Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park, and Barefoot Beach Preserve all offer swimming, shelling, and sunset viewing within a short drive of most RV parks. Marco Island adds calmer bay-side options suitable for families and kayakers. Inland, Big Cypress National Preserve and Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park provide boardwalks, scenic drives on Loop Road and Turner River Road, and ranger-led swamp walks in the cooler months. Everglades National Park's Gulf Coast Visitor Center in Everglades City is the launch point for boat tours through the Ten Thousand Islands. Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, the Naples Zoo, and Clam Pass Park round out family-friendly stops that work well as half-day trips from an RV base.

Naples has two clear seasons rather than four. The dry season runs roughly December through February, with pleasantly warm and sunny days and rare rain, though the broader dry period extends from November into April. This is peak RV season on the Paradise Coast, and private resorts near Naples fill months in advance with snowbirds on monthly and seasonal contracts. Weekly and nightly availability is scarce from January through March. Summer runs June through September and is hot and muggy, with high humidity that can produce a perceived temperature above 40 C (104 F). Afternoon thunderstorms typically form between 3 and 6 p.m., delivering heavy rain, thunder, and lightning before passing within about an hour. Mosquitoes and no-see-ums are heavy inland, particularly around the Everglades and Fakahatchee Strand. Hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30, with peak activity in August and September, extending into October. Southwest Florida is a high-risk zone, and evacuation orders can close campgrounds with little notice. Rates and availability soften in summer, but travelers should monitor the National Hurricane Center and carry a flexible itinerary.

Sites near Naples are typically level, paved or crushed-shell, with full hookups including 30/50-amp service, water, sewer, and often cable and Wi-Fi. Lots run smaller than western RV parks, and big rigs should confirm length and slide clearance when booking. The terrain is flat and the water table is high, so drainage during summer storms can be slow. Wildlife encounters are routine: alligators in retention ponds, wading birds, and the occasional bobcat or Florida panther crossing sign east of town. Do not feed or approach wildlife. Cell coverage is strong in Naples and Marco Island but drops off quickly along US-41 into Big Cypress, where there is limited to no cell phone coverage at campgrounds. Grocery, propane, and RV service are widely available within the city, but options thin out fast once past Collier-Seminole State Park.
