Campgrounds and RV parks near Frankfort, KS

Frankfort sits in Marshall County in northeast Kansas, roughly 45 minutes north of Manhattan and within reach of the Big Blue River corridor. The town is small and rural, and most RV camping in the area centers on private parks in nearby communities and the state park units along Tuttle Creek Reservoir to the south. Close-in options include Oregon Trail RV Park in Westmoreland and Baileys RV Park, both suited to travelers looking for straightforward hookups near town. For lake-based camping, Tuttle Creek State Park operates several developed areas within reach, including Fancy Creek, Cedar Ridge, Spillway Park, and River Pond. Tuttle Creek Reservoir is the second-largest impoundment in Kansas, with roughly 12,500 acres of water and about 100 miles of wooded shoreline. The state park is split into multiple units spread around the lake, so RV travelers should confirm which loop matches their rig length, hookup needs, and preferred activities before booking.

Reservations for Tuttle Creek State Park units, including Fancy Creek, Cedar Ridge, Spillway Park, and River Pond, are handled through the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks reservation system, operated via ReserveAmerica. Sites can be booked up to 364 days in advance, and popular summer weekends often go early. Kansas releases its annual inventory in blocks in mid-December for the following year. Some campsites are reservable while others operate first-come, first-served, so confirm the loop before arrival. A daily or annual state park vehicle permit is required in addition to camping fees. Stays are capped at 14 days on any one site. Private options like Oregon Trail RV Park in Westmoreland and Baileys RV Park are booked directly with the operator.
