Campgrounds and RV parks near Pelican Marsh, FL

Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park anchors outdoor recreation in the immediate area, with a mile of undeveloped Gulf barrier-island beach, a boat ramp into Water Turkey Bay and the Cocohatchee River, and paddling routes through mangrove estuaries. Fishing is concentrated at the north end near the pass, where anglers commonly land snook, red drum, and sea trout. The Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens and Barefoot Beach Preserve are both short drives south and north respectively. Vanderbilt Beach and Clam Pass Park add more low-key beach days. For rainy afternoons, the Mercato lifestyle center sits just outside the Pelican Marsh gates with dining, groceries, and a cinema. Farther afield, Collier-Seminole State Park opens up hiking, a 13.5-mile canoe trail through mangroves toward the Ten Thousand Islands, and wildlife viewing at the edge of the Everglades.

Southwest Florida's high season for RV travel runs November through April, when humidity drops, rainfall is limited, and daytime highs sit in the 70s and low 80s Fahrenheit. Snowbird demand peaks January through March, and private resorts around Naples often require monthly minimum stays during that window. Florida State Parks such as Collier-Seminole strongly recommend reservations from November through March, when the campground routinely fills. Late spring is a shoulder period with warm, mostly dry weather before the wet season begins. From June through September expect daily thunderstorms, high humidity, and biting insects. Hiking and mountain-bike trails at Collier-Seminole are subject to flooding from June to November. Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30, with peak activity from August through October. Southwest Florida is directly exposed to Gulf storms, and recent seasons have seen major hurricane damage to coastal parks in the Naples area, including extended closures at Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park. Travelers in late summer and early fall should monitor National Hurricane Center advisories and confirm park status before arrival.

Private resorts in the North Naples and Bonita Springs corridor are typically manicured, gated, and amenity-focused. Expect paved or grassy pads with 30- and 50-amp full hookups, heated pools, laundry, clubhouses, and organized activities such as pickleball, shuffleboard, bocce, and catch-and-release fishing ponds. Several of the closest resorts, including Lake San Marino RV Resort, are 55-plus communities, so travelers with children should verify age policies before booking. Interior roads at older resorts can be narrow, and back-in sites are common, so measure your rig and slide-outs carefully. Cell coverage and Wi-Fi are generally reliable given the suburban location. At Collier-Seminole State Park, RV sites offer water and electric with a central dump station rather than individual sewer hookups, and the campground accommodates rigs up to 50 feet. Come prepared for mosquitoes, sun exposure, and afternoon rain in the warmer months.
